Not sure why my previous review was removed. Anyways, I attended Silver Spring Driving Academy six years ago and had a positive experience. One thing I found convenient was their weekend courses. They have classes both Saturday and Sunday mornings, which is especially important for individuals working on weekdays. The instructors made the classroom portion very engaging so you are not bored. My road instructor was also professional and helpful. He did help me master my parallel parking skills, which I use on a daily basis. Also, I find all the staff (in particular, the owners) very polite and professional. I would definitely recommend this driving school to others. Read Less

That they offered morning classes is what originally sold them for me. Wendy (who is co-owner with her husband) was a warm and helpful instructor. Her willingness to provide extra help to students having trouble grasping the information showed a level of caring that was lovely to see. With a morning and an evening class running concurrently, a wonderful thing I was witness to was their flexibility. I had people in my class switching between both the a.m. and p.m. classes because of work schedule conflicts. Same goes for the behind the wheel sessions. One student in my class had completed his 6 hours by the last day because he followed their advice and kept checking the website for openings due to cancellations. After witnessing that, I feel that any complaints about the wait for a driving appointment is more indicative of a client not paying attention. I would avoid this driving school at all costs. They don't tell you that THEY have 18 weeks to provide the in car sessions and only allow you to sign up once a week. When they are booked, you are stuck waiting another week.  They have very few openings for in cars. The owner is deplorable and likes to state he's operating within the "DMV guidelines" and if I wanted more driving sessions I could pay more money. I am embarrassed that I recommended this school based on my previous children using it. Definitely can tell they are under new ownership. We paid for private in-car sessions with Greg's Driving Academy, booked them on the phone for that week and kept him on track for his road test. It was a wonderful experience. Read Less

I learned all I needed to know during the class, I did well on the exam and felt that they prepared me well. Also the instructors during the 6 hours were very helpful, shout-out to Julius! My instructors name was Julius , great guy. He waited for me 2 times when I came late . And he showed me and thought me great tips on how to drive and what to do . Great Driving School! I had two wonderful instructors. Julius was amazing, he was kind and patient and made the behind the wheel session a fun experience while still teaching me so much. My experience with Silver Spring Driving Academy was great. I had two instructors, however, I learned much more from Julius. He gives you great pointers and let's you know specifically what you have to improve. His feed back and tone of voice keeps you calm and encourages you to keep trying. Would not recommend this driving school to anyone unless you want your time wasted by their scheduling conflicts. Short story they scheduled me for behind the wheel driving for a certain date. They then changed the date without my knowledge, and didn't even apologize for the huge inconvenience. Read Less

My son took driving lessons here. The classroom portion went fine but when it came time to continue with the driving portion we were told there are no openings for the foreseeable future. Now that they have our money we are screwed. I was told I would get a call last week to tell me about driving time availability. Still waiting... If you are a reasonably attractive. Be aware of the male instructors and the owner. The school is run by a married couple. The owner will call the students one by one to his office in order to schedule the 3x2 hour driving session. In my case he tried to crack a move during a casual conversation by how "some people will be nice to you cos you are a woman and people want something such as sex and so on" and gave me a disgusting and long stare. You don't need a context for that. I did read a review a while ago on one of the customer complaint website how he tried to touch a young lady's bottom. The wife seems to have no idea. The instructor was in his 60's and very tall, about 6' 2''. If you see him you would know which one I am talking about. Watch out for him. I was very confused back then but now I know I should have complaint and asked for a replacement. He kept on touching me in the hand and made a multiple attempt to put his hand on my leg during the lesson. And after trying that few time he actually laid his hand on my leg for 3 seconds. I finally made it clear that it is not wanted by picking up his hand off my leg and threw away and gave him a disgusted look. He apologized and gave me a full mark. I would have still passed without the full mark. He also made an effort to tell me that I was lucky to get a full mark because sometimes insurance companies call the school for the transcript to determine the auto insurance premium. Was I supposed to be grateful for that? Both of these people are disgusting and unprofessional. Again if you are a woman especially reasonably attractive and more., watch out. Read Less

The classroom instruction was great, engaging and informative but the driving lessons were horrible. The person I had for my 6 hr session wasn't so great. Also, for driving lessons outside of the 6 hrs that comes with the classroom fee, they are over-priced. Read Less
