I was an adjunct faculty member at the Des Moines campus in Computer Science for one phase back in the spring of 2016, and without going into a lof ot detail, the way things are done over there really leave something to be desired. Some of their policies seem really "out there" to me and they have the right to make rules "on the spot" without concern of how many weeks remain in the phase, and this is coming from someone who taught at one of the more reputable community colleges in the state of Indiana for ten years.
What's more, my supervisor was the micromanaging type and seemed as if he cannot trust me to do my job. He also was not the type that lived up to his word; as an example of this, he was supposed to observe me teaching in the class as part of the new faculty evaluation policy, but every time he said he was going to be there, he no showed every time. Needless to say, that infuriated me.
It is pretty apparent to me that Vatterott plays by their own set of rules, given that they are a for-profit college, and they seem to be more interested in making money instead of making an effort to ensure that students are getting a quality education. If a for-profit college is your only option, then Vatterott should be the last place you should consider. Read Less
