First, I hardly write bad reviews. But, I would not want future students experience what I had with this instructor, Monte Synder, under the business name of “International Drivers Training” and “Milestone.” He never came on time for driving appointments. He always counted the time I had to wait in his one-hour driving lessons. Let’s say our appointment was 10:00. If he was late for 20 minutes, we actually happened to start at 10:21. But, he ended the lesson at 11:00 and charged me $50 for the whole hour. It happened about 8 times out of 10 times. He kept doing that until I complained on the 18th lesson. He will give you bait--something like he will show you the test driving route DMV uses. But, it never happened until the last lesson which is the 40th hour. No plan of how many lessons he will give students. 100% most likely, you will end up taking 50+ hours, if you do not know how to drive at all. So, have $2500 ready for him. He took you to the country roads in about over 25 hours which is unacceptable. Even though I said I got driving in country roads, he kept taking me there. That limited me to improve my different driving skills. I think he tried to get lots of money from me as much as he can. We once had his old blue car engine stopped running in the middle of the road on the 2nd of 3rd lessons. He told me he will buy a new car next month. It did not happen. I lost 30 minutes of my one hour lesson which is $25. He never made up for it. Too bad I did not complain for it. Beware that he will take advantage on your silence of his lateness, and his irresponsible driving training. So, complain a lot if you happen to take his lessons. Read Less

I took nine lessons from the instructor and then quit. There are several reasons I made that decision. If you are considering taking lessons from him, think about what I am going to say carefully. First, as other people have mentioned, the instructor has a very poor sense of time. He was consistent at being late, from 20min to over 30min. He counted the waiting time in the one hour lesson. I complained once and he made up for that by giving me a free lesson. The second time I complained, he said he didn't have time at that time. I decided to quit shortly after so never had those wasted hours made up. Second, he is impatient at students and inconsistent at evaluating the student's driving skills. On my sixth lesson or so, he said I could finish in twelve lessons in total. But on the nineth lesson, he said I need to take at least EIGHT more lesson which means $320. Unbelievable. It seems that he didnt care about the students and was deliberately harsh on students to make them feel bad and take more lessons. Third, he took me to the gas station twice and State Farm once during nine lessons. Although he made up for some of the wasted time, it was unprofessional to do that at all. Fourth, I have been suspecting that he exposed my home address to State Farm. He asked me once to write down my home address on one of the checks I gave him. Shortly after, I started to receive trash mails from State Farm every now and then. Maybe it wasn't him. But I just don't trust him any more. Read Less

Never come in time, irresponsible. You have to call him to check if he's coming now. His teaching style is not really good that he takes you to the same place or quiet neiborhood, almost every lessons, which limits you to improve your driving skill. Also, his car is old that some parts are broken. He said he would fix it or buy a new car that I could drive or learn safely but never happened. He seems like he only cares about getting money from you. Read Less

avoid this guy at all costs. you will not be treated respectfully. keep on searching google with different keywords and you should find other instructors in the area. He is never on time and only does 40~45 mins out of 60 minute lesson. You will not be given a chance to ask a simple question like "do i turn here'. instead you will be scolded with comments like "why don't you know that by now. i would've told you if that was necessary. is your head made of cement? it's not rocket science. it's common sense and logic." all this from simply asking him when to turn.Read Less

If you can take driving lesson somewhere else then do it. don't learn from this guy. only reason i'm still learning from him is because this is the only place i can learn to drive in west lafayette. i never write bad reviews but im writing one for this because it is that bad. first of all the man does not know how to read the clock. he was never on time, not even once so when you make appointments with him at 4:00pm he will come to you at 4:30. also, his "one hour" lesson means "40 minutes". so if you schedule driving for "two hours" it actualy means "1 hour and 20 minutes", so you will waste A LOT of money. he also rips off so you need to be really rich to take his classes. last but not least he is very condescending and make you feel like you're unworthy of anything. He is impatient and I think he is a misanthrope. Every time I come home from driving I feel 1) ripped off, 2) upset / unhappy because the man has no respect for learners and 3) wonder why im still taking classes from him. Read Less
