The classroom portion of the Excel program was fantastic. The Between the Wheel portion has been a disaster, and I deeply regret not taking reviews on the Naperville site seriously. I figured if we left our schedule wide open we would get the BTW sessions scheduled, no problem. Not the case. Not only does Excel, as a policy, take weeks between each scheduled "drive", they expect the parents to have taught their kids how to drive before the BTW sessions even start. My car has no brake on the passenger side. I'm not a driving instructor. My experience with my older children in public school was that the driving instructor taught the driving skills, then the parents would take the kids out to practice those skills. The Excel philosophy compares to signing your child up for drum lessons then being told to teach your child how to play the (potentially lethal) drums yourself before the lessons start, and wait 2-3 weeks between lessons. And you can only schedule one at a time. Ridiculous. Read Less
