I am not sure why these reviews are so negative. I am so thankful for Miss Allegretti’s Driver’s Ed program. I have been now driving for over six years on her instruction and have **never** been even close to an accident due to my cause. Of course she will be hard on you behind the wheel - you are operating a 5,000 lb machine!! Looking back, I realize that people are looking for an easy way out, however this is not it. Miss Allegretti runs a tight ship. Armed with tons of yummy snacks, she will make sure you (or your child), will complete all necessary classwork and make sure your scores are passing on all tests. She works hard to be open and have transparent availability to make up tests, classes, and driving hours both on weekends and nights. I am so disappointed to see these negative reviews and can personally assure you I am thankful for the experience I had with her. I always refer her when I can. A simple Google search led me to her. She is tremendously hilarious and good at what she does. Don’t listen to these other reviews. Read Less

This is not only the worst driving school ever but the worst business I have ever had an experience with. The customer service and willingness to help is atrocious. The owners treatment of her customers should be used as psychological study in antisocial behavior. Her treatment of my son was despicable. I will let my children wait years for an opening at another school if this is the last available option. I would rather have them learn from Stevie Wonder how to drive than that lady! Read Less

I honestly wish i never put a star on this, but my experience with Ms. Allegretti was terrible. I feel like she really didn't know how to teach a class. Usually when i would come, i would enter and get my book and start reading by myself and then take a test. I feel like i would taught myself as i read and took notes she would just sit and watch you read and do the testing. When i would come late, she wouldn't that i didn't live in oak park. it would take me an hour and half to come, especially that i would come right out of school and take the bus there. This lady has personal issues, and has a really nasty attitude. She has no problem giving attitude to me or to my mom. I asked her i wanted to talk to her boss she claimed that she's her "own boss". Most of the kids in my class were uncomfortable around her because of her behavior. She also claims that I've appointment with her for an in-car but i don't recall of me making appointments with her. She has also mentioned to me that i owe 40$ for the missing appointments. I will not pay a dime to her. One of the appointments i did miss was a reason that i had went to the doctor because i had the flu. I was going to give her a doctors note and she refused taking it and still wanted me to pay the $40. I remember i argued with her through the phone about this situation and especially in front of students and a parents. This shows me she doesn't know how to do classroom management and is very disrespectful to let our person business in front of everyone. She has also mentioned to my mom i was "screaming out of my lungs" at her. She's so funny because my mom was actually right in front of me on the phone. My mom said she isn't stupid and she has no reason to lie. Ms Allegretti really needs to get an inspector to come in too because she also likes to give people the answers for tests. She's so unorganized, papers everywhere, gym stuff everywhere. its just nasty in there. Every time when I'm in the car with her she likes to yell at my face. I really felt uncomfortable with her that close to me. She doesn't want me to accelerate while i am turning. I have been driving since i was 13, and would go driving to work. She thinks the i shouldn't look at both ways of a stop. I would keep doing it and she kept yelling at me, but i have no problem doing it because i want to be safe! WARNING: never come here! The instructor is very disrespectful and has bad manners and is inconsiderate. You could go to a better place than this driving school. The school looks dirty and the desks are disgusting. This lady really needs to step it up because i will try to reach for her boss. Oh, and forgot to mentioned; if your kid has a disability or hard time learning, just know that she does make fun of people like that, and is unclear of things. Writing this makes me so mad! i wish i never came to this place!!! Read Less

Driving school and Driver's Ed is supposed to suck by definition. But, Allegretti's "Driving Academy" took it to a whole new level. On Allegretti's website, she comments on her "Brand new state of art classroom.Up to date superior classroom education.  Brand new books!" The classroom is loud, dingy, messy with papers flying all over the place, and full of exercise equipment from Ms. Allegretti's failed gym business. The textbooks are new so to speak, but they are only new copies of textbooks so old that they do not mention cell phones. The class consists of mindlessly taking turns reading aloud, and answering review and test questions straight from the textbook. Once the chapter is read, Ms. Allegretti retreats to her computer where she loudly watches videos or plays flash games. The work itself takes about 15 minutes, and the other hour of class consists of sitting in boredom. Towards the last quarter of the class, Ms. Allegretti allows you to choose from one of several terrible Will Ferrell movies to watch for the remainder of class. The in-car driving involves driving her to various errands in her rickety old car that is extremely difficult to drive. She yells at you, gives vague directions, and is unclear in what she wants you to be doing. Allegretti teaches bad driving habits, such as stopping twenty feet from the car in front of you, signaling a solid ten seconds in advance, and my personal favorite, grabbing the steering wheel and sending you into the direction of oncoming traffic while saying "Claim your space!!"Ms. Allegretti is a horrid lady. She started crying during class on multiple occasions, screams all the time. She tells people that they drive "like they're retarded" and makes other snide comments about people with disabilities. Ms. Allegretti is not fit to run a business, wears pajamas to every class, and is rude on the telephone.Allegretti's Driving Academy:Pros: Unlimited snacks from the snack table.Cons: Absolutely everything else.I AlleREGRETti coming here! I needed a refresher on how to drive on faster roads, like highways and such, so I wasn't looking for a driving lesson and the usual mean driving instructor as I'm a young adult who's been driving for years and not some high shooler learning to drive. We explained this to the woman who owns the place, teaches, and gives the driving lessons. We got into her car and she seemed nice at first, I don't think it was even a minute before she first snapped at me. We paid her to help me re-familiarize myself w/ the highways, instead all I got was a hour long waste of time mean driving lesson because apparently I wasn't good at making slow turns and just garbage driving instructions that as we drive more and more we just don't do anymore, like driving 20 on side streets, going exactly 25, breaking half a block away from the stop, and signalling 3/4 of a block away from the turn. I know for a fact that I'm a good driver, as not only have I never been in an accident I've never gotten a ticket, and I went on a drive later w/ someone and they said I was a great driver, so it was just her. She mentioned (during the only about 1 min. general meet and greet talk that she was actually nice) that she owned the gym next door and that she had to close it, and I wonder why, maybe that it was the size of a regular store, or maybe it was just her? I do know that I'm not at all surprised as she seems to have no idea on how to run a business and provide a service for money that we give her to provide the service that we ask for. Not only that we didn't get what we paid for, she was also unnecessarily mean, she even acknowledged it too, that's what's worse, even though you realize it you really can't change your attitude, really? I don't recommend this if you're trying to get a refresher, I think she would be like any other driving instructor if you're signing up someone who is a new driver though. I still don't recommend hiring her if you're getting driving lessons though, good example was her telling me to "go ahead" when I hadn't even fully stopped at the stop sign yet, also, DO NOT support mean driving instructors, there's no need for it, it's unnecessary and just plain rude and mean. You can learn driving fine w/ a regular school teacher. She does give refunds, the only 5 stars I'll give this "academy". Read Less
