I loved all 5 weeks of this class, my instructor used various different teaching techniques. He used the white board to write on as well as verbal explanations. He also frequently used videos that explained what we needed to know. I was rarely confused in this class, and as a result scored a perfect score on my permit test. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! My experience at Auto Metro Driving School was great! I missed the first two classes, but was able to be caught up and earned a perfect score on the permit test which I took a mere week later. The class prepares you both in the classroom and on the road which allows you to test both your street and book smarts. In addition, the instructor, Mr. Damian, provided funny personal anecdotes which allowed valuable driving life lessons to be cemented in the students' brains. He's very shrewd and rude. He'll keep telling you at the end of every driving class that you don't listen to his instructions and you're a horrible driver, so that you succumb to the pressure created by him and keep attending the classes even though you are ready for the Road Test.I think the reviews written were manipulated as my experience was totally opposite. Worst Ever Driving school,to be more precise Robert who was my instructor  was very rude.I was a nervous student,but he was not patient and he did teach me what to do,though i was driving for the first time.He utilized as i was nervous in driving,which i paid him nearly $450.He was postponing me taking my driving test giving n number of reasons.atlast i didnt get my license,because i was moving to another state.Terrible experience with him.He was kinda racist :( Read Less

I went to this driving school over six years ago, but I had a good experience.  My instructors name was Damian, and he did a good job preparing me for the written exam, which I scored a 100% on.  I felt comfortable driving under his instruction and learned everything I needed to know to drive an automobile with an automatic transmission.  He was very professional and accommodated driving appointments to my schedule.  He speaks Polish, so if you need a Polish instructor he's a good guy to learn from.  I highly recommend Auto Metro Driving School. I highly recommend Auto Metro and in particular my driving instructor, Damian Koziel. I had not driven in over 10 years when I began taking lessons with Damian. I was very nervous about starting to drive again but from the very first day he really set me at ease while I was behind the wheel. He has the perfect personality for a driving instructor - even when I made mistakes and he had to correct me on something he did so in a very calm way. Auto Metro school is fantastic and Instructor Robert sir is excellent. I am very scared of car driving. I got trained elsewhere I failed the road test once. I called up Mr.Robert. His training is excellent. I cleared the road test and I did it with 100% perfection which I couldn't belive myself. I am happily going to India to bring my family. I sincerly suggest to take the driving classes from Robert. He has the best qualities. He gets involved in training the student. I saw driving school who teach for money but Robert is very different. I still feel lot to write...just imagize my condition before and understand why I feel to write about him so much after getting the license. I also had a really good experienced with Damien.I haven't drove for over 10 years (living in San Francisco) and before that I only drove in a small town for a couple of years.Damien was a patient and effective teacher. i only needed 4 lessons before passing my test. Yea! I decided to use the school car that I have been practicing for the test and Damien came with me and walked me through the whole thing before hand. It calmed my nerve and was worth the extra bucks not to deal with the DMV alone.Another thing that made him an even better instructor in my eyes is that he doesn't stop teaching you even after you passed your test.That last day, He was still giving me useful advices, tips and encouragements for driving as he drove me and my new license home.Thanks, Damien! I got my driver's license after taking driving lessons from this school. My instructor always emphasized on the right driving technique. Not cheap, but you'll get your money's worth. If you?re looking for a driving school well worth the money, Auto Metro is it. Now I?m comfortable in a car, even with a bus on the right side and a big truck on the left. Well, I never got to actual driving. I had a 1.5 hour of driving scheduled, but the instructor never showed up, and nobody called me that my appointment was canceled. Before taking the classes with Damien, I have never driven in my life (I am 30). I have to tell you it was great, great, and great! Since I was working, I could take driving lessons only on Saturdays. Auto Metro was always able to accommodate me and offer the convenient schedule. I started taking driving lessons on October 6 and yesterday, on November 16, I took the Road Test and passed it on the first try. The tester at the facility didn't even notice any single mistake! Trust me, guys, it was Damien who convinced me to take the exam. I would probably wait for another month or two. :-) So, the School definitely doesn't make you take any unnecessary classes (as I heard they do at some other schools). Besides basic skills, Damien was able to teach me how to parallel park and how to drive on the highways. He is a very pleasant person and a great teacher. He made everything seem very easy, never got upset (you can imagine how I drove at the beginning) or made fun of me. :-) I would absolutely recommend this school to everybody. If you live far from this school and don't have transportation to get there, instructors can come to your house and pick you up. As of now, I feel absolutely comfortable in the Chicago traffic. Since there aren't really any driving school reviews on Yelp I thought I'd add mine. I found Auto Metro via Citysearch, the reviews were amazing so I sent them an email. They were literally the only driving school out of 10 that even bothered to reply to my email. Star no 1! Even though I am out of their usual area they took me on as a student, handy since no driving schools actually cover my area. Star no 2! Because I work full time and my husband works occasionally at the weekends it was difficult for me to find time for lessons but my instructor went out of his way, sometimes picking me up at 7am on weekends to fit me in. Star no 3!Despite having reached the grand old age of 29, I've never driven a car in my life (European, never needed to!). Damian, my instructor was extremely patient and explained everything to me as many times as I needed it, and made sure we drove only in areas where the traffic level was within my comfort zone. Star no 4! And I managed to learn with Damian's expert teaching in under 10 lessons, which for me is pretty amazing, and I passed first time. No unneccessary milking of the crap students for unneeded lessons! Star no 5! So if you, like me, are an adult looking for a driving instructor who is going to be patient, flexible and honest, then Damian at Auto Metro is the one for you. I recently got my Driving License after taking driving lessons from this school. I had a very good experience with them. I hadn't driven much before but I feel pretty confident now. My instructor was punctual on every occasion and always emphasized on the right driving technique. Most importantly, more than teaching to merely pass the test, I was taught to cultivate safe driving habits. I had a ""pleasure"" to drive with a few driving schools in Chicago and this one is really the best. After three driving lessons with this school I passed my driving exam easly on my first attempt. My driving examiner wasn't friendly at first, but when he figured out I took my lessons with Auto Metro, he changed and said that I shouldn't worry to much because this is the best school in the city. I had an okay experience with them. The instructor I had wasn't very friendly or understanding about my problems driving but it wasn't THAT bad. I went to a better school that was a little cheaper than what Auto Metro was asking for. Overall, it's okay but I think there are better schools that don't ask for that much $$$. Read Less
