They fleece you and don't provide the services as promised. Don't waste your time.Signed up for 10 hours, or five classes, and none of those classes lasted more than 1.5 hours. The material taught was repetitive, and nothing of what would be tested was taught to me. I then signed up for the $180 test package, which included a one hour training prior to the test. That training was never done. Additionally, the receptionist is extremely rude and disrespectful of customers. I was rudely told to "go with another school" if I wanted to. Read Less

Horrible experience! Paid for the class but never received any info from the school. Was several minutes late because I couldn't figure out where to park and received a very rude phone call from Jan Davis yelling at me for being late. I tried to explain to her that I was  there but couldn't figure out the parking. The signage for the school is hard to view from the opposite side of Howell mill so I initially passed the school. It would be helpful to receive an email after paying for class that listed the address, parking info, etc. The videos shown in the class need to be updated! I know there has to be other information that could be shared in class. We actually spent time going over the steps for a 16 year old to obtain a drivers license which was simply ridiculous considering everyone in the class was over 16 years old and we all had drivers licenses. As a busy professional and mother I value my time and If I'm going to miss a day from work to take a class I at least want to learn some useful information. I was also very offended by the instructor telling a student in the class that she wouldn't be able to pronounce his name. That is VERY disrespectful! If you see a name you don't know how to pronounce you simply ask the person for the pronunciation. It's that simple. There were lots of interruptions during the class from walk-in customers. You need to have an employee manning the front desk during business hours. Read Less

Inspiring and Motivating Before class I was upset because I had to take time out of my weekend to go. During class our instructor Myia Williams did this activity that allowed us all to open up and by the time class was over on Sunday I felt like my life had changed. The information that she gave us and the stories that we heard were heart warming and made me realized what I needed to do. Its crazy because 98% of the information she put out to us we had already heard for years but for some reason this time it seemed different. She didnt treat us as if we were bad people. She treated us like regular people that just made an honest mistake. I truly recommend this school to anyone that is in need of this class. Read Less

I chose this school because of many positive reviews, yet my instructor deeply disappointed me. I registered for 4 days Behing-the-Wheel. 1st day he came half hour early and called me like "hey, I'm 3 min away from your place." Instead of 4 2-hour sessions, he dropped me of early 3 times, so I basically lost 1.5 hours. He didn't show up for one of the sessions and rescheduled it, then early that day, called me and rescheduled it half hour earlier, then showed up an hour late. It was so horrible. He promised and told me he would teach me things, but I didn't feel like I could trust him. He even asked me to schedule extra sessions with him (w/o going through the school) and personally, as a manager in a business myself, I felt that was absurd. Bad working ethics!! Not only that, when I became comfortable driving, he started to use cell phones for texting during the lessons. So I pretended to go over the other lane and he had no freaking idea until I was already on that lane, once he realized he took the steering wheel forcibly and was like "Hey, take this seriously!" I'm not sure if it was because I only registered 4 sessions that they assigned me such a horrible instructor or if they just hired this dude without training him. Read Less

The most horrible instructor ever from this driving school. The instructor Vern constantly kept telling me that I would fail and kept on insisting that I sign up for more classes when I had already signed up for 6hrs plus a 1.5 hr. He made me cancel my exam and then when I re scheduled je kept demotivating saying that I will fail the exam and this was the only thing he ever said. He was so horrible that right before I was going to sit in the car for my test he said "You will fail" and then I failed. And after I came out failed, he did not even have the courtesy to comfort me and he just started lecturing me on how I should take more lessons. His only goal looked like demotivating me. Read Less

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time now (I finished my course back in May 2014)Alfa is excellent. PERIOD.They not only run a business but also genuinely care about how to best teach driving to their students. When I started my 10-hour course I was a really nervous, frightened, fidgety driver with no real practice or even skill. However, 10 driving hours later, I was driving smoothly and comfortably although still a little nervous. I passed my driving test in the first try and did very very well on it! I was really impressed with myself, actually! I am 26 and not a teenager so I had extra years of pent up fear and anxiety and was never really sure I would learn to drive, especially because I have Attention deficit disorder (ADD), but at Alfa, my instructors were very understanding, encouraging, positive and were excellent teachers. Their top instructors (back in March 2014) were Bill and Al (I believe the great Jim Bell is no more - :'(  ). They are both equally great in their own right. Bill, an ex-cop, is really chilled out and has a very go-with-the-flow kinda attitude and will give you all the tips and tricks you would need to be a top-class driver. But if you are a really technical person like me who would want to all the hard and fast rules with specific attention to detail, then Al is your guy! Al is to-the-point, straightforward and will give all the details you need to follow to drive like a pro.Alfa's courses are reasonably priced compared to other driving schools. Alfa also has the facility to assist you and provide you with a car (if you don't already have one) for your driving test.Pros: Conveniently located next to DDS at Sandy Springs, cool instructors, decent practice cars, familiarization with possible driving test routes beforehand, reasonably prices (well, think of it as an investment in your future!)Cons: meh, can't think of any! Took a defensive driving course here on a Saturday. Not much to say since the course is state regulated at $75.00 and 6 hours of course instruction. The location is nice since you get a 1 hour lunch break and you have several restaurants to choose from off Howell mill as well as the possibility to do some shopping with a Walmart and Kroger conveniently down the street. The classroom is small and holds around 18 students. There is a vending machine serving some snacks and Pepsi products. Make sure to park in the back or you will have to move your car before class starts. I took six 2 hour sessions of driving lessons with Alfa Driving School, and my instructor was Jim Bell. I haven't written many reviews but I had to come online and write a review about Jim Bell. I would HIGHLY recommend Jim to anyone who's in need of a driving instructor. From my very first lesson he made me feel totally comfortable behind the wheel. One of Jim's many great qualities is that he can really help build your driving confidence. He takes your weak points, and really emphasizes in making them stronger. Jim also makes driving lessons with him very enjoyable. Each lesson is a unique and interesting journey to some of the most interesting places in Atlanta. In just 6 sessions I was completely comfortable driving in any situation, and on any road types including highways. I highly recommend Jim Bell as driving instructor to anyone looking for a driving instructor in Atlanta. Read Less
