I hate that I am posting this but figured I should get this message across, if the owner had better communication skills, this would've never been posted. I have already filed an official complaint through the MSF about this business. I did the motorcycle training class this saturday and I have had a pretty terrible experience. Before getting this class, my roommate researched for rates from different schools. At $200, this was by far the cheapest.. but lesson learned, being cheap never pays, only costs more. My roommate asked if it was ok to go with no experience, and was assured it was ok. I never got any papers in the beginning that outlined what the course covered, only the ridersafe booklet that explains everything and signed a waiver of liability which is fine. Yesterdays class was full of experienced riders. everyone had/or has had a motorcycle in the past, roommate included. I was the only female and "newb". I had difficulty with the clutch but did everything else pretty ok for a beginner, didn't fall. Since I never really work out my hands or do any rough work, it was kinda hard to hold down the clutch, so bike turned off a couple of times. I figured they would be more understanding. Also I am extremely catious about going fast and they kept telling me to go faster. I am really the sarah safety of driving, 7 years driving in south florida and no accidents! *knock on wood*At the end the fat guy(Sorry don't know names, but he's only fat one)asked me to consider private lessons and talk to bert, he said I wasn't bad since I didn't fall and had a good balance but I'm not "understanding the mechanics of the clutch", and two hours of private lessons should be more than enough. I didn't because a.)I'm broke, and b.)I'm really broke. Why do you think I picked that school? We took the test today and I passed, only got 4 wrong. I got my helmet and my gloves and waited outside. When it came time to get on bikes, all the guys went to the bikes and they pulled me aside and asked again about the lessons. I was straightforward and said look, I can't right now. I'm really broke and my job gives me little hours, plus I'm moving and private lessons aren't a priority, even if it is 80 bucks. he said I should do it an hour at a time, and I explained that I'm really broke. Then he said I can't continue. I kind of accepted it and left, and called my friend and explained the situation. He had gone to another school WHICH I WON'T SAY THE NAME and he said he failed the test, and took it for free. He said the point of the class is for them to teach you and not force you to "get private lessons". He said the guy is a **** and a **** and to get my money back because it's not right. Either that or take the class again. So I go back to talk to Bert the owner, who said outright it's his business, any other place would charge more, and that he has tried to help me. I said he wasn't my teacher(true, i was in spanish class with two other teachers) and all he did was yell from across the yard to release the clutch slower and he called that "personalization", if he had "helped more, it counts as a private lesson". I asked if I could take it again for free like the fat guy said, and he said yeah you can retake it for free but not until you do a private lesson. I said that doesn't make any sense, the first class is about two hours of driving since most of it is spent in classroom (from 3:15 pm to 5:45pm was time for basics, like how to switch gears while bike is off, dragging bike, etc) and that is the same amount of time they are telling me to do a private lesson for. can't I just do that instead? he said no. I asked if I practiced outside of classroom with roommates bike(he passed) can I come back and he said "nope, you HAVE to do a private lesson so I can re-evaluate you skills". Today my friend sandy went to XXXX driving school and she never rode a bike, and said that the teachers were much nicer to you. Another friend named kat went to that same XXXX school in '07, and has seen teachers tell students you have to come back so we can over the basics again. For this guy to take my money and tell me I CAN'T retake the class for free even though it's their policy is such a disgusting thing to do. He wants me to pay him extra for private lessons for two hours because I can be an expert in two hours? Really? then he also said to me "no offense but other english class was full of newbies and they all got it except for you". Real professional there guy, nice job being the typical dbag ex-fhp cop with your police edition harley. I will never go here again, they can keep my 200 but everyone will know that they are just money hungry. I guess if you are experienced and know everything, then this is fine because it is much cheaper than paying 295 elsewhere, if you are new like me, STAY AWAY. one star because I am really bothered by experience and broke, so 200 bucks really hurts me right now :( Read Less
