I completed a motorcycle training program at this location. The instructors masterfully taught us the necessary riding skills. Bert and Rollie  worked closely with us so that we could execute our new skills with confidence.  Jessie was real nice; she worked with us on the written knowledge section of the program. What helped me also was that I contracted extra time with Bert which ensured that I could become a motorcycle rider. I state this because I knew that I couldn't seem to master certain skills without private lessons. I had a lot of difficulty finding someone to work with; I was grateful to find that the Florida Motorcycle Training of North Dade offered private lessons. So don't hesitate if you're thinking about learning to ride a motorcycle call them up.And it was fun! Read Less

Awful experience! I started the course on 04/12/2014.  Mr. Humberto Monzo is only interested in your  money. I told him TWICE, that I did not know how to ride a bike and he said no problem we'll start from the beginning. And he did: here is the clutch, here is the break, the horn, the lights etc., etc. In all his wisdom that should be enough for a novice to ride a bike and pass the test.By the way, his answer to Consumer Protection section was full of lies and wrongful information. He is not giving classes on how to learn to drive a motorcycle; this course is geared to pass the license test which is fine is you KNOW how to ride a motorcycle. Mr. Monzo has no integrity and lacks character and he will take your money and shamelessly rationalize that he did his job and it was your fault if he took you out of his class. During the "training" I did not fall, neither I was in the way of the other students.I kept the pace. Was I nervous? Yes I was; and that was his excuse to get me out of the class. Three of my classmates came to me told me that I was doing great considering that I have never ridden a bike. He ignored all that. After less than 90 minutes he ordered his assistant to tell me that I was taken out of the course because I could not ride a bike. You figure! He "forgot" that I told him and his assistant TWICE that I have never ever, ridden a motorcycle. Claiming that I could not ride on the street because I was presenting a danger to myself and to other people. What a clown! That was preposterous, because with less than 90 minutes of training no one in his sound judgment will attempt to ride a bike on any road. He offered me private classes which is what he was looking for from the beginning: extra money. By the way he charged me $260.00 for less than 90 minutes of training and he wanted $150.00 per hour for private classes. He probably saw a dollar sign on my face. His business is barely making it because the motorcycle dealerships are giving free classes when you buy a motorcycle with them. So, Mr. Munzo is desperate for money any which way. WARNING: Do not take this course if you DON'T know how to ride a motorcycle. Mr. Monzo will take your money without hesitation even after you clearly state that you cannot drive a bike. Be careful! He lacks integrity and a moral compass to guide his actions. Reading his Ad on the internet I realized that he said that his training is for beginners which is not true. He lacks professionalism, integrity, and he is a very rude person also, and lacks a moral compass to tell him the difference between right and wrong. What he did to me was wrong in all counts. He just took my $260.00. I reported him to the Consumer Protection section downtown to no avail. They recommended me to take him to the Small Claims court as if I needed their advice to do the obvious. The Small Claims court is not free. It makes no sense to spend close to $200.00 to recoup $260.00 The Consumer Protection section is also a joke on all of us and a total waste of our taxpayers hard earned money. They do not investigate neither they have the authority to enforce any rules. What they do is send your complaint to the offender and their response to you. That's it. No support whatsoever. The Consumer Protection section has no reason to exist, that money could be used in something more productive. But then again, this is Miami-Dade county what was I expecting? Read Less

My experience at this motorcycle training school was great. The classroom instruction was complete, easy to follow, and the course material was easy to make sense of. The instructor answered all classroom questions with patience and detail and catered to all levels of people/riders in the class. The only suggestion I have for the classroom time is to bring a towel to sit on so it's more comfortable. The riding instruction also couldn't have been any better. There were 2 friendly and personable instructors that are very experienced riders and worked really well and in-sync as a team. They educated the group on best practices, clearly explained all the riding drills we would be practicing, and did clear demonstrations. We were able to watch one instructor do each riding drill while the other simultaneously provided instruction/analysis/tips to the group before doing it ourselves - this was really helpful. I hate that I am posting this but figured I should get this message across, if the owner had better communication skills, this would've never been posted. I have already filed an official complaint through the MSF about this business. I did the motorcycle training class this saturday and I have had a pretty terrible experience. Before getting this class, my roommate researched for rates from different schools. At $200, this was by far the cheapest.. but lesson learned, being cheap never pays, only costs more. My roommate asked if it was ok to go with no experience, and was assured it was ok. I never got any papers in the beginning that outlined what the course covered, only the ridersafe booklet that explains everything and signed a waiver of liability which is fine. Yesterdays class was full of experienced riders. everyone had/or has had a motorcycle in the past, roommate included. I was the only female and "newb". I had difficulty with the clutch but did everything else pretty ok for a beginner, didn't fall. Since I never really work out my hands or do any rough work, it was kinda hard to hold down the clutch, so bike turned off a couple of times. I figured they would be more understanding. Also I am extremely catious about going fast and they kept telling me to go faster. I am really the sarah safety of driving, 7 years driving in south florida and no accidents! *knock on wood*At the end the fat guy(Sorry don't know names, but he's only fat one)asked me to consider private lessons and talk to bert, he said I wasn't bad since I didn't fall and had a good balance but I'm not "understanding the mechanics of the clutch", and two hours of private lessons should be more than enough. I didn't because a.)I'm broke, and b.)I'm really broke. Why do you think I picked that school? We took the test today and I passed, only got 4 wrong. I got my helmet and my gloves and waited outside. When it came time to get on bikes, all the guys went to the bikes and they pulled me aside and asked again about the lessons. I was straightforward and said look, I can't right now. I'm really broke and my job gives me little hours, plus I'm moving and private lessons aren't a priority, even if it is 80 bucks. he said I should do it an hour at a time, and I explained that I'm really broke. Then he said I can't continue. I kind of accepted it and left, and called my friend and explained the situation. He had gone to another school WHICH I WON'T SAY THE NAME and he said he failed the test, and took it for free. He said the point of the class is for them to teach you and not force you to "get private lessons". He said the guy is a **** and a **** and to get my money back because it's not right. Either that or take the class again. So I go back to talk to Bert the owner, who said outright it's his business, any other place would charge more, and that he has tried to help me. I said he wasn't my teacher(true, i was in spanish class with two other teachers) and all he did was yell from across the yard to release the clutch slower and he called that "personalization", if he had "helped more, it counts as a private lesson". I asked if I could take it again for free like the fat guy said, and he said yeah you can retake it for free but not until you do a private lesson. I said that doesn't make any sense, the first class is about two hours of driving since most of it is spent in classroom (from 3:15 pm to 5:45pm was time for basics, like how to switch gears while bike is off, dragging bike, etc) and that is the same amount of time they are telling me to do a private lesson for. can't I just do that instead? he said no. I asked if I practiced outside of classroom with roommates bike(he passed) can I come back and he said "nope, you HAVE to do a private lesson so I can re-evaluate you skills". Today my friend sandy went to XXXX driving school and she never rode a bike, and said that the teachers were much nicer to you. Another friend named kat went to that same XXXX school in '07, and has seen teachers tell students you have to come back so we can over the basics again. For this guy to take my money and tell me I CAN'T retake the class for free even though it's their policy is such a disgusting thing to do. He wants me to pay him extra for private lessons for two hours because I can be an expert in two hours? Really? then he also said to me "no offense but other english class was full of newbies and they all got it except for you". Real professional there guy, nice job being the typical dbag ex-fhp cop with your police edition harley. I will never go here again, they can keep my 200 but everyone will know that they are just money hungry. I guess if you are experienced and know everything, then this is fine because it is much cheaper than paying 295 elsewhere, if you are new like me, STAY AWAY. one star because I am really bothered by experience and broke, so 200 bucks really hurts me right now :( Read Less

Simply put, you can't pick a better school nor instructors, well worth the money!  Training is handled personally by former FHP motorcycle Officer and Instructor Mr. Humberto Monzo and his wife Mrs. Jessie Lobato, whom are also the owners.  Although the schedule is very professional, it felt more like a fun weekend riding motorcycles rather than just a State requirement.  Mr. Monzo is an expert on a motorcycle and is not only a joy to watch as he rides, but also very personable and an awesome instructor.  Mrs. Lobato is a real down to earth sweetheart and what patience, never mind she too is an awesome rider and instructor.  At first we were a scraggly or twisted bunch, but by the time we were done even Harley Davidson had nothing on us... well, not quite, but we looked good!  My advice:  Had I known going legal was this much fun, and so educational, I would have dished out the $250 a loong time ago.  So go for it and have fun.  Safe riding!  Bert (respectfully) and Jessie, Thank You both very much.
