Just finished our 3WMC course with Adventure Rider Training and our trainer, Mike. We had an outstanding experience and come away feeling prepared, safe, and happy with the experience. Mike is an excellent professional, making the training interesting and fun, but always 100% respectful of the sport as one combining joy and risk. Interspersing each section of material or skills with stories or real-life examples helped make one not only appreciate the importance of that knowl...edge and skill, but connected it to the safety component as well. Some of his stories are frightening, but are meant to be: he combines a heathy respect for the risks involved with his love for riding - both are contagious. Mike is no nonsense. However, as a professional and someone with real-life experience, Mike knows when to enjoy some humor with the group or individual, how to make you relax, is very welcoming of any and all questions, and without question wants you to come away with the highest amount of knowledge and skill to make you successful and feeling confident. Some students in our group were not as comfortable in what they were doing and throughout Mike demonstrated patience and a helpful attitude. He geared his attitude and delivery to each person's need. Not everyone is cut out for riding, but Mike did everything possible to make each person individually feel as successful as possible, then put it on each of us to demonstrate if we were qualified or not. Having entered the class with limited knowledge I was nervous about being able to master learning to ride. Mike approached me - and each participant - at my comfort level then pushed me to step beyond to improve each skill through his excellent coaching. I found my confidence, ability, knowledge, and skills steadily improving over the 2 days. This is Florida, so summer heat and humidity are not to be messed with. Our luck held out with no rain until the second day. But be prepared: bring lots of water - they do have it in cups, but bring your own, you will go through it. Hydrate! Mike allowed plenty of breaks which included the opportunity to return to the classroom to cool off, use the restroom, and get water. But this is all business, and you are on the course for several hours at a time. When the storms moved in he didn't mess around: lightening was spotted and we headed inside. He was flexible to our needs - delays with weather meant adjusting the components to different times, such as coming in early the next day to complete our written test. But in all cases he was open to the group's decisions and we decided these changes together. We cannot state enough how successful we feel from our experience with Mike and Adventure Rider Training. We highly recommend them! Thanks for a great experience! See more Read Less
