No more leaving the North Captiva Island 6AM headed to Four Winds marina and navigating the ICW in the dark. No more fighting traffic in Cape Coral on my way to captains school. Just received my Captains Diploma. Next step is to send all my paperwork on to the US Coast Guard for my official license. Looks like a new chapter in the book of life. Thanks to the instructors (Captain Jack R Sanzalone Jr. , Captain Casey, and Captain Pete. Your help and guidance proved to be invaluable in this endeavor. Also, thanks to the girls in the office that keep thinks running smoothly Angela and Michelle. Great people and a great program! Thanks again. Read Less

I've had my diploma for about 10 months? The longest thing was just waiting for 3 character references!! Procrastination has karma too. I drove from Naples to have The Cape Coral ofc. Do the paperwork review. It takes an hour to get there and the process is A good double check to catch any technical errors. Michelle double checked that all of my info was complete and she made me a copy of every thing she submitted electronically. Audit my application and process it for the USCG. I definitely recommend calling ahead to get an appointment as people walk in and get served if they are not busy and each audit takes about an hour. I had a friend Larry who just happened to be up at the same time I didn't mind letting him go ahead since they had a nice bar just 2 doors down. If you are a planning on having them do an audit before submitting they will help to make sure your paper work is in order to eliminate re submitting. Since it is the holiday season the Miami processing office is slow and backed up and they estimate that it takes a little over a month for the approval process. A week or two just to get into the system. Overall the school is great and instructors are knowledgeable two more classes are in the works according to Capt. Terry K. Mini classes on how to operate a GPS and one for knots. Read Less
