I have ridden dirt bikes and little 110s so I had some experience on bikes.  I recently purchased a street bike, but street riding is much different than trail riding.  I decided to take the weekend beginner class and Black Bag was recommended to me.  I am so glad that I took the class.  Bob is an amazing instructor, with a fun personality. Took my written this morning and headed directly over to Bob at Black Bag for my road test. Passed and now sitting at the DL office waiting to turn it all in. (Nothing to full endorsement in 5hrs! Four of which sitting at the DL office...) He'll walk you through the course, let you do test runs to make sure you understand what you need to do and test you when you're ready. He's also got cheap/safe rentals available so you can use their bikes. Very low pressure, extremely helpful testing here. Far cry from the DMV! outstanding course Robert was not only patient with everyone but he spoke and acted like a human being never once treated us or acted better then the class if we did not understand a subject he would stop the class and everyone would either listen or also help the person who was having trouble one of the best courses I have taken I'm a Colorado First Responder I work with a local coroner's office I was once a member of a local volunteer fire Dept. so I have spent much time in class rooms I was a little saddened when the course came to an end and I got my Certificate because it was over and I had formed a bond with class members ( now Fellow Riders ) and the instructor Robert I am going to Schedule a course for experienced riders in 90-days a small price to pay for knowledge on how to ride safely !!Read Less

I have never ridden a motorcycle before this class and was very nervous from the get go. I signed up for the basic rider course because I have been saying I wanted to learn for years now. I finally took that first step and called to make a reservation, in the middle of winter.  Once the weather cooperated I was put in a weekend class and off I went. It was amazing! Educational, comfortable, enjoyable and full of good information. Out of 6 I was the only person who had never rode before and I was also the only female. I never felt intimidated, uncomfortable or disrespected. I was actually encouraged not only by the instructor Bob but also my peers. I did fail my first test, and you can only test once in a day. I was so bummed but we rescheduled and the next time I passed!!!! Very little classroom timeA lot of riding timeKnowledgeable information from a skilled instructor who is passionate about motorcycle safety. Treated with respect and as an adult, never talked down toI am lucky to have been introduced to Black B.A.G. I question if I would have gotten as much out of any other course. I signed up for a course, having never ridden a motorcycle, and was skeptical that I would even make it through the first day. I ended up passing, and loved the whole experience. Everyone in my class passed, and not because Bob, the instructor, was easy on us, but because he is a fantastic teacher. I really don't know why anyone would take motorcycle training elsewhere, as Black B.A.G. is as good as it gets, and Bob Frank is one of a kind. Oh, Black B.A.G. is now located in Thornton and not Lakewood.This weekend I attended the Basic Rider Course that was taught by coach extraordinaire, Bob Frank. I consider him the "rain man" of the motorcycle world, because he probably knows more about motorcycles and motorcycle safety, then any other human being on the planet. I'm not exaggerating.  My class had 6 people, and was told they limit the class to 8. Most other places have 12 to a class. That meant I had a lot of one-on-one time if needed, and more practice time. Also, the cost for the two day BRC course was $180 ($150 for the weekday class). Compare that to the price of other local BRC classes, and you will find it is substantially less. Black B.A.G. is also on the DMV's preferred training facility list, and the course allows you to test at the class, and if you pass, present your card to the DMV and you get your endorsement. Woot!The class is NOT easy, and was the most physically and mentally draining thing I've done. It was so worth it though. I met some wonderful people, and Bob is a great resource for any rider. I went in the class with NO motorcycle skills, and left with tons of knowledge and skills, and passed all my exams. It has also changed my mind set when I drive my car - all around a better driver.They also offer the Experienced Rider Course, Introductory Course (to see if you like biking), and many other safety courses.
