If you really want to find any minute mistake in your driving, use them as an opportunity;). People are damn serious here lol more than the surgeons so the atmosphere when you give test makes you more nervous..Although i was confident as i was practicing almost daily from past 1 month for 2 hours.. , Some of the reasons they make to fail you are for eg:....if you don't have hand over hands on turning wheels, or you don't straighten up your wheels on stops or signals, or if some times your car touches the other lanes dotted lines on turns, or you stop after the white lines in one of your stops, or you drove in the right side of the housing community even if no car is parked. Please see sometimes and not everytime......All these are counted as errors and adds up on points for you to fail eventually(20+ you are failed). Its not about loosing money, its about loosing confidence in your own driving. After all, we all are humans and not a machine to be so perfectionist in all the stops or signals. I really wish i could watch how the examiners drive and avoid touching the white lines on each turns lol ...........P.S:- I gave the test in some other center and passed with the same driving skills. I have used this Drive Safe location for one of my kids and we just signed up for a second kid. I appreciated that we could sign up for class times using the online system and that we could schedule at other locations if one class was full. Also liked that we could take one or two classes at a time rather than scheduling all 28 hours in a single week. The drives were easy to schedule as well, but I needed to plan ahead as they filled up early. Doing the drivers test through Drive Safe was great because I didn't have to schedule it months ahead of time, but if it hadn't been included in our package I would have done it for free through the DMV and dealt with the hassle rather than pay extra. DriveSafe provided us with a 2-hour lesson & a drive test the following day. We only needed this limited service because our daughter had been driving for over 2 years with her permit- she just wasn't anxious to get her license.  DriveSafe did a terrific job. The 2-hour lesson was informative & gave her the confidence to take the test the next day.  She easily passed her test.  DriveSafe's instructor & testing agent were professional, kind, & informative. The school seemed very busy, but they were organized & ready for our appointments.  The central phone number/booking agents were also top notch. We had trouble finding the Highlands Ranch location & they assisted us & called the location to let them know we were running late. I recommend DriveSafe to anyone needing drivers training/testing services. Read Less

I came to the US 8 years ago and I settled nicely on the East Coast where I did not need to drive and owning a car was a burden rather than a convenience. In March of 2017 I learned two things: 1. I was coming to Denver and 2. I needed a car for the first time in my life. Daunting as the task seemed, I took a few driving lessons before coming to Denver and enrolling with DriveSafe. The enrollment was smooth, a mere phone call and classes were scheduled at MY earliest convenience. On one drizzly evening of my first class, I huddled on the corner at the SE Aurora office. Enter Ron: His broad grin and effervescent character spread through the room like a wildfire. The usual small talk turned into a significant conversation to find where I was in my learning. Not once did I feel judged or doubted, instead Ron started to build my confidence even before we stepped into the car. I have to admit that I am not the easiest to impress but I couldn't help it when Ron used references from my work to teach me how to drive. "Look, you check your patients' vital signs every morning right?" I nodded in agreement and Ron needed no further encouragement, "Now think about driving through an intersection as checking those vitals, your left is the temperature, your right is the heart rate, then the back, well, that's your physical exam doc."  Whoah - that made just perfect sense! I could go forever about Ron's witty banter but I think the summary of it is that Ron's rich and diverse cultural and professional background makes him unique in that he can instantly connect with anyone. He is a compassionate teacher who meets his students where they are, and does everything to teach not just basic driving but essential tips of the road. I begged the office to schedule me for all my subsequent classes and road test with Ron, and everyone duly obliged. Today, I am an independent driver and I feel very confident about not only keeping myself safe on the road but also looking out for fellow road users. My sincerest gratitude to Ron and DriveSafe. I highly recommend this school for all adult learners. Read Less

This DriveSafe location was quite professional for my son to take the drive test. The Tester, Zac, was friendly, prompt, polite, and informative to instruction with my son throughout the experience. He shared with my son how he did after the test with positive feedback. I would definitely recommend this avenue to take the drive test as opposed to going to the DMV where it can be very difficult to schedule an appointment that is not weeks or months away, and also to feel comfortable with their testers while feeling nervous anyway. This was definitely worth it. Read Less

What an awful experience!  I payed 70 dollars to be treated like shit by driving instructor Mike Alessi.  When I first arrived for my appointment I climbed the two flights of stairs to the office only to be told to go back down because he was finishing up with a mother and son, and he didn't want me to hear anything that could "help me with my test."  I went back down to the bottom floor and waited by the door to be called up.  He called me after a few more minutes only to let me sit while he completed paperwork and chatted with the mom and son.  He had a very superior demeanor, even with the boy's mother, but there is no way to get your money back from this company if you don't cancel a day ahead.  I tried to talk to Mike after we were alone, only to be told that anything I said to him would prejudice him against me.  Huh?  I thought these testing centers were supposed to create a friendly atmosphere.  You could at least try to be as nice as the actual DMV!  I was also told that the driving instructor could not speak to me during our driving test, except to give commands.  There is no such rule, he is just a very unfriendly guy!  This company has you use their vehicle rather than your own, which didn't seem like an issue when I signed up, but the car has a tiny back window and does not appear to be well maintained.  The car's check engine light was on, and one of the turn signals was blinking quickly, usually a sign a bulb is out.  I mentioned this to him only to be blown off and told everything was fine.  Long story short, he failed me at the drive test.  I know this will sound like sour grapes, but this guy was aggressive toward me from the first to the last.  When we got back to the office after the test, he proceeded to critique my driving bit by bit in the most unfriendly way possible.  I was docked for pulling too close to a car at a stop light.  He said that he could not see the car's wheels touching the ground.  I questioned this being a valid deduction, and he could not find such a rule in the Colorado driving manual.  I think this company needs to take a solid look at itself.  What percentage of drivers are failed by certain testers?  Is it because they think you will retest with them for an extra $40?  No way!  I went to Learn to Drive the next day and had a great experience.  Do NOT go here, and if you do, ask who your instructor will be.  If they say Mike, run!  Also take a look at the BBB reviews on this company.  I wish I had! EXCELLENT, all-encompassing, professional, and results-oriented program.  DriveSafe tought our son to drive -- and there's no question he's the best driver in the family now.  The program included the class (he took it at Kent Denver in the summer) culminating in a permit, several driving lessons (and they came across town to pick him up for each one!!), and the driving test as well.  We also took their defensive skills day class, which was a lot of fun for him and also taught him important safety skills.  We wouldn't even consider going elsewhere for our daughter when it's her turn.  We are truly grateful for how patient, accommodating, and talented the DriveSafe folks turned out to be.  BEST CHOICE out there -- and last I checked, the pricing is also a bit more reasonable than other popular programs in town.  Can't recommend DriveSafe enough.  Thank you for keeping my son safe and his parents sane! :) Read Less

Not impressed. In the driving "classes" the teacher said they were basically there to  "fill up" the required class time. Kids were drawing pictures and other useless busy work, instead of learning valuable information about safe driving.Drivesafe advertises "2 hour behind the wheel" drives, but the instructors take 10-15 minutes of that time for paperwork and other administrative protocol which should NOT be included in the "behind the wheel" time. Saying the student will receive 2 full hours of "behind the wheel" is false advertising. If it's not 120 minutes, then say so!This time adds up when you consider that out of five 2-hr behind the wheel sessions, the student ends up with not 10 hours, but 8.5 or 9 hours instead. That's one paid hour GONE. And when you consider what they charge for that hour that they "take away", it's a pretty penny out of the customer's pocket. I will say that the driving instructors themselves seemed to do an okay job. Not a whole lot of instruction, but our son reported that they were pretty relaxed. We were told they had a money back guarantee for any remaining lessons when we signed up. They said that if a customer wasn't satisfied or moved away or something prior to finishing out the lessons, they would refund the unused portion. But when we decided to cash out on the rest of this joke of a program, we were given the run around and then a huge hassle. Deborah at the Tech Center said she had NEVER made this verbal promise to us and refused to give us the refund. After speaking with someone higher up in the chain of command (which seems to be the standard mode of operations with this company) she called us back and said that her supervisor would authorize a credit for the rest of our purchase. Bottom line, we were very disappointed with not only the program itself, but the people running it and would not recommend it. If you're a decent driver, you can teach your own kid to drive far better than this company.  Save your money.UPDATE: Since writing this review, I have seen TWO car accidents on the road in my area involving Drivesafe vehicles. Hmmm.UPDATE:Regarding the owners comment, he did not address a single issue in my review. Just a blanket statement that their company is good. Says a lot!

Says a lot! Read Less

yeah, this is needed for the kid to get their license, but the classes themselves seem to have been a waste of time and I don't think it made my kid a better driver.
