Not only were the instructors amazing, but the whole course in itself was wonderful. I had some trouble on the range and they were very supportive, and helpful, and did not make me feel rushed or dumb. I would recommend anyone to take this course. Great instructors, great classroom set up, safe range, safe bikes, and safe equipment. Fair priced for everything you get in the course. I would recommend 100% to anyone who wants to ride, or needs a refresher on how to ride, and the basics. Read Less

These guys reeeeally care about your education, they're extremely patient and they are all very good at teaching. I had to re take my skills test and had Dave working with me. He went out of his way to give me one on one coaching out on the bike for as long as i wanted or until i felt comfortable and confident enough to retake my test. He gave out very useful pointers and gave very good and clear motorcycle tips and directions. You can tell these guys love what they do. Thanks again Motorcycle Training Academy! Read Less

Just successfully completed the Basic Motorcycle Safety course at the a Motorcycle Training Academy. It was a 5 star experience, the RiderCoaches were skilled and patient. Many of the students had never ridden a motorcycle let alone operated a motorcycle. Prep included an online eCourse so we could all begin on the same page in class. The actual two day course had plenty of riding practice, and students had plenty of options regarding motorcycles they could use for the course. Did I mention 'patience?' Actually, the RiderCoaches should be anointed sainthood. A testament to their skill and instruction, the group passed! Although there is no guarantee students pass, Motorcycle Training Academy is totally dedicated to helping each student gain the confidence and operator skills offering remedial training and review, to include 'range' time and instruction. I was impressed with Leslie Larson's commitment to get the enrollment correct, and her and the office staff's timely documentation I needed for my out-of-state licensing requirements. Kudos to the MTA for getting our class up-to-speed! Read Less

I took the beginners riders course. The first day was very cold and snowy. We got through as much as the weather would allow safely. The next day was beautiful. The instructors are very helpful and genuinely care. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to ride. I did not give them 5 stars because before leaving after taking my written test I heard what appeared to be the owner I do not know her by name but she rudely interrupted the gentleman giving us our written test demanding he give her his time slips so that "he can get paid". She was in a hurry and had to pickup her kids from church?? Either way it was incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional for her to treat or talk to an employee that way. Other than that it was a great experience. Read Less

I resisted the idea of taking this class because I have been riding my whole life and it seemed like a waste of money to be told what you already know. So I passed the state's written exam and got myself a permit. Then I took the riding test and failed miserably. I had no idea what to expect and so I never practiced the maneuvers they test on. That's why I decided to take the class and I'm glad I did. ... The first thing I learned was that my very first riding teacher (my step-dad) got a few things wrong. I was horrified as the instructor demonstrated how to fitness the clutch to get fine control of power to the wheel. As a kid, I was yelled at for trying that move. "You'll burn the clutch up!" So I spent my whole life finessing the throttle. So maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. I'm glad I spent the time and money on the course. The instructors were just fantastic and their feedback helped me improve my skills a whole lot. I passed the riding test with ease. See More Read Less

My husband took the BRC1 class a few years ago before he had his own motorcycle as a refresher (it had been years since he rode) and also to get his endorsement without owning his own bike. He got a Harley a while later and I got tired of looking at the back of his helmet. When I started thinking about getting my own motorcycle my husband and all the members of the Pikes Peak HOG Chapter told me the BRC1 course was a must. When I got my motorcycle for Christmas I figured h...e would at least kind of teach me in our cul-de-sac or in a nearby parking lot a little--but he wouldn't let me on that thing until I had taken this class. So I took it the first chance I had (Jan 14-15)! The teachers were great and I learned a lot, including how to ride, of course. I went from never having ridden a motorcycle, to passing the test, within the time frame of the BRC1 class. I was impressed with the commitment all instructors had to each rider learning what we needed to know as well as passing the riding test. Garrett was super as were the instructors who helped out on the riding course. I learned a bit from each of them. I highly recommend this class and this school to anyone wanting to learn to ride and/or wanting to improve their skills. My husband and I plan to take more classes in the future. See More Read Less

I might give a better review had I been able to ride today, but on the second day you have to do s turns and a uturn to start out on the second day of a weekend class and if you fail = they take you off the bike! So I sat out the whole SUN of a weekend class - to have to sign up again for another round. However, on their behalf - everyone else passed except me and I did fine on the written part of the test. What can I say - I am 57 and never driven a motor cycle before yesterday! Managed 5 hours yesterday - wasn't pretty all the time - but managed. Still alive to try another day and will master this, just like skiing, which took a darn long time, driving, riding a bike, and other things... Thinking about buying a motorcycle, or just bought one?Sign up for a BasicRiders course ASAP. Seriously it might just save your life. The BasicRiders course is geared for people just starting out, you'll be up riding on the first day, learning more advanced techniques that could very well save your life on the second. If you don't pass the cert. on the second day, you can show up another weekend, free of charge to practice, and then retake the course. If you already know how to ride, they offer other specialty courses to help you get better and maximize your bike and your abilities, but I'm focusing on the BasicRiders course. If you're just learning, take it. One weekend, you'll be introduced to the fundamentals and help mitigate the risks associated with riding. Read Less
