Hard to believe that it is so easy to come across such genuine people. This afternoon I was talking to front officer ( very charming young man, I am not able to recall the name right now ! Sorry!) at the Institute about my circumstances which are dictating me to get the D/L urgently. Ed was hearing the conversation , voluntarily came forward and offered to Test me right away ( it was past 4:30 PM). instead of letting me wait till next week He spent a good hour diligently testing my driving skill and up on thoroughly satisfied, passed me in the test and now I will get my D/L tomorrow. .Thanks Ed ! Ed is a thorough, patient and skillful driving instructor. After taking several lessons with him over a month-long period, I went from barely being able to drive, to feeling confident changing lanes at 80mph on the highway. Needless to say, he prepared me to pass the driver's test, and I did so on the first try. Ed was great. Albeit my 1pm appointment didn’t start until almost 1:25pm. A few of the judgements were a bit subjective. Example: I was marked down for stopping too close to a vehicle at a light. I could clearly see the bottom of the vehicles tires, which I’m aware is the recommend lawful stopping distance, but Ed who is shorter than I could not. Thus, he marked me down for this. I am 29 and waited a very long time to get my license. I'd failed my test when I was teenager and then lived in cities. After so many years of not driving, I'd kind of built up a fear of it. Eventually, I decided it was time (13 years late I guess) to get back on the road. I was VERY nervous! But, after months of practicing with my boyfriend, my nerves eventually lessened about driving and I grew more confident in my abilities. That said, I was still super anxious of the driving test. I decided to take the road test with CDI because I didn't have to worry about providing my own vehicle as they provide one for you. I'm so glad I went with them! I took my test with Ed and his easy going personality immediately calmed my nerves. He was kind while also very professional. I was able to focus on my test, driving abilities, and his clear instructions. Afterwards, even though I passed, he very nicely walked me through the small things I could improve upon, which as a new driver, I found very helpful. If you have any driving anxiety or fear about taking the driving test, I would recommend going with CDI as it certainly felt less chaotic than the DMV and Ed was really wonderful. Thank you CDI! Ed was our driving instructor/tester for my dad who is getting up there is years. Ed was super nice and very patient. He had my dad drive in busy Boulder traffic and my dad drive under al kinds of driving situations. We used Colorado Driving Institute for my wife's mom who is also in the elderly category and he was wonderful that time too. My daughter paid $65 for a drive test, for 6/22/17 at 3pm. between school orientation for fall and many other things going on we arrived several minutes before her scheduled time and realized she had forgotten her permit. After listening to the instructor talk down to a person in the office, we decided to wait in the lobby, as we were embarrassed for the person. The instructor asked if we had an appointment and we explained the situation. He said he could do a drive at 5:30, but it would cost an additional $30. We decided against and left. Fifteen minutes later we got a call from the instructor who stated he would only charge $15, but he wasn't going to do it for free. We did not return. It was our mistake, but you lost a customer for $15. Hope it was worth it? Keeping $65 for doing nothing doesn't seem right. Read Less

Made an appointment for 3, was ignored when I walked in an Wasn't helped for over 30 min. I'm 22 and am in the process of getting my license back after a DUI and thought that instead of doing the driving test through the dmv that this place would be a better replacement.
