My aunt, my older sister, and I all did our driving training with Ron, and every one of us passed our driving tests on the first try! He is extremely patient (even when you think you messed up REALLY bad), and he's always quick to tell you how you can improve. He gives detailed instructions on how to drive safety, and does amazing with preparing you for your test. Instead of completely controlling your practice sessions, he allows you to correct your errors on your own and only intervenes when absolutely necessary. At first I thought that three 2-hour sessions wouldn't be enough to teach me to drive, but it was honestly all I really needed. He gave me lots of helpful tips in a short amount of time, plus he made sure I was comfortable driving around all of the different Tracy DMV test routes. All in all, I would definitely recommend Ron's Driving School, especially Ron himself. He really helped my whole family pass our tests, and now we're all really good drivers :) Read Less

Ron’s driving school is THE WORST driving school I have experienced. On my daughters first lesson, the instructor held the wheel for the majority of the time, never left the neighborhood, and she was on the phone and texting while she was supposed to be teaching. Second lesson was much improved with an instructor who actually taught her something. Third lesson the good instructor had left the company (wonder why). Ended up with an instructor who scared my daughter into thinking she would fail the test. I had to rebuild her confidence so she could take the test, which she passed thanks to my instruction. When I complained to the school about the unprofessional behavior of the two drivers I got BS about how they don’t “normally “ get complaints. I don’t believe for a second that my daughter is the only one who had two out of three bad experiences. Also, the instructors gave bad advice to my daughter and friends of hers about it being okay to speed to “go with the flow of traffic”. Are you kidding me? Don’t go here. You will be undoing the damage. I thought they were the only game in town. And they may be. But if I had it to do over again I would go out of town. You don’t need the stress. Read Less

I took Ron's driving school and find its behind the wheel classes very helpful. I took 3 classes (2 prior and 1 on exam day) before applying for my behind the wheel test (06/30/2107). I had been training with my Husband and was tired of all the yelling ;) After taking the classes I found considerable improvement in my driving. My instructor Lindsey was very patient and tolerant. She made me feel relaxed and kept giving me useful tips and best practices during the classes. Lindsey also kept me motivating and during the exam day, she made me feel confident, that helped me a lot Also, my class scheduling was a good experience, after dropping voice mail, Maria called us promptly for scheduling. Today was my Husbands driving test and we went from Fremont to Manteca and Ron was there on time and also he appeared to be very nice guy. My husband had a 2 hour lesson with Ron which helped him pass the test. I had my first driving class today and I got this lady I forgot her name. At first she talked to me like I didn't know anything and she looked nervous which made me nervous. She also was talking softly I almost didn't hear her. She would seem like she was annoyed. After a while of driving around I was a little more confident and we started having a conversation and got to know each other more. She's pretty I guess and I did learn some stuff. She has somewhat of patience. But she does seem to get annoyed and nervous. For my next lesson I really want to get Ron!! I heard he's great & has a lot of patience. Read Less

I called Rons Driving School because I had a driving test Monday, and I wanted someone to make sure I would be able to pass the test. My driving lesson was scheduled right before my driving test early in the morning. When Ron first arrived at my house and I got in the car, we went over where certain things were in the car. After that, we drove off. He continuously told me I was driving too slow, although I was driving the speed limit. I am a new driver, and I did not understand why an instructor would tell me to go over the speed limit. I live in Stockton, but my driving test was in Lodi. I wanted to be able to practice my driving around where my test would be that day. While getting ready to get onto the freeway, Ron kept telling me to change lanes in an intersection. I finally had to tell him that I wasn't supposed to do that. When we got to Lodi, we drove around the dmv. After a while, I told Ron that I was going to calm my mom so that she would be able to meet me at dmv so that we could be on time. I guess he was listening to my conversation because he asked me if my mom was white. When I told him yes, he looked at me confined and said "You're white?" (Mind you I'm black and white, just darker). He continued to ask me if I'm adopted, etc. I felt like this was very rude. Even if I was adopted, people usually don't ask these things. Overall I felt like it was a bad experience. I received my license, so this is not an "I'm angry because I didn't pass" review. I was treated very poorly by Ron. You would think that since it is RONS DRIVING SCHOOL that Ron himself wouldn't be so rude. He really needs to work on his people skills before he has no more business. Read Less

Sooo, made an appt. a week ago, My son is super busy with baseball, basketball, football, so he was patiently waiting to take his lesson today at 3:30 today, but received a phone call at 3:25 saying they could not make it because they lost the car? Are you kidding me, you are a driving school and you lost your car. haha Want to reschedule during the Warriors game, Umm no I don't think so. Oh and if I want my money, I can go pick it up from them, you have got to be kidding me. Don't recommend, and won't give them a dime. I failed my first driving test, so I decided to take some driving lessons so I could pass the next time around. I immediately scheduled my second driving test for 2 weeks after, and I got some lessons with Ron a couple days before my exam and I passed! My daughter just finished her last lesson with Rons Driving School and I was impressed.they showed up on time, each time.  On the last lesson,  we were late and they waited for us.  They could have easily left and charged us but the instructor, Lindsey, waited and it was much appreciated.  It is worth the investment and I highly recommend them. Loved this driving school and I had a great time on my lessons with the instructors. I had Kim for 2 out of 3 of my classes and she does a great job going over all the rules of driving and she made me feel very confident and prepared for my driver's test. Scheduled my sister for a 2 hour driving lesson for 9am on a Sunday... Her instructor didn't show. No call, no answer either on the office line. Apparently their office is closed on Sundays, then why schedule an appointment on a day they're closed. We waited an hour for them to show up before we gave up and continued with the rest of our day. This school was the worst experience EVERA few years ago my oldest daughter was learning to drive so we purchased the complete package from Ron's driving school. Something happened with my daughters social security card and took a long time to straighten out so she did not get her permit until a year after we purchased the package. After we got the permit and came back to schedule the behind the wheel they said because we were past a year they no longer will offer the behind the wheel or give us a refund. WHAT? I did not read that ANYWHERE when we signed up. $300 bucks down the drain.What They did not know is that she is the oldest of 6 kids. My other 5 have and will continue to go though a different more professional driving school with way better customer service! My two 15 year old boys are about to go though driving school now. Aloha, I randomly researching for driving schools in Tracy, because I didn't realize that my permit test was actually expiring with in next week. To which I came across this School. The prices were reasonable so I booked two separate appointments, which were $95 each for two hours with Lindsey, who was really helpful and really heart warming. She helped me a lot but I didn't feel like I was up to par with my with the necessary skills I needed for my driving test. So then about a week later I booked the 6 hour drivers training with Ron which was $275. So how that works is that he worked with me for three days straight for two hours a day.  And just let me say, every time he took me out for drivers training I felt more confident due to him walking me through the whole training, Without him I would of never passed my drivers test so I am thankful. My son took a two-hour lesson from Ron himself. Ron was very professional and extremely nice. His staff that helped us and took our payment over the phone was very nice friendly and helpful. We had tried one other school prior to Ron's driving school, they said they were full and refused to look past the current week for an appointment.I find it extremely unfair that there are several other positive reviews for Ron's driving school but it is not counted in his total overall review.
