Bob makes the student feel at ease, spends time teaching basics, and such a professional. My kids feel less anxiety and more confident and comfortable with him. He is trustworthy.He is also honest on the driving skills. He also takes payment plans. My son has been a great driver the last 3 years. This is the worst driving instructor I've ever had. He made up, yes, MADE UP rules for me to follow, resulting in me failing the test twice. This driving school deserves no stars whatsoever, in fact they should not be in business (especially being around our children). The owner Bobby is the most unprofessional individual I have ever had the non-pleasure of dealing with in my life. You would think they value the customer experience, and care about making a profit, but judging by the way this man conducted himself its puzzling to me how he justifies his behavior as appropriate in anyway. 1. He showed up at my residence and began on giving his unsolicited opinions on the apartments on my street (which ones are bad, and which ones are really bad). I was not hiring him for real-estate advice.2. He asked if my daughter has ever driven, I said a little in Oxnard as I used to live there, then he said "oh you lived there, you're doing much better now huh?!". Excuse me?! How does he know where I've lived in Oxnard (or if it's better or worst). I was getting insulted by his rude comments. He told me he refuses to service the Oxnard area, especially "La Colonia" area because its dangerous. I'm sorry, but its only dangerous if you are in gangs and live that life style. So, I guess kids in Oxnard don't deserve to get driving lessons because of where they live. This man kept putting his foot in his mouth.3. This man was obligating me to provide him with my work information, I told him I am currently on a leave and not working. He told me he cannot move forward with the lesson unless I provide him with my work information. I found this to be a really weird request as I was paying cash, and my work has nothing to do with my daughter's driving lesson. He said sorry but "company policy", so I walked away.Feeling extremely discriminated because my daughter could not take driving lessons due to me not being able to provide work information, I called the man back to inform him, he was discriminating my daughter because of my work status, and also mentioned to him how insulting it was to hear all his judgements about people in Oxnard since I am from there and of Mexican descent (Oxnard is predominately people of Mexican heritage). I told him he is no better than Mexicans, as he himself is an Indian minority then he yelled "I am not Indian, I am an American Citizen" (in an Indian accent). I told him I was going to report him, he started threatening to call the police, and said "bye Mexican" and hung up the phone on me.I've lived in T.O. for nearly 5 years, and the one time I've experienced racism was by an Indian man with a major chip on his shoulder. Do not give this man business. Do not trust your children with him. If he's able to be so unprofessional and cruel with his words, I can not imagine how he would be around our children. I wouldn't listen to the people that rated one star (or the Yelp reviews for that matter). Bobby is the best driving instructor ever. He's patient and always attentive to his students. I've never heard him yell or scream at his students. I was at a point of giving up to drive, but Bobby pursued me to keep trying until I passed my DMV test. Bobby genuinely wants his students to pass the driving test. He offers literally everything he's got to get you from not being able to drive to being confident on the road. We question his knowledge and qualification as a driving instructor. Some of the instruction she received conflicted with road laws and caused much confusion when taking the driving test. She Received less than 6 hours of instruction and there were times when another student was in the car when he picked her up for her appointment. In addition, we had to go to AAA and pay for two extra hours due to the fact that she needed more instruction in order for her to feel like she felt she was knowledgeable for the drivers test. Terrible customer service and pricing policies!! Pricing on website states '$285 for 6 hours in Newbury Park' for which this is the city they are based. They charge $10 less in the San Fernando Valley. The rep asked where we live and when he learned we reside behind gates, the price jumped to $300 - stating 'it takes time to get through the gates.' I don't see why people are giving him bad reviews. I already knew how to drive before I took lessons, so I only needed the lessons to get the 6 hours I needed. So I chose this one because it was the cheapest. He was a little hard to understand at times, but for the most part I knew what he was saying. He seemed to understand that I had prior experience, but he also trained me to be able to pass the test. I passed first try and I don't know how I would have been able to do that if Bob hadn't guided me through the whole test. I recommend him to people that already have prior experience and just need the hours. I also recommend him to people who are like me and needed to find the cheapest option. Read Less

This driving school definitely taught me how a lot of rules i didn't know before hand. My instructor was a really nice guy and knew what he was talking about. Very affordable compared to other schools and worth it in the end considering I passed my test with only two errors. Highly suggest!!! For starters, the most horrible attitude possible for such a situation. Bob "Bobbie" starts the relationship with a "contract" The contract is obviously written by Bobby and states that his "attorney" will go after you if you speak or post negatively about him. Obviously he has had problems with the truth with past students. It looks like the 5 star reviews on google are written by Bobby. Unfortunately, I didn't read the Yelp reviews first. I would have avoided this guy at all cost. His prices are low for a reason. Bobby speaks with a heavy accent that was hard to understand for my son. The few times I would ask Bobby questions, he would act rushed and put out that I asked. He would tell me that his answering questions is taking time away from the lesson. Before I took a lesson with Bob I thought I was a good driver, however after my first lesson with Bob I quickly learned many new tips, rules, and tricks that I hadn't known before. I must thank Bob for instilling confidence and also teaching me as much as he possibly can. The day of the drive test I used Bob's vehicle, but we had to wait longer than normally. Three strikes and you're out Life Safety Driving School. Strike one - my daughter was asked to pull over to read driving material in the middle of her lesson while Bob did paperwork. Strike two - Bob told my daughter to park in a shopping center so he could use the restroom (which is fine). 20 minutes later Bob returned and included this in the hour-long lesson. Strike 3 - I had a few questions for Bob before the third lesson. I was suspicious that Bob's answers were not truthful. I told him that I will be riding along for the lesson. DO NOT, under any circumstances, go to this guy. I wish I'd read the Yelp reviews instead of the Google ones, which are all suspiciously good, because EVERY review here is bad. He has terrible customer service skills and kept on talking about other customers with parents who were doctors and judges, as if he was trying to impress us. The only thing it showed us was how even smart people can make mistakes. He talked on the phone during the lesson, even when I had questions and has a ridiculous 3-month wait to finish the lessons and called it "the law", when a reasonable time to finish the lessons is one month. Wow, I'm surprised by all the negative reviews.  We used Bobby for our two boys and they both had a great experience.  He does have a strong accent (which may explain some of the complaints) but is never rude.  My expectation for a driving instructor is that they do their job well, teach the kids safety and proper driving, and prepare them for the test.  Bobby did all of these things.  We did have to cancel on him for one of our appointments and he waived the re-schedule fee that is stated in the contract which we appreciated.  Bobby was always available when we called and very good about setting up appointments.  He was always on time.  The best compliment I can give actually comes from the DMV drive test employees.  While my wife was waiting at the car with my son and some of the DMV employees they asked who his driving instructor was.  When she said it was Bobby at Life Safety Driving School they literally said, "he will have no problem with the test, all of his students are always prepared and always pass".  We appreciate Bobby and his work, we have talked with plenty others who feel the same, and we have referred him to others who have never been disappointed.  He's also the least expensive we have found in town. He told me "be quiet & stop talking!!" ,when I was merely asking when my granddaughter could get her next lesson.  He refuses to make appointments in advance, wants you to "call back in 3 weeks". Worst driving school ever! The guy Bobby has absolutely no idea what he is doing. Good thing I had a little bit of driving experience before I started taking his "classes" because if I had no idea how to operate a car it could have ended very badly! He expect everyone to know how to drive already. He was really annoying and the only reason I took the course till the end was because my mom had paid in advance and he wouldn't return our money. He was late to every single one of our courses and one time I even asked if I could reschedule because i had school during the time we had our next class scheduled and he said it was fine. Then he called me 14 times and left 3 voice mails asking where I was. I called him back and told him that we had rescheduled and he yelled at me because he said that we had rescheduled a different one. Which was a lie because I had written down every course that I was supposed to take with him. One time I was wearing shorts and I have a tattoo on my leg and he kept looking at it and telling me that I had a pretty tattoo and pretty legs. He would talk about personal life all the time and he told me to tell him something about mine and I told him that I lived with my best friend which happened to be homosexual and he looked disgusted and he said that he couldn't understand how men could be with men. Which made me really angry that he was judging my personal life. My mom even paid for him to let me use his car for the driving test and he made me late to my own driving test! Read Less

I just called for you on 08/22 to schedule my first lesson with you and the guy who answered the phone spoke in a very poor english and I had to repeat and spell several times my address (and he refused vigorousl my suggestion to send him by email my address, once he couldn't understand me). Ok, then he said he got my address, and today he called me again, I thought it would be just a call to confirm my schedule, but he asked my address AGAIN. And I patiently spelled again for him, we said goodbye and he called ONE MORE TIME because he said I didn't spelled very well and at this time I started to became nervous because he was rude and NEVER accepted my suggestion to send by email or SMS my address. I was nervous about driving when I got my permit so much that I didn't drive for 9 months. Life Safety Driving School helped me build confidence and pass my test on the first try.
