My son took his first driving lesson last week with Britt. She was AMAZING! My son connected with her right away. She taught him so much all while camping his nerves and giving him confidence. This business was EXCELLENT from the very first time that I called. My son turned 16 on thanksgiving and to make my sons birthday extra special, they found an appointment the day before his birthday (it was set for 4 days after), just so he could start driving. I really like Safeway Driving School.  I purchased the combination pack of both on-line driving course (you can take a one day class at their facility or do it on-line) and the three block class for driving instruction.  I think I paid roughly $350 for my daughter a few years ago and paid something similar for my son, who is taking his second two-hour driving class in a few weeks.  The people that work in the office are always friendly and able to accommodate me with scheduling the classes and the instructors are all friendly and professional.  Hopefully my son will be taking his final class later in the summer, prior to getting his driver's license.  I would highly recommend this school! The instructors are good & scheduling is easy. You must teach your kids to look over your right shoulder when entering a bike lane to make a right hand turn since the instructors won’t teach them that!!! My daughter just failed her behind the wheel test b/c neither instructor she had in last 2 weeks taught her that! And both of them took her on the test course! No mention on this critical error. I guess it’s Shame on us for relying on them to be thorough & we’re paying the price for it. Hope you don’t end up in that same boat. Read Less

After finishing my written test, I did extensive research on driving schools. I picked Safeway based on their reviews and their prices were also the least when compared to other schools in Simi Valley. I opted for their 6 hour driving lessons. I had 3 different teachers for my 3 classes and all of them were fantastic! They are detail oriented, patient, clear and make sure you understand. They taught me to drive on the highway, DMV area to familiarize with the roads. Since I didn't have a car for the test I also picked their '1 hour practice before the test + using their car for the test' package (I don't remember the exact name :D) which was very helpful! They booked my DMV appointment since I was using their car and were very nice when I had to change my dates for the test and driving classes. I give them the credit for passing my test in the first try and would recommend them everyone. Read Less

We hit the jackpot when we chose Safeway Driving School.  It started with the customer service from Liz and Ash.  They were very responsive to voicemails left on their phone.  They were extremely prompt and accommodating to our rigorous schedules.  Both my son and daughter excelled on their driving tests after William for my son and Sharon for my daughter taught each of them rules of the road and confidence building techniques to get them through the drivers license test.  They are in  Simi Valley but they provide services for Newbury Park and Camarillo.  We all give them a huge heartfelt Thank You!!! I feel bad for the people that collect carts at Target because Safeway does part of their driving lessons there and always take four carts to the back of the parking lot and never put them away. Unless they made a deal with target, I don't see why they feel comfortable making a profit while just adding to the work of high school and college kids with their laziness. Read Less

They made it easy for me to sign up and get started with the driving lessons. I requested for a male instructor and got William. He was patient and encouraging. He made sure he was clear with the tips and gave me skills to use for the rest of my life not and not just to pass the DMV test. I'd recommend them and suggest you use the car you practice in for the DMV test. I passed the test yesterday and I think it was because they helped me be stay cool, calm and confident. Read Less

GREAT EXPERIENCE..DEFINITELY RECOMMEND  I want to THANK Safeway Driving School for assisting our son with his driving classes and preparing him to successfully pass his driving test at the DMV.  The  Instructors WILLIAM, JOHN are very professional and picked up our son at our home for his classes.  They were polite and prompt, knowledgeable and most of all PATIENT with teaching our teen how to drive safely on the road. The manager ASH went out of his way to accommodate our son on his day off and pick him up at our home for one final lesson before taking him to the DMV HIMSELF, so my son could use their vehicle to take the driving test with. I took classes here and was able to get my permit within one week of beginning my driver's education program. The workers are very kind and they care about your safety as well as the safety others. After my behind-the-wheel lessons, I was able to get my license with zero mistakes on the final drive test. Hi I went there for a job interview with Ash who could be the owner, Im not sure. He met me out in the parking lot. Very friendly man he is. I liked him since we first spoke on the phone days before this interview. He was a man who didn't say it would happen and then it not happen. I like that a lot. There's nothing worse than a company you represent not having integrity. His office was clean and inviting. He sat me down and we began talking. I was nervous, I don't know why, but I was. By the end of interview I wasn't nervous anymore. During the interview he included.....I want to say Becky. I believe that was her name. A really lovely woman who you could tell was his right hand person. She is professional and she was caring about hiring the right person for the schedule they needed covered. I was that person as my schedule was perfect for the hours they needed covered. My only ticket my entire life I got back in january 2012 for speeding. Having no other tickets and not knowing I'd be interested in a driving instructor position I just paid the ticket and didn't opt for driving school like I should have. My point I want to say is that while talking with these two wonderful people I really got a sense they were good and honest people. They asked me questions about how I would handle certain situations and how patient and on time I am when discussing my schedule I'd have if I got the job. I could tell they cared and took their business very serious. They have a far more serious task at hand with their business, and that's to produce safe and confident drivers and not just take peoples money. I believe they are a good place to learn the skills needed to drive a vehicle on our roads and highways. From my interview with them I gathered they won't pass you if you aren't really ready to drive a vehicle on the road safely. I like that a lot. You know how you see a terrible and dangerous driver on the road and you say out loud (maybe to them) "where the h*ll did they get their driver's license?" Well, I will from now on know they didn't get their training at this driving school. I just thought a review from the inside (almost inside) would be valuable to those wanting to spend their hard earned cash wisely. P.S. Here's something funny that has nothing to do with the 5 star rating I gave this business When I got home from this interview that day my friend said to me "you knew right you have stickers on the back of your pants, and a price tag?" Of course I didn't and could only laugh about it. I had just purchased new clothes and decided to wear them last minute that morning (but I had no mirrors to look into (house remodel) before taking off so I missed the giant (more than two) stickers still on the back. I bet they see everything in that business. I could have written a book on that subject had I gotten the job. Good luck to you Ash with your business.
