This review is for SIMON - very professional, good trainer. He is good at teaching and building confidence, explains well with pen and paper. Makes sure you have fully understood and also following his instructions . Take 4-5 classes with him to get a good practice before your test.

If you are a first time driver and nervous, I would not recommend this school. George is a patient instructor and teaches you the rules well, but sometimes gives instructions in an agitated manner while you are driving.On my first day of lesson, we had a clear communication about the time and date of my driving test. George even wrote it down and confirmed it several times. In spite of that, on the day of my test, he had scheduled somebody else. He blamed me for not calling him earlier. He quickly arranged for another car (Susan's car), on which I had no practice. I was already nervous and this fiasco made it worse. The car was also small and drove poorly. Obviously, I failed.I went to another school and got more practice with an instructor who was much more calm, friendly and made me confident. However, that school does not let you take early morning tests.The best thing about Oxford Driving School is that they are ready for early morning driving tests (earlier than 8 am). So I booked a car with them just for the 7:30 am test. Martin showed up with his car on time.I was confident this time, but Martin had other plans. He kept trying to get me to take more lessons with them and kept talking about "If you fail...", "you should practice..." etc. That is not how you should talk to someone who is going to take his test. Anyway, I ignored him and stayed focused on the test. The car was not good either, the accelerator would need to be pressed hard to kick in, and when it would, it would jerk. Anyway, I managed to pass. So if you are a first time driver, do not go for this school. If you have driving experience and just need to practice some more, these guys will do. And if you just need to use their car for the test, just ignore their discouraging talk and you should be fine.

I took a couple of refresher lessons with Michael and I found him very professional and a very good teacher. I was not so confident about my parking skills and driving on the highway but he taught me the tricks to park well and I saw vast improvements very soon. Thank you Michael from Oxford Driving School! A very good and patient driving instructor :)

Course is very intensive to make sure that you succeed. Instructor (Michael) is professional, dedicated and nice. For a beginner like me, 4-5 lessons were all it took. Passed my test first attempt :)

I had failed my driving test in NC earlier and was scared it might be tougher in California. I took lessons from George and Susan and both were great in pointing out my mistakes and explaining how to correct them. After practicing with them, the DMV test was a breeze and I got my license in the first attempt!

George! He is the best. He took me for my first ride and told me "not to waste money" as he thought I was fit for the license. He is extremely dedicated to his job. He is ok with a exceeding a few minutes. I got my DL in my first attempt and all the credit goes to George.

This review is long due. Although I was a decent driver I would have a nervous breakdown during the driving tests and had several failures. However Michael's perseverance and techniques instilled the confidence I needed and not only did I pass the driving tests, but am able own my own car today. All this after frustrating two years of trying. Passing a driving test is a breeze for some, for me it was a long journey and I still savour that moment I passed to this day.

Probably one of the best driving schools around. Michael was my instructor. When I told him what DMV I had my test at, he really helped me practice around and got me ready for the test. He gave me very useful tips for the test. On my test day, Michael drove me to the DMV and also helped me practice so that I was comfortable with the road and weather conditions( it was rainy). When I had to check in, I realized I forgot my passport. Michael drove me back home to get it which was such a nice gesture and also helped me relax and keep things in perspective. The best part being I passed my test :)

Definitely recommend this driving school for those who want to pass their behind-the-wheel test!! I passed on my first try and George was indeed a great instructor! We drove the neighboring area of Santa clara DMV and it gave me a better understanding of what to expect on the test day. I also used George's car on my driving test and while we were waiting for my turn to take the test, the car's battey died. BUT DONT FRET. George made sure I still manage to take my test. He called his coworker to assist us with our car's issue. Overall, this driving school is very helpful and informative. They really care for you to pass!

If you need to get your butt whipped in to get your driver's license then please ask for George. He's a rockstar who will burn the road rules into your brain. Yes he takes time to explain the rules of the road, only so you never forget them. Beware his on the spot pop quizzes! They'll have you running for the DMV handbook in a flash. Jokes apart, this man is the most patient, wonderful driving instructor. All you'll need are a few lessons, maybe 2-3, depending on your existing driving skills. I couldn't give him more than 5 stars but would if I could.

George was great, like a personal Yoda teacher for driving :D Very good instructor who helps you identify exactly what you're doing wrong so you can finally correct it. He goes by the book (the DMV handbook) and draws out on paper everything clearly so you can see visually if a particular traffic situation is confusing. I think he takes his job very seriously and is a dedicated teacher. I had 3 different instructors and I believe my lesson with George was the most beneficial one.My first driving test (prior to George): 22 mistakesMy second driving test (past-George 2 weeks later): 4 mistakes and a pass! :)

I had an out-of-state driving license (6 years with a lot of driving in US) but I lost and had to re-take the driving test. George is an excellent teacher (and teacher means more than a driving instructor) and I can say that he manages to add wisdom to my way of approaching driving. I could see he was involved to the last minute in making sure I pass (actually I did in San Jose). A huge plus: had no problem with getting the hours when I needed them (a few for me just to get familiar with the testing area) and to have the car for testing. As serious as George is while teaching I could glimpse that is a funny person though. I did get a few good laughs. So, George thank you for the experience, I enjoyed it, and thanks for the lessons. I'd recommend you to anybody who wants an honest and useful assessment of their driving skills and to anybody who wants to learn driving. Sorin.

Just got my license after 3 lessons from Oxford driving school. Got my license in the first test thanks to George's useful tips and suggestions. Language may be a problem at times but the price tag of the lesson was low enough to compensate. Good part was that George was not pushy at all that I take loads of lessons. I would ask for George for lessons as my experience with one other instructor for my final lesson was not good at all.

This review is long due. Although I was a decent driver I would have a nervous breakdown during the driving tests and had several failures. However Michael's perseverance and techniques instilled the confidence I needed and not only did I pass the driving tests, but am able own my own car today. All this after frustrating two years of trying. Passing a driving test is a breeze for some, for me it was a long journey and I still savour that moment I passed to this day.

Probably one of the best driving schools around. Michael was my instructor. When I told him what DMV I had my test at, he really helped me practice around and got me ready for the test. He gave me very useful tips for the test. On my test day, Michael drove me to the DMV and also helped me practice so that I was comfortable with the road and weather conditions( it was rainy). Definitely recommend this driving school for those who want to pass their behind-the-wheel test!! I passed on my first try and George was indeed a great instructor! We drove the neighboring area of Santa clara DMV and it gave me a better understanding of what to expect on the test day. I also used George's car on my driving test and while we were waiting for my turn to take the test, the car's battey died. BUT DONT FRET. George made sure I still manage to take my test. Yes he takes time to explain the rules of the road, only so you never forget them. Beware his on the spot pop quizzes! They'll have you running for the DMV handbook in a flash. George was great, like a personal Yoda teacher for driving :D Very good instructor who helps you identify exactly what you're doing wrong so you can finally correct it. He goes by the book (the DMV handbook) and draws out on paper everything clearly so you can see visually if a particular traffic situation is confusing. I think he takes his job very seriously and is a dedicated teacher. I had 3 different instructors and I believe my lesson with George was the most beneficial one.My first driving test (prior to George): 22 mistakesMy second driving test (past-George 2 weeks later): 4 mistakes and a pass! :)

George is an excellent teacher (and teacher means more than a driving instructor) and I can say that he manages to add wisdom to my way of approaching driving. Just got my license after 3 lessons from Oxford driving school. Got my license in the first test thanks to George's useful tips and suggestions. Language may be a problem at times but the price tag of the lesson was low enough to compensate. Good part was that George was not pushy at all that I take loads of lessons. I would ask for George for lessons as my experience with one other instructor for my final lesson was not good at all.
