Coast to coast is the only place I would recommend someone to go to obtain their commercial licence. Mario and daniel aren't there to take your money and push you in and out. They invest in you to make sure you are prepared to pass all DMV test. They took me from never backing up a trailer of any kind to be able to execute all required DMV backing skills in only 2 months. As well as the 3 inspection test needed. You get real seat time here. They take the time to get you on the road so you are confident in your ability to operate a tractor trailer on the road. In 2015 I was looking for a trucking school to attend to  get my class A license.   After calling several schools around the San Jose area I happened to see one of Coast to Coast Trucking Schools trucks driving down Monterey Highway in San Jose.  I called right away and spoke to Mario about their program.  He told me all about how they do things at C to C and I was immediately interested.   I went and met Mario and his son Daniel in person and signed up for the school right away.  C to C gave me some written samples of in cab inspection,  walk around, air brake test for me to study.  The first day of class I was taken out to drive.  And not just once.  Three times.....Mario also performed  the incab, air brake and walk around and had me video it so I could watch it in repetition.   Hearing it over and over made it so easy to remember.  In the yard many times a day a group of a few of us would perform all the inspections while either Daniel or Mario would listen in.  In the yard we would have cones set up for all of the reversing maneuvers such as alley dock, straight line backing, parallel parking to either side etc.  I can't rave enough about Coast to Coast Trucking School.  I received my class A license in just under three weeks.  And as the cherry on top they happened to be the least expensive school I found.  But the quality of their leadership was unsurpassed!!!!   I completed the school in less than a month.  I took all my tests in Mountain View at the Commercial DMV and passed all  in one go.  Anyone looking for a trucking school needs to call Mario at Coast to Coast and go down and see him and his son Daniel.  You will not be disappointed.   I would give C to C 25 stars if I could.  Awesome job guys!!!!!!!!Paul Beckett Read Less

Did you have that feeling that somebody gave you more that you paid for? It's when you really feel like you are part of a great community, family. It's when you feel home. Everything is perfect at Mario's truck driving school: flexible hours (you can definitely keep working part-time, maybe even full-time), excellent instruction, great student-to-instructor ratio, very good, newer Freightliner trucks with real-world the Eaton Fuller transmission.The yard can seem small, but it's real world again: when you go to DMV to pass your driving skills test, you will have EXACTLY the same small sizes for all of the exercises. I know one school that has what looks like much bigger yard, but really doesn't have enough space (!), especially for alley dock and offset. Also DMV yard has an asphalt-covered surface - it's important to practice on it if you want to pass the test. Again, Mario's school is just perfect, it's identical to DMV's.And, best of all - driving license is guaranteed! The school won't ask you for additional money, no matter how long it takes you to gain the skills: 2 month or 5.This schools is highly recommended. Read Less

After obtaining my permit and I spent 2 weeks researching Trucking Schools in Bay Area.I called several trucking schools and a majority of them never called back or went out of business. There was even a school in Hayward that had the nerve to quote me two different prices!!! After that failed I went straight to the schools to talk to these people in person. There were only 3 legitimate schools out of the 9; I had visited in Oakland, Hayward, Newark, Fremont and San Jose. After extensive research, I was able to weed out the schools that just wanted my money and choose from the ones that I had felt would help me achieve my goal.I found "Coast to Coast Trucking School" the one and only school that was truly there to help me achieve my goal of being a commercial truck driver! They had my back from day one. There are many schools out there, don't get me wrong. They just don't have skills like they do here at CTC. I physically watched other students from other trucking schools fail, when they took their driving test at the DMV. Other schools push you to take the test when they willing know you are not ready so they can get more money from you. They don't do that here at CTC. They wouldn't even make a DMV appointment for you until they know, you are ready. My point is: in less than 4 weeks of going to school every day, I got my CA Class A driver's license with two endorsements a couple of days ago! My instructors Mario and Daniel were very patient and kept a very decent learning pace. With both their experience combined they taught me everything I needed to know in order to pass. They have special techniques they will teach you; alley dock parking, straight line backing and parallel parking. All of which I was able to learn in a minutes. It so was intensive, a lot of driving skills practice, on the road practice and theory, which includes learning the pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspection and air brakes inspection. Lots to learn, but it was all worth it at the end. The truck driving school that you choose to attend could have a tremendous impact on your future career.  While there is numerous truck driving schools to choose from, they are not created equal and failure to get your certification from a good school could make it hard for you to get hired.
