I honestly don't know how I was able to drive safely before taking these classes. Leigh was a great instructor. I definitely learned a lot from him. Called them to ask questions about my so. Getting his permit and the man who answered the phone was extremely rude. He even refused to answer my questions about drivers training due to my son not having his permit yet. I had questions like are you going to do freeway driving and night driving his response was I have business hours of 9-5. I would recommend Leigh Hua if and only if you want to have fun when your learning how to drive. If you want a strict instructor who is only there to teach, then Leigh Hua is not the driving instructor for you. Since I am someone who needs to stay attentative with interactivity rather than boring protocol, I strongly recommend this dude. He becomes your friend very quickly, and you learn how to drive from a friend! How fantastic is that! Yeah sure, he makes me drive around to interesting places like to use a restroom, to get a bite to eat, run errands, but its honestly not bad. He legitimately takes you around the city to every normal and legal driving scenario. He is very good at multi-tasking. He saved me from a car accident with an unsafe driver when it had seemed his attention was not to the road. He gives constructive criticism as well as positive feedback, and since you guys are friends, it doesn't seem condescending. His teaching is very genuine, if laid back. Best thing is. His teaching works. It doesn't matter how he teaches, as long as I'm enjoying myself, learning, and so on, it shouldn't matter. I passed my driving test on the first go btw several weeks after my last lesson.He also has a sick sense of humor. He liked to scare me, but it forced me to pay better attention to me. It seems like he only does that to me, but yeah. He knows what he is doing.I highly recommend Leigh Hua to anyone looking for a driving instructor with actual heart, and doesn't mind being a lot chiller than the traditional driving instructor because we all need a little chill in our lives. I signed up my daughter for a package of 3 two hour lessons, spoke at length with Leigh about reading bad reviews on another school, where the instructor was late, and had the student drive him around for his errands, stops for food ect. Leigh assured me that he was the owner and instructor and as such was appalled and would never do such things! Well....He LIED TO ME! He not only taught my daughter absolutely NOTHING, he had her drive to his house to check his mail, he was on his IPad all 3 Lessons, and when I confronted him on what could possibly be more important then my daughters safety, while he's on his IPad, he says he was working on his schedules for upcoming clients, my daughter had also saw him on Facebook and checking his Email!!!  In the wasted 6 hrs with him, my daughter asked to learn to parallel park and was told....That's for my much better drivers. Today was her last lesson that he was a HALF HOUR Late for, and it ended by him having her drive him to his next clients house, having my daughter get in the backseat, terrified she was then driven by a first lesson driver, as they sped down the freeway to drop my daughter at home!!!  GLOBAL 1 DRIVING SCHOOL IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM!!!  Leigh Hua not only endangered my daughter by putting her in a car with an inexperienced driver, ignored anything she asked to be taught, but completely Failed us in teaching her to drive at all. We bought a yelp deal for this company and when we first mentioned this to the owner he informed me that he'll have to take that deal off because its not making him any money... awkward. He picked my son up and dropped him off which was super convenient for me. He was friendly and my son felt very comfortable with him. Besides the initial remark about the Yelp deal everything went smooth and my son passed all his tests and now has a license! We even bypassed the DMV driving exam and used him instead, took a lot of pressure off my son since he was already comfortable driving with the same person. Very happy with the outcome. Read Less

The instructor is great with teaching and has a good humor. Really kills the awkwardness and nervousness when it comes to driving. I gotta admit, I was extremelyyy nervous before my first appointment.  I thought I will run over several curves, stop at green lights and probably scrape a car.  But what eased up my nervousness was the driver instructor, Leigh.  While I was driving around my neighborhood (getting used to the turns and such), I noticed how chillll this guy is.  So I didn't panic for the day and drove comfortably while he was training me.   =] Leigh is a very observant guy.  He will observe your driving skills and see how he can help you brush it up by making you practice over and over till you get it.  He will teach you tricks on how to park the car (I got it in perfectly on my first try!), reverse the car and so on.  I noticed he has one of those newest cars for his students to drive in, not like those late 90's or early 2000 cars that most driving schools have.  Several of my cousins and other family members had him and passed their driver test on their first try, so did I.  I recommended him to several of my friends and will continue doing that.  They are currently training under him and I'm positive they will pass on their first try soon.  So to all you yelp readers, take him as a driver instructor!
