For SCCA Novices: Please do your homework and have a good understanding of the basics to be taught by Danny and his staff. I made the error of expecting to have fun and learn basics at a graduated pace. If you are a true novice at controlled road racing, like I am, don't hesitate take the time to clarify exactly HOW you are to negotiate the course(s) and what the instructors are looking for as you progress. The Why's will become obvious in time. Otherwise, you will be hit wi...th a firehose of information and mistakes, and (possibly) stern correction; and you may regress (like I did on Day 2) relying on instinct and bad habits 😊😵👿. This is not a criticism of the staff! Through years of experience, they know exactly what we need to know and do as a competitive road racer! This is not the fun part...it is the reality of a dangerous sport! Try to stay calm, smooth and cool- headed 😗. 5 stars doesn't even get close to the experience I had with Danny and his team. I did the 2 day SCCA accredited course in my own car (BMW M4) with a private instructor, which I would definitely recommend. I spent 2 day with Bill Follmer in my car, and I can't say enough good things about him. All of the instructors are focused on teaching you to be the best driver you can be, focusing on how to go as fast as you can within your limits and teaching you how to be as safe a driver as possible. The whole team at Fast Lane are guys who love cars and love racing, I spent hours talking to them about both, and their insight and experience gives you so much confidence to trust them and allow you to be pushed beyond what you thought you could do. When Bill was telling me when to brake, where to turn in, when to put all of the power down, I had complete confidence that I would be going as fast as I was capable of in a very safe manner. The only thing I would warn people about this is that as soon as you have spent time with these guys you will be completely hooked on racing, I finished the course last weekend and I am now spending a lot of my time looking for a racecar!Thank you Danny, and especially Bill, for what was truly the most fun weekend of my life! Great defensive driving school!  Paul and his team of instructors did a super job of handling such a big class (I'm sure the end of summer 100.00 off had something to do to with that!) my daughter, a new driver, really got a chance to see what her truck would do under all kinds of situations.  They were encouraging, without making her feel afraid.  They even let mom try out a few of the maneuvers!  This is a priceless experience for new drivers, and it was worth every penny. BEST PERFORMANCE CLASS EVER! Spent more than 120 minutes on track! (for a comparison, you spend 80 - 100 minutes on track during any given track day). Danny is extremely knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and funny! :) I especially enjoyed "the donuts" lessons! Spinning car in reverse in something I never done/dared to do before! :)) And on a WET PATCH TOO! Streets of Willow track itself is a pure delight. Short, tight and technical. We did the shorter variation of it, without the 'bowl' (which I wish would be included), but it was still VERY VERY great! I did the class in my own car as I wanted to improve my driving skills in my own car, but I am positive that using the class provided cars is also great option (you don't need to change tires, break pads and oil afterwards ;) Read Less

Worth every dime! I had the opportunity to attend the High Performance Driving School this past Saturday. The instructors did a phenomenal job in making sure every tactic we performed, we understood. I definitely recommend this class if you are looking to learn and familiarize yourself with driving fast but most importantly staying safe. Some highlights were: managing your vehicle during a skid, how to approach taking a corner on the track, and probably a more fun moment was learning how to drive in reverse and whip around doing a 180 degree turn! At the end if the day, it was worth it; even though the course takes place in the parking area between the tracks and a portion on the slick pad, (a tease with Big Willow and Streets of Willow at your sides). I wish to take the time and thank you all at Fast Lane Racing School. I should of heaped praise on you guys sooner.I had a great experience doing the "Advanced Lapping" Day on the Streets of Willow track. I say "Advanced Lapping" day, because I have been through the other courses offered at Fast Lane and obviously keep returning.I have been to other Racing Schools this year and I have to say 3 things that really make your school stand out as being a superior school. 1)   Track Time: What a great amount of time spent on the track. I can't tell you how pleased I was with your track time management. We as customers want to drive and learn from hands on experience, so we need to be on the track and not tied up in a classroom for hours.2)   Instructors: Your instructors were pleasant and offered up detailed instruction in order to improve as a driver and decrease lap times with accurate feedback.3)   Follow up: Most schools never follow up after finishing the program. I did their 1 day high performance school on July 23rd, 2014.  I've been to numerous racing schools.  This one gave me the most track time by far, and that is the most important element to fun, practice, and learning.You had the choice to drive race prepped supercharged Toyota Scion's with manual transmissions, race prepped Camry with automatic, or your own car.  The teachers are very knowledgeable, helpful, and approachable.By the end of the day, I was driving significantly better than the beginning.  Highly recommended.
