I was trained by Chuck Hard's staff 32 years ago. His mastery of learning to drive was so strong back in the 80's that many instructors would leave his school and start their own school, making his legacy of his competent gentle teaching, spread all over San Diego. His style of teaching may influence as much as 1/3 of all driving schools even today. As I was teaching a student today learning how to use the steering wheel for the first time, it brought back memories of my training so many years ago. I was watching his video on learning to use the steering wheel where you see this gentle competent teaching style that is only Chuck Hard. A style that I promote strongly in my school still 32 years later. I am part of Chuck's legacy like so many driving schools. Driving schools get ten or thousand hits on their youtube videos, DMV as much as a million. Shortly Churcks "How to Steer" video will exceed 3 million hits. Chuck surpasses them all. Not only with his students but with his instructors, he was always fair, calm and measured in his corrections to his staff.To have been associated with the likeable humble immensely talented Chuck Hard and all his genuis has been a lifetime windfall for me. Good things happen around Chuck.

The training with this company is outstanding. Charles is a true professional and works hard to produce safe drivers. Two of my three children have been through his program. When you set up your first appointment, Charles lays out how the behind the wheel classes will work, what will be taught, where he takes your child to drive how long each lesson will last, and what is expected of the student and parents. He also encourages parents to come a long on the lessons if you want to see for yourself how the lesson goes. Even though I live by my calendar, it is still nice to receive a reminder call a few days before each appointment. Charles has also been very accommodating when I've had to reschedule an appointment when a conflict arose.Charles and his company also make safety a number one priority. He regularly replaces his vehicles so your children are always in a safe and late model vehicle. I am not one to write reviews but felt compelled after reading the 2012 review that seemed to have some other agenda than having her child receive driver's education.If you are looking for a professional company that takes the job of training new driver's seriously, this company is who you want tongi with. I have recommended them to all of my friends with teenagers getting ready to drive.

OK.. Here is my review- I called accredited driving school to inquire about driving school for my soon to be 16 year old son. The gentleman (Charles) on the phone asked me where I was located... we live in Carlsbad, I told him... he asked me again... where you, I mean are right now... I said I am currently working in Sorrento valley... he said I will come to you now, show you the car get some papers signed and you can just call to set up the times whenever you're ready.. I told him on the phone... I am not sure I want to sign just yet, I just have questions on the whole procedure since this is my first teenager...he again, said let me come to you and we can talk... I told him "I am in Sorrento valley, but can I just ask you a few questions and we can go from there. He said, no I would like to meet you... kind of creepy... but whatever... (MY BAD!) I wanted to know how this process works and where I need to start (I was excited!)... Anyway... he comes to meet me in Sorrento valley, and I ask away with my questions, how many hours does he need, what happens after that...then I go on to tell him that my son has been sick, and he has to be off meds for three solid months before I even let him behind the wheel... doctors' orders.. (Acute menders disease) causes severe dizziness... ok... anyway... he assured me... if I just gave him a deposit... something to hold he would be open to begin anytime the doctor allowed. I said I am not comfortable with that... since this condition is ongoing... I would like the doctors' orders first... then I will just pay you in full... again... persistent salesman... said... just give me a deposit and worst case, and they don't let him drive... I will give you the money back... lolls... I was like right!! No way... then he said... I will write you an invoice, put my name on it, phone number amount your giving... and you just give me a yes or no when you're ready and I will either begin training your son, or give you back your deposit.. The idea of my son driving... is exciting in itself, I buckled and paid him.Sad to say... my son won't be driving for some time... I have held off on calling him for my deposit back... hoping that with all this testing we would get a good word back and my son would be allowed to drive... Not the case... he still can't until further notice, and just isn't healthy now at all... And turning 18 :( nothing like I had expected...I called Charles after waiting almost a year (praying this whole time... the situation would change for the better).. Also, I had been giving updates to his wife Joellen during this year... she seemed really patient to me and really sweet, take your time... she said... no hurry... today; when I called... she had no recollection of who I was... I finally got the word, he will not be able to drive maybe for another whole year... post op... And I am very sad... and sad for him too... it's the holidays... I let Charles know I kept the note he gave me, and the situation had gotten worse... he was like practically yelling at me, READ OUR WEBPAGE, WE DONT DO REFUNDS!, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SPENT THAT DAY DRIVING TO YOU!!, ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE THAT TRANSACTION TOOK PLACE... it was like the conversation we had was irrelevant. Needless to say... as a business they have NO ADMIRABLE BUSINESS ETHICS... and for that reason alone, I think you should really consider using ABC Driving school- I volunteered at local homeless shelter with them, they are kindhearted and real... North County School of Driving also has served many of my sons friends in the Carlsbad area as well... and they passed their test... YELP REVIEWS FOR ACCREDITED DRIVING SCHOOL HAS A VERY LOW PASSING TURNOVER... SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER... NOT JUST BECAUSE I AM MAD... BECAUSE THESE GUYS ARE SCANDELOUS.

My son took 3 behind the wheel lessons with an instructor from a different driving school and did not pass the test.I called Accredited Driving School and asked for an instructor to help my son on the weekend prior to his test. This was a last minute call and Charles was able to fit us into our schedule. He arrived on time, took time to talk to my husband, son and me before each lesson to find out what my son needed to work on. After each lesson, he aslo took time to go over our son's results.My son passed the test!!!He said Charles was a much better instructor, because he knew what the DMV drive test evaluators were looking for and what errors students made that caused them to fail.I would recommend Accredited Driving School over the other schools in the area, which we found to not put in the extra time or have flexible schedules.

I was trained by Chuck Hard's staff 32 years ago. His mastery of learning to drive was so strong back in the 80's that many instructors would leave his school and start their own school, making his legacy of his competent gentle teaching, spread all over San Diego.
