If you are a 16yr old child, this would be great.  If you are a parent, you may have some concerns.  Of all the driving lessons they did, they never once took her on the freeway or a highway.  2 accidents later . . .  Yes, I learned this, after the fact.  No, I didn't think to ask my kid if they went on the freeway because why wouldn't they?  It was a driving lesson and here in Calif, we have freeways.  I looked into it and it was explained that they teach to pass the test.  Sorry, but test are for the short sighted. I was expecting safe driving lesson, but adding another 3,000 lbs death machine to the road.  This type of mindset is questionable.  "To pass the test."  This makes me sick. Read Less

I passed my behind the wheel test on the first try, and I credit most of this success to Dennis and his teaching methods. Dennis is very personable and energetic, which is great especially if you are driving for the first or second time ever. He does not just train you for the DMV driving test, but also for when you are driving on your own, constantly giving you pieces of wisdom to think about in the future. I found this driving school for my teenage nephews, and both them had fantastic experiences with Dennis Stack. He was supportive, friendly, attentive and helpful in shaping their driving lessons to improve their awareness, caution and focus while behind the wheel--and I cannot say enough about these business attributes for something so important as driving in society today! As a college professor here in the Bay Area, I've seen the way other teenagers drive their cars around campus/parking lots, and I'm scared to be near them! But Dennis gave my nephews great instruction and instincts, to the point I am completely comfortable driving with them as a passenger in their cars these days. Thank you, Jack Stack Driving School!! I give them a call got to talk to Dianne she give me some hints what my instructor would be looking for.  She was very nice and pleasant to talk to. I really had a great experience learning to drive with Mr. Dennis . He was both encouraging and lots of patience with a focus on helping my confidence to drive. Once my teen passed her permit test, I asked friends for recommendations. I selected this school in part because I wanted my teen to have the same instructor each time. Dennis was great at making her feel comfortable with driving and yet taking driving seriously. I had 4 lessons with this business and they were absolutely horrible. I learned much more from my own parents and others then him. My driving instructor made me highly uncomfortable, his teaching methods were ridiculously complicated and unhelpful, and he made very weird uncomfortable comments that made the experience highly unenjoyable. As I was driving the instructor kept touching/ squeezing my arm and making flirtatious remarks. Perhaps this is just this man's style and it was likely inocuous, but it made me feel very uncomfortable. It was inappropriate regardless of his intentions, and I don't imagine he did this with young male drivers. As a young woman, driving with a middle aged man, I was on edge because he did not respect boundaries. Would not recommend for this reason. Both my sister and I used Jack Stack Driving School for our drivers training. We both passed our tests on the first try. Dennis is an awesome instructor and makes the lessons entertaining and full of tips. I was extremely nervous before my first appointment, but after meeting Dennis and seeing how the lessons would go, I was looking forward to every subsequent lesson. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to become a great driver!I find it interesting that the only sub-par review on this page is from a parent, not even someone who was taking the lessons. Dennis is great! He is patient and kind. My daughter is very shy and he was able to bring her out with his subtle humor. As a parent, I loved being able to attend the lessons and even learned a few things about driving. I like that he offers (4) 1.5 hours lessons instead of (3) 2 hour lessons. Not so good.  The instructor is friendly.  But the results are not good. My teens said they drove around and received very little instruction. It was hard to contact the instructor  and get appointments once we paid our money. We were told we'd be given a print-out with need-to-know items, but we never got it.  I ended up trying to do most of the instruction myself.  As it got close to the road test, we felt that our teens were not prepared.  All this school was good for was the DMV required signed certificate at the end of the course -- and that's it.  There are less expensive schools that offer more.  We wanted the last class to be in Concord, near the DMV -- we were told that would happen, but the instructor opted NOT to take my son there.  To sum it up:  a bunch of unfulfilled promises, once you pay.
