After reading the reviews and being disrespected on a text for not calling Kevin Cruz back right away to discuss lessons and fees, I am so happy that we didn't deal with this guy. My son has mild autism and dealing with strangers is difficult enough any person especially someone with social anxiety. If I had seen or heard any trauma my son would have experienced the way these kids did with this man, all hell would have broke lose. I'm not a parent that takes things lightly or just lets it go. KEVIN CRUZ AND HIS NUMEROUS DRIVING SCHOOLS ARE A SCAM! Here is how the scam works: You set an appointment, he requests cash upfront, he tells you he will give you a copy of the contract at the second lesson. You never get a copy. He has you contact him weeks later for the next appointment, he confirms the time, yet never shows up, does not text he is running late nothing just a no show, until you send him a text, and he insists it was the following week, except he is the one who sent the date and time and we confirmed. He proceeds to show up 1 1/2 hours later and sits out in front of our house, never even letting us know he arrived, in the passenger seat with his barefoot propped up on the dash board. Against every bit of energy I allowed my daughter to take the second lesson, where this inappropriate and unprofessional idiot has my daughter first take him to a car wash, as he explained the kids think the car was is fun? and he said my daughter said it was ok, he never asked her. Second stop he must get a coffee and food (he claims it is to go to the bathroom, then next stop is to get gas, then off to have him make my daughter park on the curb so he has her give him a 5 star rating on google, in fact he writes his own review, tells her to add a few sentences, and then pastes and copies to other websites. we have since removed the 5 star, as she did not want to do this - especially since we were not even done with the program, and she was very upset and crying. She begged me to make sure she did not have to see Kevin Cruz again, had a horrible sleepless night and she was very upset. I insisted she finish out we had one more lesson to go and we would be done. I texted Kevin for a date and time to set up the final 2 hour sessions. Here is the scam...he turns into a complete violent mess, write horrible texted message back and acts out almost dangerous....thats the scam...no one ever makes it to the final 2 hours, which by the way all the 8 driving courses take 3 weeks, this nut takes 4 months....because that is part of the scam. We believe that he may not be certificate as an instructor through the California DMV due to the numerous complaints...thats the scam...he turns it around that it is your fault, you are a horrible parent, you can not read the contract, he didnt appreciate you some complete and utter nonsense, and he bails because he can not work with such an unresponsive and unreasonable parent who lies and makes up stories about him. This should be a negative star review.... Kevin Cruz doesn't even deserve a star. Worst experience with a business. Kevin Cruz stooped so low as to force my son to give him a 5 star review in order to get his permit signed. He doesn't return calls or messages, hangs up on you. Cancels appts last minute doesn't even have the courtesy to respond or tell you in advance. He refuses any refunds. Insists you are the one in the wrong. Claims to have apologized while screaming at you On the phone. He left my son in the car at the circle for 20 minutes to take a break. Seriously how is he still in business. This person should not be teaching anyone to drive a car. He actually told my son he had to give him a 5 star review to get his permit signed. Do not use this driving school. This driving school was great! Kevin is extremely helpful and determined to make sure all the teens out there strive to be good drivers. I was nervous when I first got behind the wheel, but he was kind enough to teach me what is right and wrong. At points, it was a little tough to get a hold of him, but he wouldn't fail to return our call. My parents chose him for my brother a few years ago, and didn't hesitate to chose him for me! They made a good choice, considering my brother hasn't gotten into any serious accidents or came home with a ticket till this day. Unlike other customers, my family and I had a satisfying experience with Kevin and his teachings! Thank you so much for what you did for my brother and I. BEWARE! This guy should be a 1 star. If you read the 2 star reviews you'll wonder why they gave Kevin a 2 star & not a 1 when the service is so horrible. Also, rather than trying to resolve issues Kevin simply blames problems on the parents or students. Read his responses. Not once does he say, I'm sorry for the poor experience you had, let me try to make it right. Instead he complains about his customers and changes his company name & URL to distance himself from overwhelming negative Yelp reviews. My experience. First appointment: Called day of and said he would be late. Called a few hours later to cancel and rescheduled. Second appointment :after picking up my kid he promptly went to the gas station to fill up his car and go to the bathroom. Halfway through the lesson they drove to his house to pick up beach gear so he could save a trip home after dropping off my kid at the end of the lesson. He left my kid in the car with the keys while he ran in and grab his stuff. After calling repeatedly to schedule a second lesson, Kevin returned my call and immediately began to berate me, explaining that it is perfectly reasonable to expect to leave over 7 messages before receiving a call back from him. He told me I was extremely rude and impatient and that he would only deal with my kid moving forward. Since I wanted to quickly complete the class and end this nightmare I complied. Day of second lesson Kevin was a no show. No call or email. I again called him to see if we should wait around or reschedule. After repeated calls once again Kevin called and begin to school me on how rude and incompetent I was. After several minutes of back and forth it was clear my kid could no longer safely ride with with a man that exhibits such disdain toward his student's parent so I asked him for a refund. This set off a whole new level of emotions in Kevin. Perhaps I should give him 2 stars because although he did threaten to "take me to court" if I filed a disputed with pay pal and my credit card company to get my money back, he did not. I got a full refund and was able to complete my kid's lessons somewhere else. This is by far the worse experience I've had with a company in a long time.Read Less
