Sadly due to health problems I could not go to the college I wanted so I thought I would start out here. Regretting it already and I have not even started! The website is awful, easily get lost and can not find anything you search for. What makes this college amazing is the people that work there. It has good and bad employees like any other place, but there are some really special people there also. My main complaint is the campus, the campus is not very appealing to the eyes, but if your there just to study then your good to go. If you want to be successful, be aware of the student success resources. Such as the awesome library, study central, the librarians (they help with research papers specially), the library study rooms, the computer lab, the math lab, the tutorial center (saved my butt many times), and also their transfer center. My advice is if you are thinking about coming here and are serious about your educational goals, then right away look into the honor societies. Alpha Gamma Sigma or Phi Theta Kappa. Look into them!! Nothing like being surrounded by very driven smart students who want to make a difference in their academic lives and also help others. I am not a nerd, but let me tell you these have very few nerds, just a bunch of awesome people that happen to be intelligent.  Also, if you want to learn good leadership skills then look into student government (ASMC). Lastly, if you are an agriculture major as I was, then I would really really suggest this college. It has a very good AG program with amazing instructors. Plus, it has an awesome AG Leadership class and a college farm to teach you hands on stuff!! I could honest say so much more, but I'll just finish with this, Merced College is what you make it, get involved, help yourself, but also remember to help others (AGS, PTK, ASMC, AG AMBASSADORS, SCHOOL CLUBS, etc...) I rate it a 4/5 for a college considering I have only attended here and at Modesto Junior College so far. Read Less

Was so confused on their enrollment process I was not informed much from a counselor there. The counselor didn't answer my questions bc she didn't know if my credits I earned elsewhere would transfer..come to find out I needed to send my transcript to their transcripts department to have it evaluated and I had to wait on that for a month! Are you shitting me who has time to wait a month to see if my credits will transfer? Ridiculous!  Financial Aid advisors are NOT advising just sitting at the window waiting for their day to be over ... prerequisites per prerequisites are a bunch of bs and getting out of hand. Really almost every class has a lab? Ridiculous no wonder it takes people forever to graduate its another mjc except not as populated. Read Less
