Both of my daughters had Ms. Fibi as their driving instructor, and I have to say that I am very pleased. It was easy to schedule and she'd pick them up from home and drop them off at the end.She is a kind and encouraging instructor, who knows how to put her students at ease and communicate with them in a way that won't shut them down. She was patient and her criticism was constructive, which is hard with new drivers. Both my daughters passed their first test with under 5 mistakes (you're allowed 15). Best $100.00 I've spent in a long time. I had to renew drivers license. Haven't had to take test(s), written or driving for over ten years (online renewal). Met the instructor (Fariba) in front of their office.Was planning to do the driving practice in my car. Fariba advise me that I had to do the driving in her car.  I parked and got into her Prius. We started going East on Sherman Way. Fariba was like a verbal navigation system, change lanes, turn right at the corner, look over your shoulder, green means go. The more I drove the more I wished I was back in my car. I did not like her car. You couldn't  hear the engine.Finally finished the test drive. I asked Fariba "How badly did I do? Fariba reassured me that the driving test go well. She also told me to call after I take the test. Took the test at the WinnetkaDMV. Great place everybody there was positive. Passed the test. They have the best instructors on the planet. Fariba guided and directed me towards getting my license. I was previously getting trained at Manhattan driving school and I realize they never taught me anything. Especially Ebi who just told me to turn left and right and NEVER taught me how to even park. He took me places nowhere near any of the DMVs. Fariba however took me to the area where I was taking my drivers test and practiced with me. I highly recommend Ali! I took a 6-hour course from other school and failed my test for the first time. Then I came to Union driving. Union Driving is definitely better than the other school and cheaper also. I feel so lucky that I have Ali as my instructor who is very experienced. I really like the way he taught me. This was my first driving school and I opted for 8 hour course.The way it worked: i had a trainer (who's also the owner of this school, I think) she took 4 2-hour lessons over the day on the timeslots decided between us.Pros: - the car toyota prius (which the trainer uses to train) is in good condition, - more hands-on as I was asked to drive the moment I joined.- comparatively cheaper.Cons:- the trainer never seemed to be much interested in training. Half of the time she was in call with her relatives in the middle of the training while I am driving. She was literally rushing with the lessons and pushing me to take drive test after only my second class and I knew I was not ready for the test as I never drove before in my life but the trainer was persistent and no wonder I ended up failing the test twice.- before joining I did my online research and people said that the trainer is strict. I will say more than strict, there is respect problem with her. I knew I was not backing up properly, so one day on not backing up properly once I asked her if we can do it again instead of skipping to thorough driving, she literally said no to my face, she was more interested in completing the trip than me learning through it. While driving on Topanga the first day, she said the speed limit is 45 on this road, I asked where did she see? Her response was a rude "coz I said so". She will shout like crazy in middle of driving and often she won't have definite answers to questions.All in all, i saw n number of glorious reviews here about the trainer (don't know how) and this was one of those experiences where yelp failed me badly. OMG. This IS THE BEST DRIVING SCHOOL in the area. The lady (I think her name is Fariba) is just amazing!! She's so nice, friendly and reminds me of a mother. I was silly enough to attend a horrible driving school with terrible instructors; this made me nervous and I failed the test. I switched to Union and that was the BEST decision I made. I don't know how to drive before i got here to the US. I thought it would be very hard for me to learn how to drive. My friend recommended Phoebe (Fariba). I did 10 hour sessions since I'm a newbie. She helped me a lot throughout my course even brought me to the freeway. She is very calm,patient and excellent teacher. I passed my driving exam on my first attempt! Fariba was a very experienced instructor! And I really liked her personality- she is very friendly and sweet. I strongly recommend her. I probably had about 10 hours total with her (I may have scheduled more), and this was mostly me scheduling appointments on the fly. She was able to wrap it up nicely, communicate with me about what to do, and plan things out for the test. I took the behind-the-wheel test and passed on my first try! 😀 I have pretty bad anxiety, so I feel really proud with this accomplishment- so yeah, I recommend her to people who have the same issue as me. She can be hard on you, but she adjusts and she is really damn helpful. But please observe your mistakes, pay good attention, always respect your instructor, review her advice and remember it, and the rules of the road. I took six hours of lessons with Fariba, who is a fantastic instructor. When I called to schedule my three days of lessons, she was extremely accommodating and managed to fit me in the same week. She stayed calm in the face of my mistakes while driving, teaching me safe and responsible techniques and making me feel more relaxed behind the wheel. The day before my last lesson, she asked if I felt comfortable enough to go to the DMV after our last two hours and take the behind-the-wheel exam, which I agreed to. We spent the last lesson driving around the valley and getting comfortable, and about a half hour running through the actual exam course where she explained what the DMV officials would be looking for. I would like to personally thank Union Driving School for helping my son pass and get his driver's license in short notice. The instructor gave him last minute lessons for 2 hours before his actual driving test. They practiced parking, reversing, turning, and everything that a student needs to learn just before the exam and concentrate on what the DMV examiners are looking for. I am deaf and i tried to get my drivers license from age 16 and it never happen until i was 21 years old and one day i tried to call driving schools with layaway system and no school wanted to give me the service i was writing my question and the other person was talking to different school and no one wants to even talk to me until i called union and i didn't have any hope to finish this problem but the they said they will do it and one day a lady came and she was writing everything for me do and not to do and the day after i went for the test and even examiners were afraid to take me for the test!!!! but i went i pass and now i am driving .i just thought i have to mention people who are helpful and caring and help one another .I was so happy with this school they are good.
