First things first--- our granddaughter passed the DMV driver's test successfully on the first try! She took the 10 hour driving course plus some supplemental driving practice. Every driving instructor was an excellent teacher ( we had five different instructors). The instructors were friendly, patient, on time, and had no trouble establishing rapport with our granddaughter. The office staff was extremely helpful and worked with us when we had scheduling issues.  When it comes to pricing beard not the cheapest in town but in this case you're definitely getting what you pay for. In addition they were so accommodating when it came to scheduling the lessons. My daughter's driving instructor (Alejandra) was so professional and had a great demeanor that my child was so relaxed which fostered a great learning environment. After the first lesson, my daughter asked if she could get he same instructor as she really liked the way she provided feedback. We had an exceptional experience with Drivers Ed Direct.  This is our first teenage driver in the house and we will definitely be using them for our other children. I have sent all 3 of my kids through Drivers Ed Direct.  They really make entire process easy with emails, printed instructions and a helpful office (phone) staff.  We got the package of the on-line pre-permit study and the 6 hours of driver training.  There are instructions for every step of the process.  The 2 hour driving sessions are extremely convenient because the driver will pick up your kid at school or your home.  My kids liked all of the drivers and thought they were especially helpful with tips and areas that they knew would be on the driving test at the DMV. Thanks to my instructors, I passed my driving test today! I took 10 lessons, 2 hours each. As far as instructors go, everyone was lovely and understanding. I must say that Jay, Liz & Daniel were my favorite instructors. They all make you feel very comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Great conversationalist!! The people here at Drivers Ed Direct all strive to meet your specific needs. I requested the Prius because I felt comfortable driving in that vehicle as opposed to the SUV, and Drivers Ed was able to accommodate to my request and book all my lessons in the Prius! Our experience with this company was top notch!   My daughter has not yet taken her driver's test,  but if she doesn't pass (which she will)  it would be my fault for not taking her out to practice. Every time she went out she had a different trainer and each one was incredible with her.   After the drive,  the trainer explained to mom (me)  how the drive went and what her strengths were and what she needed to work on.   Within a couple of days I got an email detailed with events of that drive and what number drive that was. I read reviews before booking and paid in advance and I did have to cancel an appointment less than 24 hours notice so I had to pay the fee,  but that's part of the deal guys.   We know that when we get into it.   It sucks when it happens, but it's our issue not theirs and it's part of the contract so stop giving them bad reviews for your screw ups.Also stop  giving bad reviews because you aren't taking your kid out to practice.  You need to do your part.   Your kid can't learn from just the few hours they are with these amazing young people. Drivers Ed direct Including Eric and all crew were just awesome!!!when I first called Eric, he took about 30 min just to explain, how it was all going to go down.Then when it was time for the first lesson, i was comfortable sending my son alone with the instructor, it Felt as one big Family.I got to meet Tom the instructor, and when Leeran ( My son ) Came back he was so exited, and told me all about it, sounded like He was given many road tips.then the other lessons came and went, and now I have a great/safe  driver at home.I have not even tried to shop around, since I felt so comfortable with them, but I am sure i got a good deal for the 5 lessons.Even at time for driving test, Eric was there to answer questions i had.I would highly recommend Drivers Ed, And no I was not paid to say so.Sharon Goldin Read Less

It was that time...time for my son to get a driver's licence...! I had been taking him for a year or so driving in parking lots and on roads with no through traffic, but as it came closer to the time he wanted to get the license I looked around for a professional service and was surprised by the number of choices.I looked at Drivers Ed Direct's website and called after looking at the positive Yelp reviews.  When I called in I had an idea of what I wanted because the website was informative, but the person I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable about the process.   He had gotten his permit and we added him on our insurance...YIKES....thanks California for such high insurance rates, but he was paying himself for his portion and is a great kid.When we made the appointments the instructors either called him in advance or when they arrived, picking him up at home and dropping him back here.  The lessons were 2 hours each and covered various items that you should be doing including freeway and night driving.  We also got reminder calls on our main number to let us know the lesson was scheduled.Well all of this paid off because when he took his driving test he missed a perfect score by 2 points.  So if you are looking for a service, I would recommend this one for your teenager. I have 2 teens and we tried a couple schools in Valencia, CA. Drivers Ed Direct was definitely the best. Both kids said so. We had a few different instructors and all were very good. My son was 18 so didn't technically need the full 6 hours but I highly recommend getting that amount even if you're 18 or over. Read Less

Drivers Ed Direct is the best driving school around.  My son always takes a little extra time and patience before he learns something new.  He has a learning disability so being able to teach in a way that he can understand is crucial.  Due to this we purchased a large block of hours so he could become as safe as possible.  After about 14 hours with driverseddirect and one of the first times I had driven with him we were stopped at a red light waiting for it to turn green.  The light changed and my son started to accelerate right when another car ran a red light and barreled through the intersection.  My son calmly slammed on the brakes waited for the guy who ran the red light to go by and proceeded on his way.  This is when I realized he was safe and I stopped worrying so much.We also paid for my son to take the test in the Drivers Ed Direct Car.  My wife drove to the DMV to wait and Tom the Drivers Ed Direct instructor waited with her.  My wife was more nervous than my son and Tom did a great job keeping them both calm.I could not of asked for a better driving school and instructor. I called this place today to ask a few questions before signing up or paying in line ..... it turns out that when you are on their site some guy by the name of Kevin is texting you while you are trying to reach them ...... and they answer the phone with " Don't you know how to use you phone "? I'm texting you!!!! To which I answer well with that kind of customer service skills I sure am glad I didn't do any business with your establishment! I wish I was able to post the screenshot of their text I did receive after hanging up with them ..... turns out all the text messages came through after I hung up the phone .... which leads me to believe that they really don't want to be bothered if the have to talk to you!!! I had two driving lessons with a patient teacher by the name of Micha. He taught me the "SMOG" technique and much more. My family has a strong connection with the managers. I love the way they teach you. They talk in a very patient tone and have so much respect for you. I almost caused an "at fault" collision by answering a phone call when I should not have. Stay away unless you can schedule 3 weeks ahead of time. They have only 1 car on the Westside thus it is impossible to schedule anything inside 2 weeks.We gave up after taking 3 lessons out of the package of 5 I purchased for my daughter. Very disappointed !UPDATE: Owner was concerned and contacted me. Offered satisfactory alternatives to improve our experience with his firm, which I took him up on and he followed through . My job prevents me from making and taking personal calls between 8am-and 3pm drivers ed direct goes above and beyond, communication is made so easy via email.  I have been emailing Nancy directly and she is phenomenal. Pay the extra money and have your child drive with them. Oooh and both times my son drove at night with them 8:30-10:30 it gave him plenty of time to do homework and didn't interfere with sports. We just finished Drivers Ed Direct with our second child and had great experiences both times.  The instructors show up on time, are very courteous, the kids like them, and they give great feedback at the end of the lessons.  It was very easy to schedule and/or cancel appointments and they walk you through the entire process of getting signed up for the permit through the final run through before the actual driving test for the license.We did five or six 2-hour lessons so they got extra time with freeway, canyons and the run through before DMV test.We felt the whole time that they were not only improving as drivers, but were keeping the key points in their heads about what they were taught.  Both kids passed the DMV driving test the first time with great scores! Drivers Ed Direct was found through the High School and they were great for my son's behind the wheel lessons. There were a couple of other instructors but he mostly worked with Sean, who was really personable and a perfect fit for him. Beyond our expectations. SUPURB service all around from the customer service phone crew who were always so friendly and professional. They always returned our calls within reasonable time. They have great profiles on their instructors so that you and your teen can pick the best fit instructor on similar interests like music, hobbies, movies so while on their drives they have things to talk about that they can relate to. It's also nice because your teen gets to pick for themselves and so there's no surprises and it's just really a nice touch for the experience.MICHA was my teens instructor. Super personable and friendly. I couldn't have asked for anything better. He's got a mellow disposition and soft spoken yet very clear. Such a talent for behind the wheel training for new drivers. Absolute best experience ever. SO worth every penny. They have canyon and freeway packages too that are helpful. But my favorite is the one where they pick up your teen for the DMV drivers test and practice for the hour before the dmv test and drive themselves to the dmv for the test (using the Drivers Ed Direct car) for the drivers test! It's never an easy thing knowing your baby is going to be getting behind the wheel of a two ton vehicle....but one thing that will help to put your mind at ease is to make sure she gets the best training she can get before she goes out there on her own.We started with Drivers Ed Direct online while my daughter was studying to get her driver's permit. They have a seamless website which allows a learner to engage from start to finish.  My daughter was able to start with her Driver's Ed course which included all her study materials, with interesting, interactive lessons and testing and unlimited DMV practice tests so that she was confident when she went in to take the actual test. If for some reason, your kid doesn't pass the first time, or second time...which wasn't an issue for us, DED allows you to come back and use the course an unlimited amount of times.    Once she had her permit and it was time for her to get her behind the wheel hours with an instructor, we bought her the behind the wheel course as a Christmas present.  I like the fact that they use hybrid vehicles.  You can schedule sessions online for times seven days a week between 7am and 10:30pm.  Once my daughter had taken a session, I would receive a report from her instructor with strengths and areas of improvement within a day or so.  If an appt is not availalbe when you schedule it, they'll call you to try to find another time that works for everyone.When I mentioned to the person who called to confirm my daughter's last appt. that she already had her license test scheduled, she said instead of mailing her certificate, they'd have it ready for her the day of her last behind the wheel appt.  It's the little things that make the big difference!I'd give Driver's Ed Direct a 10 out of 10 across the board...and we're talking about a company that was working with the most precious cargo I can imagine.
