"There has to be a catch!?" is the first thing that went off in my head after seeing 5 Dollar Traffic School listed on the DMV list of approved traffic schools. I was bracing myself for a much heftier price tag for traffic school, but this place is legitimately $5!! You have the option of adding on other things, like an audio reading, but I didn't opt-in for any of those and just went with the basic $5 program. After seeing all of the good reviews, I figured it would be worth $5 to see if it actually works.I was able to complete the exams quickly and efficiently (thanks, ctrl+F!). So i was coming around to paying my yearly ticket and my 18 month traffic school course and I found this little gem!  Everything worked out perfectly! If you read my reviews you know im cheap. So when I seen traffic school for $5 I jumped on it! There was a $3 site but I chose to stick to one I knew and trusted. Im cheap and those two bucks could of bought me 2 Foster Freezes from Circle K but I used it here and let me tell you why........ Peace of mind. Next time I go to Circle K I'll just skip on the soda to make up for it! LOL. On the real though It was easy all the way around here.  If you flunk this test you have no right being on the road, LOL. I didn't believe it at first, but it really is true:  only $5!  Online course is straight forward, easy to read (I actually read everything and re-learned some important info). Only four sections, quizzes at end of each section, and then a "final exam" -- open book so you really can't fail (although it wasn't necessary for me to look up any info). The most painless online traffic school course I've ever experienced. The website looked a little sketchy to me at first, but its 100% legitimate. The material is very straightforward and  you are given little quizzes at the end of each segment. the test is rather easy and is also open book so you can reference the material while you take the final test. Okay, it is possible to take the test in an hour (I read about people doing it that quickly).I personally dont recommend going that fast.  (Slow down, going too fast is probably why some of us needed traffic school in the first place......or so I have heard).  I actually TOOK the class.  Studied each and every page, read every line and then took the final exam and passed at 92% without an open book or even looking anything up.  During the study, I really dug into the material and even crossed referenced some stuff online to check facts and get second opinions. But with this comprehensive study: it took me about 5 hours with maybe 4 hours or so of class time and a mental/snack/restroom break after each section.  The first 2 sections provided the most insight the second two sections were mostly review.All throughout there is a blend of facts and commentary.  But the commentary is valuable insight into the minds of other drivers; it helps us to see how others perceive our actions for the brief moment that we blast on by and the few seconds after of a rush of wind and debris following in our wake.  (Or so I have heard)This class material is a fairly good balance of facts and opinion.  My fact checking supported the material which made it more difficult to challenge the subjective views which are supported by facts and figures. It is definitely written from someone of the perspective of following laws despite the (theoretical) fun and joy of maybe finding out what our car can really do.  It is a good wakeup call and may help those with a propensity for exhilaration to rethink some of the enthusiasm for a bit more sensibility and wisdom. Best online Traffic School for $5. Its really $5. Now they do charge for upgrades such as court case tracking, audio talking thru the courses and etc. But all you have to do is read and review the courses which is about 4 sections and then they give you the option to do the review or take the final exam. Highly recommended. I found the 5 Dollar Traffic School on the recommended list of Traffic Schools, then checked on Yelp. I just sat down and completed the course in one sitting, took the test, passed with flying colors and I'm done. The course is easy to navigate, provides quizzes along the way, explains incorrect answers, and concludes with a 25 question test. Definitely recommend this school! Having to take traffic is school is never fun, and always an inconvenience. So if you HAVE to take it, why not use the cheapest, quick and easy, court approved online school? 5 Dollar Traffic School really is JUST $5!!! When the court clerk handed me the list of court approved schools, she said they ranged from $5-$30. I thought to myself, "Just $5? Why do the more costly schools even exist? Must be a catch!" I immediately looked for Yelp reviews, all positive, and confirmed, via phone and license number, that this particular school was on the court's list. So, I signed up, and completed the course in about 3 hours. Would've been less if I hadn't taken a break to make dinner, and check every answer-even the ones on the practice quizzes- multiple times. It's open book, there's NO time limit, and you have 24hr access to the reading material and exams. I got one wrong answer, scoring a 96%-would have been 100% if I didn't overthink and change an answer at the last minute! Always go with your 1st choice! Once complete, I received a Congratulations, with a date and timed stamped notice that my certificate was sent to the DMV, and a confirmation of course completion was sent to my email address. My only criticism, is that there was a little too much unnecessary information. It caused some of the answers that you needed for the exam, to get lost among useless stats and stories used to exemplify road rage or reckless driving. I'm simple. However, if you do your due diligence, you'll discover this one and save yourself some hard earned cash.This school provides the same services as literally every other school on the list, but at a fraction of the price. It truly is $5, and you get everything you need. All the study materials are easy to understand and get through. It's 4 sections long with a few study questions at the end of each one. You can either read everything, listen to the provided audio recording, or just skip to the final exam.To complete the course, you have to satisfactorily pass a 25 question final exam. However, the final exam is open book, so can just CTRL+F your way to a passing score. Most of the questions are common sense, but sometimes common sense is not so common. You also get 2 chances to pass.The layout of the course is very intuitive and easy to use. Your progress is saved so you can return and pick up right where you left off anytime you want. The website is available 24/7 and I didn't encounter any technical difficulties throughout the duration of my course. Just make sure to finish the course prior to your court date. Once you've completed the course, they'll electronically send your certificate to the DMV/court for processing. The questions were really straightforward though. If you do choose to go through, there is an audio reading of the chapters.There are like 10 sections and each section has like 4-5 questions. You'll need at least 75% to move forward. After, there is the final exam. Some questions are repeats and you need at least 80% correct. You get two chances and there is no time limit. Good luck! The exam shows all four sections so no need to copy the information or keep a bunch of previous screens open. The test is pretty logical and common sense. The open book is good for the statistical information and a few of the current laws, although some of the statistics may be dated. Just go with what's in the exam. Like the DMV test, there are a few questions with multiple answers that may be correct, but one answer is the best answer so be sure to read them all. I missed one because the correct answer was also included in another choice with stronger supporting scenarios. Otherwise, I passed on the first try and was able to confirm any questions with a quick skim of the chapters. Took me under two hours from setting up to finishing the exam although I'm sure it could be done quicker.The school automatically submits completion to the courts. LA county verified the completion with their online system about a week and half later and closed the citation.Note: Upon completion of the exam it say you need to submit the survey for actual acceptance. I highly recommend doing your online traffic school through this website. The website is very user friendly and it took me less than an hour to complete the course. Every quiz is open book so you just need to take the time to look up the material to answer the question correctly. For the most part the questions just require common sense to answer them correctly but there are some questions that aren't as intuitive.There are other websites that offer the course for $3 but they either have a super outdated looking website or you have to pay extra to get some sort of proof of completion. This website sends you that for free! I thought it was worth it to have that for just $2 more since other sites charge $7 for it.If you decide to use another website, make sure you double check on the DMV website that their license is still valid. Took my time reading sections 1&2 thoroughly and answering questions which took about an hour. For sections 3&4, I scanned the lessons and went straight to the reviews. Completed last sections and final exam in a little more than 30 minutes. Certificate was sent directly to courts w copy to my email inbox. The lessons are clear, to the point, and rather interesting. Great experience. It really is $5 - there are other add-on options but you don't need to buy any of them. The whole process took me one hour, which I was able to get through at my own pace, in chunks as I needed throughout the day. The test was easy after reading through all of the course material, and it was a totally painless process from beginning to end. This was pretty painless and took me a little over an hour. It's "open book"--which means that they let you open a window with the course materials as you take quizzes and the final exam.A lot of it is common sense, and it is a little repetitive, but it is only $5 and they even send proof of completion to the DMV. Got a huge list of approved traffic schools from the CA DMV and browsed around before settling on 5 Dollar Traffic School. Good price, and looked more legit than some of the other sites (looking at you, 3 dollar traffic schools!). Having all these Yelp reviews definitely helped me with my decision.Easy to sign up - be sure to have your case/citation # and driver's license number handy. The course cost $5 and there are extra add-ons/features that cost more money, but I didn't see the need for any of those.The course itself is split into 4 sections. It is just lots of text with some pictures sprinkled in. No videos. There is no timer, so you can read (or not read) at your own discretion. I read the first few sections super closely, then realized I already know all of this stuff so skimmed through the later half of the course. I finished the course and the final exam within 30 minutes. This could be even quicker if you don't care to read the material. All you have to do is click "Next" "Next" "Next" and so on. At the end of each section there is a 4 question quiz. You have to get 3 right to move on. On the quick page itself, they provide a link to open all the readings in a separate window. The questions are pretty easy and brainless. If you are stuck on any you can just open the separate window and CTRL+F some keywords until you find the answer.After the 4 sections, there is a final exam. I think there was 25 questions and I got 23 correct. You only need 70% to pass. Again, you can open the course material in a separate window so there is no reason to not be able to pass on your first try. Read Less
