I signed up my daughter for the 6 hour training.  First two times things went well.  Last lesson he showed up a little late, it was the lesson to drive at night.  Lesson was supposed to be two hours, and she was dropped 15 minutes early.  By the time I could get to the door to let her in the instructor was no where to be found.  He didn't even wait to see if she got into the house, he had driven off as soon as she exited the vehicle, and it was dark outside.  When I called the owner to discuss it, he explained that they get a five minute break for each hour, so it would be normal for them to be dropped off 10 minutes early.  Besides the fact we lost about 20 minutes of the lesson, this wasn't explained up front.  So buyer beware.  He didn't seem to care.  I wouldn't recommend, take your business elsewhere. Based on most of the reviews posted for Kay-1, I booked three 2 hours sessions with Susana and she was wonderful with my daughter. My daughter ended up passing her behind the wheel test on her 1st attempt...so thank you Susana. Highly recommend asking for her. Read Less

Susana was perfect she made my daughter feel safe and comfortable. She kept close contact with my daughter throughout her lessons. She passed on her first try at the DMV and she is now a licensed driver. She has been driving for some time now and I just wanted to say thank you Susana for helping Sydney and my family feel safe! I was assigned Susan as my instructor and as nervous as I was when practicing at first she was able to talk me through the driving lesson, gave me tips on what to do and what not to do. This driving school is really cool , they care about you like family and not just money wise , they want to make sure that you have all the training you need in order to pass the behind the wheel test and the written one as well .i had dave at first he was awesome and now i have chris who is also awesome . i recommend this school Read Less

I highly recommend this business to any new and nervous drivers, I did three 2-hour courses with Christian and he was amazing!!! OMG . Christian was my driving instructor for two months the greatest. Tonny , and hes people the greatest. I took classes here about two years ago and I still remember how much I would dread them.  My instructor was Christian.  The car wasn't in very good condition and I didn't feel comfortable in it.  The first time I got in my instructor assumed that I knew exactly what to do (even though I had never driven before and he knew that).  He would yell (okay not yell but whenever he would talk to me it sounded very rude) at me whenever I messed up.  About 1/5 of the time spent in the car was him actually teaching me stuff.  The other 4/5 was me driving around places I didn't know and him talking about his life.  He made me stop the car sometimes so he could talk about stuff. He also made me stop at a cigar shop so he could pick up cigars and soda.  I was waiting in the car for about ten minutes... yeah idk if they're allowed to do that but I wouldn't recommend this place Read Less

Kay 1 got us through difficult driving challenges with my adult daughter!She took awhile to learn because she did not drive while she was out of state at college.  Our instructor Jack finally got her more confident with his patientapproach and honed in on the things she had to practice to pass the driving test.Eddie is a wonderful driving counselor for parents and he seemed to know all thecomforting things to tell this "nervous Nelly" mom who was always anxious!The fact is this driving experience can be really difficult for some kids and families --Kay 1 is especially good at helping those young people learn to drive.Third time was the charm!!  We almost did back flips in the DMV parking lot!! Worst driving experience ever.I ordered a set of classes from Kay-1 and it was a terrible experience. I tried to write a review shortly afterwards, but it seems it was erased? So I'm rewriting one.My "instructor" John was extremely unprofessional and rude. He didn't really "instruct" me at all. Just told me what streets to turn on and yelled at me when I made the slightest mistake, of which there were many since I had very little previous experience.Basically all of our sessions consisted of him making me drive him to get his dry cleaning, prescriptions, etc. I literally paid this company just to be treated like a chauffeur.He made me drive on the freeway twice, the first time wasn't too bad. The second time he ordered me to take my hands of the wheel and rest them on my lap while we were going 60 mph on a busy freeway. It was a bizarre and terrifying experience.I can't give more than one star because of my experience with this company, but other friends who have also used this company and had competent instructors told me they had a good experience. The company itself isn't terrible, but your experience will vary greatly depending on your instructor. Read Less

Mr. Hesterman is literally the greatest driving teacher. Kay-1 allows services where they picked me up from my home and taught me how to drive around the area. I was always extremely nervous at the wheel and wanted to become a better driver if I were to encounter the road and drive defensively. My instructor was very funny, kept me calm by having good conversation with me and really taught me the essentials to being a great driver. He gave me great tips and advice according to my driving style and now I finally worked out the kinks to parking and land changes. I would recommend this to anyone! I moved to the United States and needed to do the dmv driving test. I took the 10 hour lesson package to refresh my driving skills.The instructor was great, very patient and knowledgeable. And explained the most important things to do while driving with a passion. He made me feel very relaxed which resulted in an awesome stress free learning experience. very VERY VERY unhappy with this school. I came here for driving school during my high school years. Since i had a positive and good experience, i recommended it to my little sister. Not so long ago, my sister had notified me that during her behind the wheel training, an instructor had told her to pull over. Then took her hand, held her hand, and caressed her leg and face telling her that if she was older he would love to date her. You cannot imagine how livid and upset i was. I wanted to have a talk with the school, but my sister insisted on not wanting to cause any problems or press any charges. With this said, just be VERY careful when with this school. I would not recommend for anybodies child, and if your child does decide to attend, id carry some pepper spray. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Read Less

My daughter completed her Driver's Education and Behind the Wheel Training with K-1.  We were very happy with the experience. The in-classroom training was important to me (instead of the on-line training that most all the driving schools provide). I wanted her to be able to ask questions and engage in discussion in a group setting. And the way they schedule the classes worked out great for us. They do all the sessions within a 5-day period, then it's done! My daughter had to be late to class one day and that was no problem. She was able to make up the work. We also found the scheduling for the Behind the Wheel Training to be really easy. There were many options for days and times to schedule the training.  There were several different instructors in the classroom portion, all fine and professional. We had the same driving instructor for all the behind-the-wheel sessions, good for consistency. Overall, we were very satisfied, and recommend K-1. Read Less
