Good school , got my license in 2 weeks . I did the $1500 course . 30 hours 2 dmv trips only used 20 hours and one try at the dmv. Memo was my instructor and is really good . I highly recommend going to harbor trucking school over the many others out there if you want to pass. The price Luis the owner offers many packages that fit you're needs works with you super friendly and negotiable. Instructors are all great I happen to have Isidro very well knowledgeable of what you need to learn to get your class a. From learning skills to the road test harbor trucking school gives you the tools you need to pass I purchase the 30hr class right above $1500 around there and I only used 18hrs of those 30hrs to pass my test on the first try! The trucks they have are very simple pretty basic trucks they have Freightliners M2 tractors with 32ft boxes you'll learn the pre trip very quickly and skills they give you hints and pointers on how to execute every maneuverThank you Luis! and the guys for the knowledge and pointers that helped me get my license. =) Read Less

I wish I didn't have to write this review , but this school was a complete waste of time and money for me. I attended Harbor Trucking School due to the great reviews on yelp and location. It was the lowest priced school around me so I took a chance. The instructors can be great at times , but sometimes they don't feel like working and you can tell when those days are. Basically all my days were inside the truck conducting pre trip inspection , naming the parts of the truck on the outside . I noticed once I payed off my school they didn't seem to care anymore . I still had two trips left to dmv , but didn't offer any further assistance for me . They said my contract with them was finished well how convenient for them after my balance was paid in full when they decided not to care anymore. I regret my decision with this school . Think twice if your a guy like me who isn't the fastest learner this school is not for you they rush you to get out as soon as possible which can be a good thing and bad thing in the trucking world  . Only reason I gave two star was because of memo he was considerate on most days .I know there are more students who have also had negative experience with them they just haven't wrote their reviews . I checked out about five different schools including this one. A good friend that's been a trucker for years said this one was the best. I had to take a second look because honestly, it don't look like much with a desk in the back of a box trailer. What sold me is two things aside from my friend recommending it.. First, it's individual one on one training. And two, they are very reasonably priced when you consider what you get. A lot of the other school charge the same or more for a lot less. Everyone there is really friendly, very relaxed and very knowledgeable. I was one that accepted that I knew nothing about trucking, so I made it a point to listen to the instructors. Basically, I humbled myself so that I could be teachable. As a result I passed my test, one shot, one kill. I'm now a licensed Class A driver. So, I guess what I'm saying is this. Don't judge a book by its cover. Look at what you're getting for the money. In my eyes, the one on one was my ace in the hole. I don't think I'd have passed the first time thru without it. Luis is very accommodating and works with you as much as possible to make sure you get everything you need to get your CDL. I was lucky enough to pass on my first try at the DMV (Gardena DMV) because Harbor Trucking School gave me all the tools I needed to pass. I give Harbor 5 stars because they know exactly what the DMV is looking for and they give you all the instruction you need to pass! Pros: 1-1 instructor-to-student ratio. Can't get any better than that. Don Guillermo and Don Isidro are very knowledgable! Very professional and very patient.Very flexible in scheduling. Monday-Saturday. They even worked on 4th of July!Very fair price and worth the money! Also, Luis helps you out and allows payments if you need it.100% hands-on training, behind the wheel straight to the point.Cons: Location maybe isn't the best because it is a working yard with other trucks constantly moving in and out. However, it gets you used to watching out for traffic...so pay attention!Used to be unlimited trips to the DMV but now it is only 3. Really great group of instructors, very helpful and patient. They honestly take their time to show you exactly what will be on the DMV exam. They never try to rush you through school to take your test so they can allow more students in or nothing like that, they really care about the students actually learning and getting it down. So Harbor Trucking school, what can i say... it's a great place to go to! They do what they can to help you with what you NEED to learn Guillermo is a great instructor and he really wants to help you succeed, the school is very hands on and 1 to 1 with the instructor. My advice when you go just study the material and practice, practice, practice; it took me a month and a half to get my CDL and now I'm going to go over the road with Western Express to get my experience. I had a really great time learning How to drive a class A vehicle. Don Memo, Isidro and Luis had the patience and experience to train me 100% for the dmv driving test. It only took one and a half month to obtain my class A license. It would have took me less time if I would have studied my pre trips inspections more ( my fault ). The payments where flexible ( not expensive for 1 on 1 training ) and the scheduling to practice driving was also flexible. GO TO THIS SCHOOL ! Look no joke , I went around looking for a school and I came across El Toro in bellflower first ( DONT GO TO EL TORO! Read their reviews!!! ) anyhow I checked them out first and everything you see on their reviews is true . A friend recommended me to Harbor Trucking School and I'm happy this happened . Luis and Guillermo are great instructors and will guide you through the process to get your class A . I went in with zero freakin experience and now I am officially a Class A license holder thanks to them . Choose Harbor Trucking School over the rest . Six weeks here and I passed my Class A on the first try.  This school is not like most: there's zero classroom time.  You will spend 100% of your time on the truck at Harbor Trucking, either reviewing the air brake test, the walk-around, backing, or driving in town.  Instruction is all one-on-one.  They will show you everything you need to pass once you have done the written exam at the DMV (I used an app to study for the written test, and after 2 weeks passed the general knowledge and endorsements), just make sure you have already done your DOT physical and have the card ready when you pass the written test so you can pull your learner's permit right away at the DMV the day of your test.  Then, call Luis.They are flexible with hours, classes run in two-hour blocks throughout the day.  Guillermo and Jose also really know their stuff.  They will get you past your initial fears and get you to know the truck inside and out, and how to drive.These guys took me from virtually no experience (I'm trying to get out of office work) to a DMV-approved driver.  I will definitely send my friends to Harbor Trucking, especially after hearing from students from other schools while I was at the DMV waiting to be tested.  Plus, their prices are on par if not below other schools in the area.Harbor Trucking is the real deal. This trucking school was the only one that popped up conveniently located a couple miles from my home with one positive review. It was helpful in the beginning, I'm not gonna write anything negative because I'm a former student. With that being said it took me two months to get the comercial class A license. And the instructor Mario Sanchez is the only reason for the 5 stars. Ask for him, he's a great deal of help. Read Less
