UPDATE: 8/16/17 Spoke with Ken, owner. Amber, the appointment manager, has been let go from working here. Although I'm sorry the hear this news for her on a personal level, I believe it was a good decision for the longevity of this business. I wish LM Driving & Traffic Schools continued success. (Rating changed from 1 star to 4.)I don't like to leave poor reviews, but do feel it's necessary to let other people know my experience. I am the parent to three teenagers (twins, plus another). My oldest teen used La Mesa driving school a couple years ago with relative success. Appointments were difficult to come by, but I overlooked the situation thinking it was a temporary lack of employment issue with the company. Despite being a more expensive company, it's my pleasure to support local small businesses, so I chose La Mesa Driving School again. Unfortunately the situation has not changed. It may be a good business practice to alert customers when signing up for services that this is the way the business is run and to not expect appointments within a couple of weeks of each other. (As a side note, my teen has driven over 100 hours with me alone - which was pointed out that I need to do.) Ken, the owner, has been very professional with me, but I sincerely regret to say that I've had terrible experiences with Amber, the appointment manager. I've called and left messages, and even spoken to her on the phone attempting to make appointments when I was told she would call me back. She didn't. Today, when we finally connected again (I called), I was treated extremely rudely and hung up on! Please note that I never raised my voice to her. Amber did call back, but without an apology continued to treat me poorly - yelling at me. I'm not exaggerating, and was even told that "Ken will do whatever I tell him to do." I can understand being overworked and frustrated, but this is certainly not a professional way to treat customers, not to mention that I was told that "customers aren't always right." I was simply trying to make another appointment when I got a loud earful that other students have priority over my daughter. I get it. This is how the business is run and La Mesa Driving School has every right to run their business this way. My hope is that others will read my experience so they can choose wisely if this is the company for them. Read Less
