They are convenient, easy to schedule, they pick up & drop off from home or school, affordable, & most importantly the instructor is good w/ my son, patient, organized, timely, and communicates well with me on what I feel my son needs more help with- I noticed a big positive 180* the following day after I informed instructor that my son needed more help with u-turns & changing lanes, great job Dom! Also, for the same price as a 2hr lesson, I'm paying the driving school to take my son for his DMV behind the wheel test in a few months, in their car, & they set up the DMV appointment too, and of course when most convenient for all of us, now that's one great deal, & one major less stress for me (phew). I signed my son up for this school.  He took the online course and passed his written after 2nd try and got his permit.  Scheduled his FIRST behind the wheel lesson.  I told the instructor that he had never driven before other than maybe a few times (3 or 4) in a parking lot.  Within the first 30 minutes, he took him on the 405 Freeway!!  He said "oh he can drive, but he got a little overwhelmed" REALLY - never driven before in his life and after 30 minutes behind the wheel you took him on the freeway.  Because he was overwhelmed, the instructor drove the second hour of the lesson while my son rode along.When I called the office and let them know what had happened, they didn't seem to be concerned whatsoever.  I asked that the owner give me a call and explain their protocol in regards to taking first time drivers directly to the freeway, I never received a response.My son has had his first lesson with Varsity Driving Academy and WAY better, and my son didn't feel like he was taking a driving lesson from his Grandpa!! The only and informational Patrick saved my life from crashing. Without his help, I wouldn't be alive after he was teaching me how to park perfectly. He was patient with myself since 1. My parents aren't from the rich white city of HB 2. BMW's are luxury cars 3. My son found out about AB Teen Driving Academy through his high school paper and it had a deal for $19.99 but when I called they were running a special for the Driver's Ed for only $5.99!! Yep that's right only $5.99 so I paid that little amount and had my son complete the online drivers ed course so that he could go take his written test at the DMV. He completed it on December 9, 2017 and passed the test the 1st Time he took it with them to get his completion  certificate and the DMV had me wait 6 weeks before he could come in and take his written test to get his permit. On January 17, 2017 we went to the DMV and passed the written test on the 1st try and my son got his permit!! Thanks AB you guys were AWESOME for giving my son the tools he needed to pass the written test, now we just wait 6 months for him to take his behind the wheel test and that will be 2 weeks after his 16th bday. My first day driving with Patrick was amazing, at first I was really scared since it was my first time driving, but Patrick made the whole ride easy and comfortable. He would often make jokes and make you laugh to make you feel relaxed. Plus, if your scared of doing the wrong thing, Patrick wont yell at you, he is really patient and thoughtful. We learned about ABTDA from some friends. I took all of my lessons through AB teen driving and my experience was good up until the last one. I scheduled my last behind the wheel less the day before my big test to be prepared. My test was at 9:30 AM the next morning so i was very excited. During my lesson Louis (dom) gave me my certificate of completion and i put it in my permit. i did not realize until the morning of my test that Dom neglected to sign the certificate making it INVALID. The office didn't open until 10, 30 minutes after my test so i had to reschedule my test to a later date and wait a very long time. Very unprofessional of him and bad reflection on the compony. The best driving school! Let me just say I am over the driving age requirement so I didn't have to take class course. The behind-the wheel- package was  around $475 with discount and it's 10 hours. It's not cheap but it's totally worth it! Before I took the behind the wheel, I was really scared to drive and didn't dare to drive on the busy streets. However, AB Teen Academy helped me over come this fear. I don't know how they did it but I became confident just after 2 of the 5 lessons I took (1 per week). Walter (my Instructor) was really laid back and very patient with my driving and constant slamming the break on my first lesson. However he taught me to be a really careful driver and I learned really fast. I took the course mid Feb and end around March. I practice a little bit more before I got my license in April with little mistakes.Thank you AB Teen Academy and shout out to Walter!P.S They have plain Nissan car that won't be an embarrassment when you drive around. I think this driving school gets most of its business because it's the only one in this area.  the instructors vary greatly, but after having 3 kids go through, they are OK for the most part.  The girl at the front desk is way less than helpful though, she is very snippy and acts like you are a bother to her if you have a question or need to make a payment.  Also the website is overloaded and does not always work- a little frustrating.  for my next student, I'll be headed to the school in Costa Mesa. Please note, I am over 18 and thus my experience with driver's ed will be different from a first time teen driver.I took 4 behind the wheel classes in the middle of January with Patrick as my instructor. Before I started lessons, I was terrified of driving. I was physically shaking when I got in the car the first time. I don't know how he did it, but Patrick made me 100% comfortable with driving. He's very talkative, which was good for me. Talking made me less nervous. However, when he realized I needed to gain more control of the situation, he would stop talking until I was re-focused. The lessons were about two hours a piece. He picked me up at my house and we would drive for an hour then stop at a 7-11 for about 10 minutes and then drive the rest of the time, sometimes picking up the person that had the next lesson.Patrick was calm but fun and very encouraging. I definitely recommend asking if he is available when you sign up for behind-the-wheel.The only way for me to accurately explain the huge turnaround that Patrick made possible is to say that, I took lessons on January 17, 18, 21, and 22 and today, January 31st, I took my license test and passed with a perfect score. They are the tops, baby! Not cheap but totally worthwhile. My kids did the classroom part and their behind-the-wheel here. They were really nervous about actually driving but these instructors are adept at putting teens at ease. Great senses of humor, they make driving fun. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS DRIVING ACADEMY!!  I signed my son up, and it took 3 times of going to the DMV to pass the written test!!  I paid for the classroom and behind the wheel package, and once he finally passed the written test, I was told that the courses and packages expire after one year.  I signed him up over the phone, and the person that signed me up actually signed the agreement, and I was never informed, or even given a courtesy phone call to "remind" me that the course was going to be expiring.  I am a single parent, and this is very expensive to me.  The attendant on the phone acted like she could care less about their reputation when I asked her if it was worth getting bad referrals.  Bad business when you take someones money but will not honor the service.  ESPECIALLY when the receipt w/ this policy was signed by the person that took my credit card information over the phone!!  SHOP around...... These guys know what they're doing.This is the easiest, most laid back driver's ed course you could possibly take. While 5 hour classes sound terrible, it goes by pretty quickly (you get a lunch/dinner break in the middle). And there are only five classes! You can easily finish your driver's ed in two weeks. Sure beats other places where it usually lasts 1-2 months. The instructors are really well trained and enthusiastic. What I really appreciated was that they give you a sample permit test at the beginning of each class and you go over all of the answers. So by the time you take your permit test, you know or at least have seen all the possible questions. As long as you pay attention in the classes, you'll be totally prepared for your written test.Now onto the behind the wheel: you get an hour and a half (I believe) of one-on-one instruction. The first time they had me go out, I got to go on the freeway! They do this to raise your confidence. You get a snack break at 7-11 in the middle. I've heard of some kids going through drive thrus too. They'll let you drive anywhere you want. These guys are super laid back. The best part: no embarrassing advertisement on the cars. Just a plain ol' car. DO NOT do online or at home courses, you won't learn anything. It is so crucial to have everything explained to you. These classes are so painless. I signed my daugher up for this driving school. The first lesson started out with the instructor picking her up up with another student in the car. The instructor drove that student home and then gave my daughter her first lesson. After the second lesson with the same instructor, my daughter told me she did not want to continue as the instructor was touching her making her feel very uncomfortable. She also told me that the instructor openly admitted to her that he had had numerous complaints agianst him for the same type of actions. My daughter also told me that one of her girlfriends had the same instructor and they made a stop at a local 7 Eleven store and while walking back to the car the instructor put his arm around her. I immediately called the school and told them that I was withdrawing my daughter from the driving school. I have had other conversations with other female students using the same driving school who also said that the instructor was overly friendly in an unpforfessional manner. I have since found out from other reliable sources that there have been instructors from the same school showing up intoxicated to give driving lessons. I graduated from AB Teen Driving academy and I had a great time while I was there. The instructors were very informative, but they also made the classes very fun. It wasn't just lecture the entire class. We got to see videos, presentation of different scenarios, and even tried on goggles to really look at the effects of drunk driving and how they impair your driving.
