Central California Driving School has provided with the knowledge to succesfully pass my drivers exam, and feel confident driving on my own. The staff is personable, professional, and knowledgable. Where to start....My oldest son received a gift certificate to this driving school from some out of town family members as a birthday gift about 2 years ago. Due to his grades being less than stellar, I didn't let him use the certificate. When we tried to contact the school for the first week we left messages on Monday Wednesday and Friday. Never heard a word.The second week my son got ahold of someone and explained the situation and the woman who took the message stated someone would call us...NO ONE EVER DID.On the third week. I called...and on two different days I spoke to a woman who told me she would pass on my inquiry to someone and I would get a call back.Now, I have spoken to friends who have had similar experiences with this company. However they are of the belief that the company has changed owners. IF THIS is the case since the name stayed the same and I am sure operations costs were transferred to the new owners it makes sense that the gift certificate would be honored...or at least we should be offered to make up the difference should the prices have changed.So here is the bad news for this driving school. First, since no one has made any attempt to rectify or even contact me I cannot, nor will I, recommend this school to anyone. (HOW CAN I TRUST THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN TO A COMPANY THAT WON'T RETURN A PHONE CALL!!!?)Second, as a father of four...yeah my other kids won't be taking classes from them.Third, The PTA emails that go out to all the parents for BOTH of the schools my children attend will get a copy of this review as a warning of the business practices of this company. (Again... If you can't return phone calls to parents who have pre-paid for classes... How can you be trusted with our children as YOUR students...if an accident takes place will you forget to notify us???)The fourth and final action... my wife works as a regional supervisor for one of the large auto insurance companies. She has 30 plus agents who work for her in half a dozen offices,  I can assure you the lack of professionalism of this driving school will be known to every parent who asks her agents about a Fresno/Madera area driving school. Poor customer service and unprofessional staff!! Unfortunately, it is true what they say, you get what you pay for. A word of advice, spend the extra money and take your business to one of the other fine driving schools here in the Fresno area. Not only will it save you time, but a headache as well. My experience: I had a 0800am driver's training appointment set up for my son. We showed up at 0745am to the facility and waited until 0845am. No one ever showed up, the doors to the facility remained locked even though signs on the door stated the business opens at 0800am. No phone calls from staff, no signs posted stating why the business was closed, and phone calls to the facility went unanswered. At 0915, I was finally able to reach the receptionist. Her excuse, apparently one of the staff member had taken the company vehicle out for a joy ride without authorization (this speaks volume about the type of staff that are employed at this facility.) All staff are currently busy trying to track down the vehicle from home. The receptionist made it pretty clear to me that my missed appointment was not of a concern to her right now. Her priority right now is finding the vehicle and when she does that they'll deal with me. She then hangs up on me. I called right back and she does the exact same, click! we'll just end it here and say I'll be getting a full refund. Read Less

I'm guessing they're closed now.  But all the complaints about them not answering their phones is legit.  Call call call call call...no answer...might've been a good instructor, but a poor business man.  Must be why they closed. Read Less

The best place to get behind the wheel training! Peter was the best instructor He was calm and spoke clearly when I made a mistake he would also tell me tips and advice to help me become a better driver! He also told me what a DMV instructor is looking for and the mistakes most teen drivers make. I bought 3 lessons because I previously when to Traffic Depot which sucked and there cars were old and smelly! I spoke with Dena I think she's manger/owner of central California driving school and offered me a discount for 3 lessons because of what I had previously gone through @ Traffic Depot! Definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants to get excellent BTW Training! I passed my test on my 1st try in August! All because of peter! Thank You Read Less

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!Apparently they underwent an ownership change recently and are no longer honoring their customers prior to the change. My step daughter cannot receive her last lesson according to DENA because they have "expired". We have already PAID IN FULL for her lessons and only had to postpone her final lesson due to a family illness. We were just hung up on by DENA after she said either pay $60 (for a so called "missed lesson" that NEVER happened) or show her our phone records to prove that we called to postpone/reschedule the final lesson. PLEASE, take your business elsewhere. If you don't trust me, look at other recent reviews and you will find similar comments regarding these false charges and unprofessionalism. Read Less

Peter is a great teacher.  He taught our oldest and now our final two...he is good natured, steady, encouraging but also very clear on what needs to be worked on in order to be a safe driver and pass the licensing exam.  According to the students, he gives clear direction, discusses how to improve, and does not freak out (like mom!).  I don't have experience with other teachers at the school, but I would recommend Peter. Very unprofessional. They consistently start late and end early. My first lesson I had to wait and go along with my instructor to drive students to their alternative location because of one reason or another. This was taken out of MY lesson time, and she did not compensate for the time lost. My instructor also made me stop at McDonald's for her. She said she had to use the bathroom, then returned with a breakfast and coffee. Extremely unprofessional. This person should have planned before hand to use the bathroom, and eaten before.... Using MY time was totally inappropriate. Then this terrible teacher (the same one), during the next lesson made me go to a McDonald's drive through to get food/drink (don't remember). Also, she started the lesson late, we had to return to change cars, and ended slightly early.This business is unprofessional, I would search for a different driving school. I wish I had known their business was the way it is before choosing them to take Driver's Training. Read Less
