i contacted casey from a friend of mine and he was an awesome instructor. i had been driving for 7 months already so there wasnt much for me to learn he just made sure i wasnt rolling through stops scanning looking over my shoulder (pretty much all the errors i make when driving with my parents that they never correct me on) learning how to parellel park for the first time and the right and easy way and i passed my drive test and only made 2 mistakes at chula vista DMV which is suppose to be harder than san ysidro. i'd definately recommend all my friends. The instructor was on his phone a lot of the time per my teen and seemed a little uninterested. The same day the instructor had my teen drive him to the store and wait 10 minutes in the parking lot, dropped him off at home 15 minutes earlier than he should have.  Price is decent but I'm not happy with the quality. This place might not be really nice looking but I would rather come here then anywhere else. They taught me things that I had no clue about. My children have done the driving classes and I've needed to fix ticket. I felt welcomed and so did my children. Highly recommend! Read Less

You will learn how to drive and it is reasonably priced, but one of the drivers called the day before to ask if she could come during the day instead of at night when I had specifically requested a night time lesson well in advanced because I wanted my daughter to practice driving at night. Mildly annoying--nothing major. My big complaint is the grumpy old man who answers the phone. I called to rearrange the lesson THEY CANCELLED and he asked me if the lesson was for a new driver. I said "no." Then he started asking for my zip, etc., I told him my daughter had already taken lessons with them and then he got in a snit, passed the phone to someone else and (loud enough for me to hear) complained that I had given him the wrong information. I told the girl who picked up the phone and she said "Well he's hard of hearing." Maybe someone else should be answering the phone then..? Read Less

I would of totally given 5 stars because my daughter is happy w/ the experience so far. Maria is a good instructor but I'm a little upset that my daughter was dropped off 15 min early. Maria told her to remind her on the 3rd driving training & she'll get an extra 15 then, the reason was she had another appointment. I wasn't too confident about my driving, but on the day of the driving test I used their car and they sent their instructor Alex to bring me there. Alex was my driving instructor and I have to say that he is THE BEST. I only took 2 behind the wheel classes and I was ready for the DMV test. (Although more practice won't hurt) he even let me borrow his car, he picked me up for the DMV test and I passed it first try! Right on time for fall semester. He is very straight-forward and will ALWAYS let you know when you messed up or when you did something great while driving. He will not pressure you, in fact he will help calm you down if you are nervous. I HIGHLY recommend Alex, If you do exactly as he says, I guarantee you will have your license, QUICK!! I called back and asked if she could have a female instructor.  I was told by one person that it would be no problem for her to get a female instructor because the had many.  Later I received a call back from the manager, he told me that they did not any female instructions and he was very offebded  that I asked and he did not want my business and cancelled my appointment Read Less

I made an appointment but called back the next day to ask if I could switch to a female driver cause my dad wasn't comfortable with me being with a male. And the person who does the scheduling told me there was no opening. I told him i was fine with any other day after that he started being rude and told me to look for another service and hung up. He has years, upon years, upon years of experience and it shows. He is calm and for me being a worrier that means more than you can imagine. This school is worth every penny. I was 21 , I knew how to drive but i couldnt pass the written test. I went here for a few days passed the written exam and got my permit. I went off the reviews and asked for Maria Gonzalez. She's a great person overall, but I did not like driving her car at all. With the cars Ive driven, its easy to slowly and smoothly start moving from a stop but with her car you have to push it a little harder and doing that sometimes makes it feel like the car is pulling you in the beginning. Also, (she got this fixed), but I one of the lessons with her I went on her wheel was not aligned, and it was not comfortable having to drive with the wheel slanted for the car to be straight. She doesn't really teach you in my opinion and in my experience. She just kinda tells you what to do (although I did learn a few things from her just telling me stuff), and if you do it wrong she tells you to try again until you get it. Read Less

I'm located in Mira Mesa and my instructor was Jesse! He was very nice and extremely patient with me. I had no one to really practice with me so he taught me how to drive all the way for such a low price. He even took me and my friend to the DMV to get our driver license :) Hes extremely funny and really fun to talk too. Hes also going to be teaching my boyfriend very soon! Maria Gonzalez is AMAZING! She is is so sweet, patient, & helpful. She really understands that we're all beginners & she really helped me by explaining to me what I did wrong, why it was wrong, & showing me what I did by reenacting it & then showing me the proper way to do it. When I would make mistakes that require quick fixation, she would calmly grab the bottom or side of the wheel to prevent an accident & she did it in a way that didn't make me feel offended. Or she would gently step on the break on her side of the car. With her, I was not ashamed of my mistakes & with each lesson, I honestly improved SO much!The first session was in residential areas & in busy interersections, did the basics like turning, nothing crazy. Second session, we did unprotected left turns, lane changes, the freeway, & parallel parking. Third session, same as the second but she brought me to the routes that the Chula Vista DMV tests people for their license, which was pretty cool, & she really helped me sharpen all that I've learned.Every lesson, she makes sure to cover once or twice the buttons of the car & makes you identify them yourself & explain what everything is bc they ask you during the test. It's really cool & now I'll never forget them!She's also very easy to talk to & such a down to earth human being. I really loved her & I can't wait to make her proud in 6 months!Tip: She does not take card, only cash. $75 a session for behind the wheel (3 sessions total). PLEASE, tip her!
