Hallelujah Driving School is my #1 recommended driving school, the teacher at the school is very reliable and makes you feel at ease when you're driving. I do lessons with him, and honestly, unlike some of the other driving teachers that may yell at you and teach you not as well, Hallelujah Driving School's teacher is always calm and composed and makes sure you get the best learning experience when driving. He makes a schedule that fits to yours and if something comes up, he helps to arrange a different time schedule. Hallelujah Driving School helps to point out your mistakes ahead of time so that you can be able to fix them as you learn to drive with the instructor (in a non criticizing manner). I highly recommend and will definitely be sending my sibling to learn from here!!! FIVE STARS!! Read Less

This was the first time that I learned driving. I had postponed to learn because I was afraid of it. But now, after taking 12 hours lessons, I got the car license and a bit confident of driving. It is pure 12 hours of driving because I didn't have a car to practice; so if you have a car to practice, 6 hours of lessons could be enough. The teacher was gentle, but sometimes he is not on time, then he will teach you a bit of extra time, so no worries about the lesson hours. and I researched and compared all the driving school prices in Cerritos, and I found that Hallelujah offers the best deal. If you live near Cerritos, this must be the best driving school. Read Less

Good price but horrible instruction. My instructors name is Jacob, very broken English, tells you to do completely wrong things, and blames you when he makes a mistake. He is constantly talking on the phone, texting, and cutting lessons short. He schedules lessons very far apart as well. He is very rude and will telling you thngs like "speed up youre too slow" but as soon as you speed up he yells for driving to fast. He hasnt taught me my parents already have. He will constantly reach over and grab the wheel when he thinks you are doing bad. As you turn he will tel you to speed up but then yell "too fast" He made me drive all the way to knotts on the street and youd think he would make you practice taking the free way back home, nope streets all the way home. She asked her friends and two of them recommended Hallelujah. Since they had just gone to them I decided to give them a chance, even though I was skeptical about the cheap rate. You know the saying "you pay for what you get." Well Jacob or Jade arrived at our house on time. I went outside to to meet him, he was very professional, his English is a little broken but I was able to understand him. My daughter took the 6 hour course which was $210.00. My experience with the driving school wasn't very pleasant. My driving instructor, whose name I'm not aware of, was decent enough, but there were several key problems that I had with him.Firstly, one of the main problems was that he was always at least five minutes late. I'd have tolerated it more if he had made up the small amount of time at the very least, but he'd still stop a bit early, which I didn't appreciate. The worst was when my instructor took a twenty minute bathroom break. Although irritated, I would have been okay with it if he had at least made up for the time. He didn't.During the training session, the instructor took multiple phone calls from other customers and set up other appointments on his planner, taking more than five minutes at times. He picked up at least four to five phone calls every lesson, while just whispering directions here and there. When he did have the time to give me instructions, it was often scathing. Not to mention, on my second lesson, when I had barely driven much, he directed me to a freeway. I was absolutely terrified since I hadn't driven much before, and I did not appreciate him not asking me whether I felt ready enough to take on the freeway. He also did not communicate to me instructions and tips every effectively. He would just tell me what to do in broken English without explaining, and without explanations, I applied what he said to similar situations but wasn't correct. So he got annoyed at me, though he did not yell thankfully. The instructor was easily irritated, however. He always put me down, and even after the required 6 hours, I felt less confident, despite putting a lot of effort in practicing. Overall, my experience with the driving school was quite unpleasant.I called the driving school to talk to them, and I relayed all of the above to them. They mentioned that a 5-10 minute break was allowed during the training session, without making up for that lost time. (I waited in the car for almost twenty minutes while the instructor did his business.) And receiving calls during the session was also okay, though long calls were supposed to be held off. Even after telling them about that bathroom break, however, they didn't apologize, which I found rather rude. All I know is that I won't be recommending this driving school to a friend. Read Less

Even though this driving school is named Hallelujah Driving & Traffic School, it is not the answer to your prayers! My driving instructor (John) was unsafe, didn't use up all the time, and didn't speak english well. The driving was split up into three 2 hour sections. The car has 2 sets of brakes and gas pedals that are connected to each other so John can control them if he needs to.The first day, we did some basic driving and stopped for 10 minutes at Starbuck to get something to drink. Every time I turn, he says, "turning, turning" as if I didn't know that! He doesn't pay enough attention because he told me to go when the light for the left lane turned green while our forward lane didn't. Then he ended the class 5 minutes early. The second day, we did basically the same thing except that he was on the phone most of the time. Also, he didn't show up at the appointed time and we called him. Turns out he forgot that it was today and tried to make an excuse that we had scheduled it for 3:30 instead of 3:00.The third day, he was supposed to arrive by 3:00. After calling him he said that he had something else scheduled and forgot about my driving instruction and wanted to know if 5:00 was ok. Sure, more night driving. He showed me the DMV driving course for a city that I didn't live in and wouldn't take the test in anyway. Then, while exiting a neighborhood, he said to go. He didn't look far enough, but I did and noticed a large truck going at the high speed in the lane that he told me to turn into. I waited. He said, "good eye". When we were changing lanes, he said, "change lane" even though there was a car in that lane. We went to the freeway and he said to go faster and made the car go +70 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. We went at +70 MPH for at least 2 miles until we ran into traffic. Another thing, when changing lanes of the freeway, he said to always speed up no matter if there is a car or not. If there is a car, then break really quickly. To top it off, throughout the whole trip, he was listening to the radio the whole time were driving. Read Less

I called many local driving schools, did some price comparisons, and talked with some other parents before choosing a driving school. Although I did read some of the negative reviews here on Yelp, I went with Hallelujah Driving School to meet the DMV requirements for my son to obtain his driver's license. At the time they were offering a summer special (even though it was the end of summer) and was able to get a discounted price. The instructor called my son the day before his first appointment to remind him, which was nice. He arrived on time and made sure my son had his permit, signed the instructor papers required by the DMV, and then they were on their way. After the first session, he informed me my son was a great driver. He also scheduled my son's driver's test at the same DMV location that he obtained his permit. We were able to break up the appointments into four sessions including one review day before his driver's test. I did notice that the actual drive times were inconsistent, and once I addressed it with the instructor he ensured that the total of six hours would be completed, as required. If this is a problem make sure you address it so they can fix it, you want to make sure that your child is getting the full instruction time. During the final appointment, they went to the driving school and showed my son a video of common mistakes drivers make during the test, which was a great tip for him. I am very satisfied as my son successfully obtained his driver's license on the first try! Read Less

This place doesn't even deserve half a star. Most miserable experience ever. Whatever you do, do not get Jacob as your driving instructor. Communication is terrible here. Instructor's (Jacob's) attitude was extremely bad; yelled at me for consecutive five minutes for breaking at a yellow light. Instructor was always on the phone, at least half of the time; he didn't really pay attention to what I was doing. Instructor arrived 30 minutes late every lesson and always left 5-10 minutes early. After being confronted and asked to make up for the lost time, he got angry and yelled and only made up 15 minutes. He is not honest with money. He charges different people different prices for behind the wheel. My dad called to ask how much Hallelujah charged for taking me to the DMV to take my test. The lady told him $80. However, when Jacob asked if i wanted him to take me, he told me $90. Car driven is an extremely bad vulgar smelling corolla, spare yourself. Jacob was my instructor, he is on his phone a lot, but he knew what he was doing. He is very strict, but he does it for your own good. He wants youu to pass your test so he gives youu his honest criticism. He might come off rude, but I'm taking my test Wednesday and I feel confident because of what he's taught me.

DONT EVER COME HERE FOR BEHIND THE WHEEL.Edit: I previously reviewed this driving school but I think they deleted their page and started over... Read Less

terrible. huge waste of money. my instructor taught me nothing. he just told me to drive and always fell asleep 15 mins into every 2 hour appointment, waking up every 5 mins telling me to turn places but getting us completely lost. it was impossible to set up appointments with my instructor also. the only way i could get a date or time wass by telling him 2 whole weeks in advance. he even cancelled on me the day before my last lesson, the day i was supposed to take my driving test so i had to move it back. TERRIBLE. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE Read Less
