I booked an appointment online and got a confirmation (6 days in advance). One day before the appointment they called me up and cancelled the booking saying "Its too far away for an early morning booking".I asked them to move it a little later on same day and they said that they can't come that far for *same rates* (maybe paying a little more would helped them to come over).If you don't travel that far then DONT TAKE BOOKINGS ! My husband is an experienced driver, but since he just moved to the CA, he had to take the driving test as a new driver.  We found Olympic Driving School through Yelp and gave them a call.  No one answered right away and after I hung up, Mo called me back as he saw the missed call.  Way to follow up!  Anyways, Mo was patient and gave my husband lots of tips.  After 3 hours with Mo, my husband feels much more comfortable and confident with driving in CA and felt that he has learned a lot.  He says the preparation for the test was excellent since Mo pointed out all of the possible challenges that could happen on the test.  He felt that with Mo's help he was able to pass the test...with only 1 mistake! Can't recommend Mo and Jaime enough, learned so much from them.  Since moving here I haven't had the best of luck with driving schools, some too expensive and others just plain bad.  Mo and Jaime are both very patient and took the time to over my mistakes and things I had been confused about (hello unprotected turns), and had me go over them again and again.  I finally got my license today, and it was in large part to Olympic Driving School. I took lessons here based on Yelp reviews, and went out with Mohammad.  At first, based on phone conversation, I thought it would be great.  I had had a license for many years but never drove.  My husband took me out and my skills were refreshed.  But more was needed.  I went out once with Mo.  For some reason he thought I only wanted one lesson.  The session seemed to go fine.  We discussed follow-up session the next week.  Then I called.....and I called....and I called.  No one called me back after 3 messages.Three weeks later my husband asked if I was taken more lessons (he knew the story).  SIGH -- I had to find someone else?!  Thank god -- I did.  I won't name names, but I found him on Yelp.  He was great, worked with me, listened to me -- and now my driving exceeds my expectations.Maybe Mo works best with a student who is fairly typical, and he can teach to "taking the test".  That wasn't me.  He seemed to be good with some folks.  But not for me. You should totally take driving classes with Mr. Jaime! I took 11 classes with him because my family doesn't have much time to practice with me. I am 18 that I really need to learn how to drive for commute. His teaching is very clear that he gave great instruction that makes you feel comfortable even in the first class. He took me to practice on the DMV testing route which is the exact same route I went on the driving test. I know that in other driving school, they don't even tell my friends the testing route. I practiced a lot with him so I was not even nervous during the test. He would also correct my mistake right away in a very nice way that won't stress you out. He came to anywhere I asked him to pick me up on time, which makes it very convenient for me as a student. He is very funny to talk to so you won't feel awkward during the lessons. For the test, I recommend to use their car for the test since it is the car that you mostly practiced with. I also highly recommend to take more than 3 lessons because you will be much more comfortable with driving than practice with your family (which is always stressful). With many years of teaching, Mr. Jaime is very experienced that you will easily get your license. Read Less

We used the services of this company for my daughter preparing for the driving test. She was working with Jaime Chavez. We took one class right after she got her permit so she can start practicing with us and the last two classes right before her driving test. Every time i called to make or change the appointment i was able to talk to a person right away and all arrangements were made very fast. Jaime was always very sharp on time for the appointment. He took her to the area of the DMV she chose for the test to get familiar with the area. My daughter passed her test on the first try on 02/28. We don't have more teenagers in our household but i recommend this company to those who need this servie. Read Less

I was referred Olympic by a friend regarding getting my new au pair additional driving instruction prior to her DMV exam.  After picking her up at my house. they took her through a two hour driving session which she enjoyed, consistent with the recommendation that I had received.  This was $105 for two hours. The instructor recommended that she do a classroom session ($50 extra), and this is where the problems begin.  When we dropped her off for the classroom session, no one was there and no one bothered to call us as follow up.  I called back four days later to express my disbelief, at which time they acknowledged they could have done better.  Fundamentally, it's hard for me to imagine that a business run with this level of disorganization could be a competent source of instruction on how to follow the DMV's often arcane rules.  That said, the original instructor was quality.  We will look for another provider going forward. This review is for adult private lessons to prepare for the CA DMV road test. The folks at Olympic DS did a two-hour Saturday session with my wife and me around the streets of downtown San Mateo to prepare for the possible routes taken by the testers. Our teacher was knowledgeable about the most popular driving courses and pointed out the trouble spots - 2-way stops, turning lanes that end abruptly, unprotected lefts, poorly-marked speed limit zones, areas with obstructed vision, etc. - so that things were much easier for the actual test. After having taken this refresher/prep course, my wife passed the test on the very next opportunity, although we did practice the routes several additional times on our own. The road tests are highly unpredictable with lots of random traffic and pedestrians to deal with, so having an instructor give you a private lesson ahead of time - around $100 - is totally worth the investment! And if we never see that DMV again, it will be fine with us! It's not a bad place, but we have better things to do with our Saturday mornings than cruising the nearly empty streets of downtown San Mateo - like sleeping in or hitting the excellent farmers' market at the College of SM.
