I am very Grateful for Yolanda preparing me for the driving test on my two hour lesson and even attempted to get me a Same day appointment (didn't but she tried ) showed me what the DMV examiners mostly look at and what I mostly needed to work on.In so little time I learned very much . Had scheduled an appointment with her in two weeks but I had found an appointment in another location next day , gave her a call and was able to get me another person to take me her name is Martha and she was such a caring , extremely helpful person spent the whole day with me at the DMV gave me confidence and was very tough on me (in a good way) in order for me to snap out of my anxiety and pass my test. i am so grateful for both and happy to say I'll be referring them to Yolanda ! I signed up for 7 hours of lessons and a  driving test. For my first 6 hours I had Yolanda teaching me. She was the so helpful in calming me down when I first drove. She really helped me become a confident driver and taught me how to not be scared of LA driving. I also went on the freeway and that's what initially scared me the most. However, with Yolanda, she fixed that so easily. I was a fresh, new, baby driver and I had no idea what I was doing. If you want an instructor that will instill good driving habits and amazing techniques I highly recommend Yolanda and her services!!! She's professional and on time! She's also easy to talk to and funny!For my 1 hour warm up and DMV driving test I had Fred. He's funny and will be firm when it comes to your mistakes. He'll let you know what you need to work on and how everything works. He came on time as well! In the end, I passed my driving test and now I can go to school on my own!!! ********* This review is for FRED. *********FRED: 0/5. I honestly would give him negative stars if I could. I don't know where to begin. I had him for one 2-hour session and it was the worst, most counterproductive driving lesson I have ever had. I was honestly so livid when I finished the session that I nearly requested that another 2 hour session be refunded to me because I learned absolutely nothing from Fred. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HIM! All the issues with Fred: 1. He YELLS. A LOT. Fred's personality is the polar opposite of Yolanda's. Yolanda was very nice and patient in all of the sessions I had with her, and she always left me in a happy and confident mood. Fred, on the other hand, did not. He constantly yelled at me for doing what Yolanda had taught me in all my previous lessons. One example was slowing down before approaching a stop sign/red light. This was, as Yolanda taught me, to prevent from stopping abruptly when we get too close to the stop sign/red light. So when I got around to slowing down for these traffic indications, Fred began yelling at me: "WHY ARE YOU LETTING GO OF THE GAS ALREADY?" "YOU'RE SLOWING DOWN TRAFFIC!" etc. He forced me to continue pressing on the gas until we were approximately 3 yards away from the stop sign/red light, and I complied because I was afraid of what else he would yell at me. 2. He WILL come 30+ minutes late. I was a busy high school senior in the middle of midterms. Every minute counted for me. But not for Fred! Despite being a driving instructor, he failed to accurately read a home address and ended up in A DIFFERENT CITY when it was time to pick me up for my driving lesson. 3. He talks s*** about you behind your back. I left my session with Fred a worse driver than when I started my session with him. I essentially devolved. However, this was not my fault. It's not easy to drive well when a man you've only met for 2 hours is yelling at you nearly every other minute! After I passed my driving test (mind you, I was the FIRST of Yolanda's students to pass with the particular DMV person I had), Yolanda told me that Fred told her I would fail, but we got to prove him wrong because she believed in me. YEP. You heard that right! A driving instructor who had me for only 2 HOURS (and yelled at me for those 2 hours) thought that those 2 hours were an accurate reflection of my driving abilities. He went behind my back and blatantly told someone else that I was going to fail. I have no words. The lack of professionalism is unbelievable.*********This review is for YOLANDA.*********YOLANDA: 5/5Yolanda was an amazing instructor. I had never stepped behind the wheel before, but in the 10 hours that I was with her, I was able to pass my driving test on the first try with only 6 mistakes! Yolanda was very patient and noticed the things I needed to work on throughout our sessions. She put in the effort to make sure that I worked on what i needed to work on during our lessons, which made me an overall better driver for the test! However, she often failed to put 100% of her attention into the sessions. She would frequently be on her phone while I was driving, even when the streets were very busy. I had gone to another driving school prior and I regret it because I should've just gone to YDS first. Yolanda is so sweet and kind! I took a 2 hour driving lesson with Yolanda and had a fantastic experience. She made me feel very comfortable and explained everything multiple times till I understood the rules. She even gave me tips on how to practice on my own car. She was firm when needed and encouraging when I was nervous. I changed my driving test location to Glendale (as opposed to Pasadena) and Yolanda was nice enough to take out time on the phone and gave me some instructions of things to keep in mind due to the new location.I passed my driving test and very grateful to Yolanda for all her support! I had an amazing experience with Yolanda's Driving School. Yolanda is incredibly knowledgable when it comes to what the test administrators look for. She quickly identified my mistakes and helped me correct them through repetition. What makes her such a great teacher is that her main goal isn't for you to just pass the test, but to actually make you a better driver and pass with as few marks as possible. I definitely recommend this driving school for beginner drivers, regardless of experience on the road. Yolanda is professional, encouraging, and a pleasure to be around. Her services are easily accessible, affordable, and of great quality. She is very knowledgeable and patient, so even if you make a mistake, she will be understanding and give you constructive advice on how to improve, rather than be upset/scold you or ruin your confidence.I had 2 hours of training with her and a driving test DMV appt with her. First off: THANK YOU FRED! First Impression: I was, at first, a bit uneasy about choosing this school because it was relatively new, but after looking at all the happy reviews, I chose Yolanda's driving school. I am SO GLAD I made that decision!!!!Pricing: The pricing was better than the other well rated driving schools in the area that I looked at (pricing is listed on their website).My Experience: My instructor was Fred and he's this extremely kind and funny guy who made the experience so much more enjoyable. He was extremely professional, always cautious of what I was doing and what the drivers around me were doing. He never texted or called others while I was driving (unlike Zoan driving school eek) unless it was a work call from Yolanda. He was aware of all my trouble areas and made sure that he fixed them before the test. He was extremely prepared for every scenario that was on the test. I purchased the 4 hour w/ driving test and an 1 hour lesson before the driving test and it was definitely enough for me (but I drove a bit off and on for a year). 8 hours should be enough for a beginning driver! What makes them different from the other driving schools (at least from the one who taught me a long time ago) was that they were honestly super kind and professional people. Fred never made me feel nervous and he never yelled. He always had a smile on his face, making jokes, trying to make me relax when I was nervous as hell. I have 3 children.  With my first two kids, I used an individual for driving instruction who was good but had issues.   So I searched for another instructor and was given Yolanda's name.  We never looked back.  She was always on time, professional, friendly and knowledgable.  She would respond to texts promptly.   My son felt comfortable with her and felt confident in what she had taught him.  Yolanda even took him to his driving test as she was able to keep him calm and collected.  He passed on his first try. I have know Yolanda for almost 20 years now , she is an amazing teacher very professional and friendly and she goes out of her way to make sure you are ready for DMV driving test. Her positive attitude and how much she really wants to see her students pass, learn and succeed  is very apparent , I have recommended her to many clients of mine family and close friends they were all very pleased with their class weather it was drivers ED or driving classes they all had positive things to say about their experience with Yolanda.
