I sense that some of the other reviewers may still in their "honeymoon" phase.I recommend this school. It is reasonably priced and you will be treated pretty well. They are very decent, down-to-earth folks, with good instructors. Notice I didn't say excellent instructors. But they're good.I can only give 3 stars stars because I must say, when I went there, they were very negligent in really preparing us for what we'd face when going to work as a company driver for one of the major carriers. But if you knew what what probably going to happen to you as an OTR solo driver, you'd probably not waste your time.I would say the treatment of truck drivers is a national disgrace, along with our mentally insane drug war and marxist income tax system.SWTDT allowed several really bad companies to come into the class to recruit, like Werner, where I went to work after graduating because Werner's Phoenix terminal was nearby and I was out of money.Standing at the end of an off ramp with a coffee can and a sign saying "Please Help. God Bless" I would probably have made more money than in my first year on the road driving for Werner Enterprises. But then, I wasn't on the road that much. I was either waiting for their incompetent planners to get me a decent load, or waiting for my truck to be repaired. . .it broke down on a weekly basis. It was depressing and frustrating, blowing my mind that it was even legal in the USA to treat someone the way they treated us.After going through Hell on Earth with Werner, and a little less Hell with US Xpress, I was hired by Crete Carrier and life got better. Crete was/is a good company. When a driver goes out on the road alone, the hardest thing to master is backing and parking between other parked tractor trailers or just between trailers. In the real world, you will have to park when space is limited. . .anyone can set up and park at a massive WalMart distribution center. So you should NOT feel very competent if you have not become proficient at backing, and that means doing it 500-1000 times, between real vehicles (or suitable props) not little rubber cones. Southwest Trucking really fails its students in this area.Everything else was fine. Read Less
