Best Instructors and best training center ever!! I highly recommend this facility to anyone interested in learning to ride. I enrolled with 0 experience, and left with a good experience and an endorsement. The instructors there are excellent, professional and really know how to teach. Shout out to Jim Barnett, an awesome instructor! He truly has the gift of a teacher, and shared great tips to help me pass. Can't say enough of good things about this training facility. Everyone from the answering the telephone to the facility, 5 stars for everything! Thank you sincerely! Read Less

I took the Basic Rider Course in July. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about handling my motorcycle and, more importantly, about how to stay safe. I enjoyed the course. The instructors were very patient and encouraging. Lots of tips: Slow speed maneuvering, U-Turns, hard stops, swerving to avoid hazards, setting up for cornering and completing a corner. Keeping your eyes up, looking where you want to go. After a few weeks of riding, applying this new knowledge, I was much more confident. I then took two Skills Practice Series courses. Low Speed Maneuvering and Hazard Avoidance. The instructors continuously pointed out where I could improve and what a difference. Next I will do braking. I recommend TEAM Arizona to anyone. Read Less

Great classes for all levels - from stalling at stop lights to track days. If you aren't sure of your riding level, give them a call, and i highly recommend the one-on-one session. Bill was excellent at throttling the difficulty of the course so that I was always pushing myself. They'll let you take breaks when you need them, and you will need them, but you can push yourself till you're wonderfully sore if you want to. These guys are super responsive and professional. I called them about the training in the morning and got a call later that night verifying the time. These coaches are top notch. They walk the fine line of "This should be fun" and "Take this seriously". I felt the course and the test were much more applicable to real life situations than the MVD one. I wish I would started with these guys 10 years ago. I fully plan on taking the whole series. Read Less

Highly recommend Team Arizona. We had a scheduling problem when the class we signed up for was cancelled less than an hour before start time. Because we had traveled such a long distance, Craig went out of his way to juggle some things around, so my boys and I could take the class at their Gilbert location instead. The classroom portion was a breeze, and most of the material is common sense stuff. The skills exercises were fun, and some of them quite difficult. The exercises progressed rapidly from one to the next. Read Less

I just completed the Basic Rider Course with Team Arizona. It was fantastic. From the time I met Nick who introduced me to the course, during the time I registered in the office, right until the time I left with my endorsement, the Team Arizona staff was absolutely phenomenal. Andrea Johnson and Eric Day were absolutely stellar Rider coaches, enabling me and my wife, who never rode before, to be competent riders and very comfortable handing a motorcycle in only two days. ...They were great instructors who took the time to teach us how to correctly handle a motorcycle as well as safety. I also like the fact that the course was not easy --- both coaches made darn sure that we earned our endorsement as safety is crucial and incompetence on the motorcycle can have dire consequences. We'll be back for advanced courses, once we choose a bike. Thanks to the entire Team Arizona staff for a great time and money well-spent. See More Read Less

Bill, Tealdo, Morton and Ron were fantastic - all first class riders and instructors. Patient, non-judgmental, and able to answer questions in a way that builds confidence. They are also no-nonsense when it comes to your safety and other's. What a great experience I had. I've taken Advanced Rider Techniques, Total Control 1 and 2, and Sunday was my first Track Day after taking their class. They demystified the entire experience, set us up for success, and the individualized coaching was fantastic. Not too much information is thrown at you, one bite at a time, we all dramatically improved our riding. From Vision, to Body Position, to Entry speed, Turning points, Apex and the Exit - we covered the most important things to be safer, faster, more stable, in control, and PREDICTABLE! I absolutely, 100%, without reservation, recommend their classes for anyone who wants to be a better rider...oh yeah, and YOU WILL HAVE FUN in the process! Thanks TEAM Arizona! Read Less

Took the full day Advanced RiderCourse in Gilbert. It was not very good. RiderCoaches were approachable and engaged. The class wasn't advanced, nor was it delivered as advertised.Course content: Poorly prepared classroom materials. In the classroom, the projector wasn't working, so we had to squint at a computer monitor on a chair.Classroom: Activities in classroom lasted nearly four hours, and there were no breaks. It was advertised as 3 hours, and the extra classroom time came at the expense of range time. The classroom material was very boring, including a series of exercises where signs flashed on the (small) screen for 0.5 seconds, and you had to see if you could figure out what the sign said. While the theoretical "oh wow, it takes a long time to read" moment was...theoretical, the practical effect was to give me a headache and wonder why we kept beating a dead horse. That we spent time on that instead of getting in the advertised range time made the classroom particularly awful.Range: Range time was 3.75 hours. It was advertised as "at least five hours.""Hey, let's spend more time in a motorcycling class in the classroom," said no one, ever.Exercises were well explained, and well demonstrated. Beginning students - one who self-identified as having 100 miles of riding experience - made some range exercises unworkable, and limited the practical value of others. Would I recommend? Not for advanced classes, when the program lets students self-select. For a beginner class, where everyone is new, the playing field is level. I'd suggest them as an option for that. Read Less

I took the two day rider course from Jim.  It was a great class.  Lots of skill building/practice on the bike.  Good information in the classroom sessions.  LOT AND LOTS of stories from Jim, some where even applicable to riding.  Jim did a great job at making all of us students get better on the bikes, most of us seemed very comfortable on the drills and everyone cruised through the skills exam, even the figure 8.I highly recommend this course.  Let me tell you why.  My very first ride picking up my scooter turned out to be a 30 mile journey home from the dealer.  I had planned to work my way up to 10-20mile rides, but I got one in my first hour.My ride had city streets, highway access road (oops), neighborhoods, a winding mtn road, long 50mph highway and hills.  All of my training came in handy and my observation and lane/visibility position skills were put to use.  I got an oh sh!t moment when I accidentally hit the cut off switch going down hill at 50 mph.  I stayed calm and shifted over two lanes to the shoulder.  Bike wouldn't start, but I went through FINEC and vroom, the scooter was running again and off I went as safely as possible.  THE DRILLS WORK.  Thank you Jim. I first used TEAM Arizona for the basic 'get your license safety course' after moving here from England. I thought that despite having ridden for over twenty years, that it made sense to get some local training as well as getting my motorcycle endorsement before riding here.Well, was I ever RIGHT! I can't recall the couple of gentlemen's names who took that first course, but it was absolutely awesome! Even an old hand like me learned plenty of new things, I was VERY impressed. The course content was excellent, as were the trainers and the facility / bikes we used.Since then I have undertaken dirt training with Curt, who is an excellent, down to earth tell it to you straight tutor - do you want someone to blow smoke to make you feel good, or actually IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS? Curt WILL improve your skills if you listen and do as he says... I know he did mine. The same goes for Tealdo and the rest of the 'street' crew - an awesome bunch who are ALWAYS interesting in helping you to succeed and become a better, safer rider. All these people have a passion and a love of their work and of seeing you do well - and it shows.I cannot recommend TEAM Arizona highly enough. Read Less

I am updating my review for the alternate location and to add to my experiences with TEAM AZ.I have been going to the TEAM AZ bike night (2nd Wednesday of every month at Sidewinder Subs in Gilbert) for over a year now and it is a great time. At a one I won a free Advanced Riding Techniques class, something I had wanted to take for a long time.I took the class and it was fantastic. I feel like my riding skill improved way beyond what I had expected. We worked body positioning, emergency stopping, cornering, trail braking and obstacle avoidance. It was a lot packed into 1 day.My instructors Kevin and Michelle were fantastic giving great feedback, keeping things fun while still filling our heads with a ton of knowledge. The class was done at TeamAZ's facility in gilbert and most of the time was spent out on the practice range on the bikes after doing some in class work first. The exercises were fun and built up skills upon each other. As we progressed I could feel my confidence building and my riding improving.I also managed to win a skill practice series class (I am really good at trivia) and used that to take their slow speed maneuvering class. The Skills practice series classes are done one tuesday a month at night for a couple of hours and are designed to sharpen a specific skill. In this case it was working at slow speed which I know for me and others is the most difficult. By the time I was done I was feeling a lot more confident with my slow speed work and I even won the "slow drags," think the opposite of a regular drag race. It was a lot of fun and very informative.I highly recommend taking classes with Team AZ for both new and experienced riders. I am now itching to go take the Total Control classes with them and my new bike. They are great company with great teachers. Read Less

I am a new rider who recently completed the Basic Rider Course.  I was having problems riding on the freeway particularly with cornering at 50 mph and even driving more than 50 mph on the freeway when the wind is 16 mph or higher.  It was scary and I only did it in the wee morning hours when no one was around.  I took a 2 hour private lesson with Bill Seltzer to help me with the high speed cornering.  He was patient on helping me work on my turns and cornering and gave constructive feedback, which is always helpful when one is in  the learning phase.  It's always good to have someone who will work with you, instead of against you during training.  Bill was definitely working with me.  He seems like a real nice person.  I was able to improve my technique and cornering. But really it takes a lot of personal practice keeping in mind all the pointers Bill gave during training.  Bill reinforced the points he taught by helping me evaluate and think through the training allowing me to make my own adjustments as needed.  Within a few days, I have been riding with normal traffic during daytime cornering at 70-75 mph on the freeway with cars sandwiching me on both sides.  The speed was needed to keep up with normal traffic.  lol.  It was no longer scary but now quite fun.  In fact, instead of fearing for my life, I am having fun and and quite meditative now when riding on the freeway.I have also been able to do really solid tight turns at 25 - 45 mph in non-freeway traffic.  Its really fun to turn that tight and that accurate.  Bill has really helped me improve my skills dramatically in a short time.  I look forward to taking some more lessons from him in the future. So much fun and safety first!!Who would have thought learning to ride.. safely... could be so much fun. After a loooooooong break from riding a motorcycle, I decided I wanted to get back on. I found Team Arizona's intro to riding course browsing the interwebs. The intro class was short and sweet.  John (our instructor) knew the subject incredibly well and learned me everything I need to know about being safe and not popping the clutch. I appreciated all the time we got to spend on the bike on the course getting introduced to the basics, because getting started and moving is the hardest part.  I plan on returning for the Basic Rider Course (and likely any additional courses they offer) to get some more experience under my seat before I brave the wild streets of Arizona drivers...The instructors, are fun, funny and have awesome experiences to share. I highly recommend this school and any of their courses for newbies and experts alike, you can never learn to much about riding fast, and safe!! Read Less

I'll be honest...I had little faith that the staff at Team Arizona could transform me from a passenger that had never operated a motorcycle (or any other vehicle with a clutch), to a licensed motorcycle operator in a matter of two short days.  I'll be damned, they did it!I took the Motorcycle Safety Course at the Go AZ location in Scottsdale and could not have been more impressed with instructors (Nick and Kevin), the course or the location.  Five hours in the classroom and ten hours on the range provided me with knowledge and skills to safely operate a motorcycle.  Of course I am not going to head off on a 1000 mile ride this weekend, but I feel confident and ready to hop on a bike and cruise around town to get some more practice in.If you have ever considered getting your motorcycle endorsement, I highly encourage you to contact Team Arizona.  They will provide you with a solid foundation on which to begin your motorcycling adventure. I had never ridden a motorcycle before (except as a passenger) and after two days of a good mix of classroom and hands on training I have a great skill set that I can build on with practice to get better.  The Rider Coaches (what they call their instructors) are very detail oriented and give great worthwhile feedback.  My class had Kevin and Jim as the Rider Coaches and both were extremely knowledgeable, genuinely cared about our safety and knowledge/skill acquisition (of the tools to be safe!), and made the experience a lot of fun.  Just a side note to anyone rating T.E.A.M. Arizona lower that 5 stars because of the instructors being "rude":  constructive criticism is given often and at first might make you feel like you are stupid.  Get used to it- if you are taking this class than you ARE stupid in the ways of motorcycles (at least at first) and you should recognize that and take any criticism they give you because they are trying to prevent you from becoming a statistic.  Tons of fun and I recommend taking the Beginner Rider Course! I rode self-taught for a number of years without an endorsement. Yeah, I know. How stupid can you get? I bought a new bike and finally wised up and decided to do it right this time. I enrolled for the course and can't believe how much I learned! The instructors took every piece of the course and broke it down into really easily digestible chunks. They were more than accommodating to a number of skill levels, too. I un-learned a lot of bad habits, as well. I feel like I have a much healthier respect for riding, as well as a much better skill set to keep me safer out there. Kevin was my instructor, and he made the whole course that much more fun and informative. Read Less

I registered for the Beginner course here after several recommendations from experienced riders. I was/am getting into the scooter or motorcycle market and took the advice that it's best to figure out one's confidence level before buying.Boy am I glad I took this course! There are a variety of schedule configurations you can sign up for, but I took one that met all day Saturday and Sunday. The morning hours were classroom instruction, culminating in a written exam. The afternoon hours were riding, culminating in a skills evaluation. Passing those allows you to waive the testing requirements at the MVD to get your motorcycle license or endorsement. That's really the least of the benefits, though. The instructors were fantastic--really knowledgeable and positive people. Hell, fun to be around, even. They use an incremental approach to get your confidence up and build slowly up to riding. Before you know it, you're cruising all over the course, turning, swerving, weaving, braking, and so on. They teach you all kinds of stuff you would never figure out on your own. Did you know there are at least three methods of turning a motorcycle depending on speed and situation? The other students were cool as well, for the most part. Mixture of experienced riders, new riders, younger, and older. Of course, the sportbike kids who talked about all their awesome riding experience, how light and powerful their bikes are, etc. are the ones who dropped bikes on the course and had trouble passing objectives. On the way out the door, I has already discarded the notion of buying a scooter (unsafe at the speeds I would travel) and was confident of my ability to ride a basic motorcycle without killing myself.Worth the price? Unquestionably. How much is your life worth? Surely more than $200.

Read Less

Because we had traveled such a long distance, Craig went out of his way to juggle some things around, so my boys and I could take the class at their Gilbert location instead. The classroom portion was a breeze, and most of the material is common sense stuff. The skills exercises were fun, and some of them quite difficult.

Taking the basic rider class at the GOAZ Scottsdale location. [Thats next to the Scottsdale Harley Davison Dealer].  Michelle and Craig were a great coaching team working with a class of 12 that included some that never rode a motorcycle before with even a few that never operated a clutch before. They made learning fun, and easy.  Nothing to intimidated about. So this course is great for everyone even if you already know how to ride and just need your license. Read Less

Read Less
