My 16 year old daughter took the 8 hour defensive driving course and the 8 hour behind the wheel instruction and we were very pleased with the staff and Scott, her instructor. There was a small scheduling problem when it came time to take the road test, but Bernard was awesome and went above and beyond to remedy it. She passed the road test on her first try. I took my driving classes at Driver's Seat around 4 months ago. My instructor was Albert, he was really professional in his job. He helped me to learn all the basics. even not being native English speaker, he was very calmly explaining each question I had. I highly recommend this company. Also was cheaper than other places. I had $151 fraudulently taken from my bank account from these guys. An individual who is associated with their company but works for a different company was supposed to refund me $325 but instead used "the drivers seat" to withdrawal more money ($151) without my consent or knowledge. I tried calling the drivers seat and Samantha answered, she refused to listen to me and insisted I listen to her. The info she was giving me was basically a run around to shut me up. She refused to put her superior on the phone and then hung up on me. I was at the bank filing a claim for fraud while I was on the phone with her. Even the teller couldn't believe she hung up on me and at that point understood my frustration in further detail. Watch your accounts if these guys have any of your banking or credit card Info!!!!! ******* I am updating this post to add that I am receiving harassing and threatening phone calls telling me they will call a lawyer if I don't take this down... The Driver's Seat is the best place to get any driver courses completed. Albert is very professional, and unlike a lot of people who are involved in this field, seems to enjoy his job & company. The course content is dry as we all know, but he makes it not so bad to endure. Enthusiasm makes hours go by much quicker. Being a more experienced driver, there were even some good tips I picked up during the 8 hour driver improvement course. He is a retired military service member and was extremely accommodating to my schedule during the week as I am currently stationed at JBER. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to attend a state-required course. The cost was very reasonable and competitive with the other companies in Anchorage. With unmatched customer service, the price should be of little importance. Read Less

This corse made me feel so much safer driving . The instructors were so nice and so kind to me ! I feel that this is the best driving school in anchorage for sure ! They didn't just make me a better driver they made me feel safe and encorege me to always be confident in my best instincts. I signed my 16 year old daughter up for the week long drivers ed and training, which includes a road test at the end of the session. I had been practicing with her since she received her permit, but felt like I wasn't going to be able to provide her with the fundamentals (things that I just assume and are second nature to me). A full day of in class learning, followed by 4 days of 2 hour road experience really helped to prepare her for her exam. She really liked the instructor. For her road test, she passed on the first try. She's even informing me now of some 'bad habits' I've picked up over the years. What a difference in her driving. I feel like she's got a great foundation towards building a safe track record. No one is perfect, but I feel she has the tools to be a successful and safe driver. Thank you! Read Less

The Drivers Seat first off has amazing customer service!!!! I was in there to do a road exam today and had some paper work trouble with the DMV that took some phone calls and faxes and waiting which made the process almost three times as long as normal and I must say the whole time they just made it so easy to stay patient. They had a way of making you feel welcome there and they were very easy to talk to. Very good people. I would recommend this place based on the attitudes of the Couple helping me alone! The testing was very thorough and I was able to schedule my appointment 1 day in advance. Read Less
