We are an independent driving school jointly owned by Mark Bentley and Jacqui Smith based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent. We provide high quality driving lessons and driving instructor training at competitive prices in and around Stoke on Trent. Here at ´What the L´ we have 15 years combined experience in driver training and are grade 5 and 6 driving instructors, offering a high standard of driving instruction and an enviable high pass rate. Passed my test today. Can not thank What the L Driving School enough. Jacqueline Smith is a legend in my eyes. Started driving with a different school 13 months ago and it was the worst experience, nearly making me give up. In April Jacqui contacted me within 10 minutes of me making an enquiry and the rest is history. Great lady, amazing sense of humour, patient and never lost faith in me. I'm 48 and left driving quite late, I would highly recommend the school for older learners like me. Equally I witnessed the interactions with younger pupils and it was excellent. Great experience and would highly, highly recommend for all those wanting to learn. Thank you. X

Jacqui was amazing instructor, I had already had lessons with other instructors before giving up and hadn't took a lesson in 2/3 years due to nerves. Felt totally at ease, the car was great to learn in, and their was plenty of patience for me � I wouldn't have been able to pass and actually enjoy driving if it wasn't for Jacqui, highly recommend! massive thank you! Jacqui is without doubt the best driving instructor I've had. If you're looking for a great teacher and someone who will make you laugh Jacqui is your go to person. She made me laugh so hard even when driving became a difficult experience for me. She was always so patient and helpful and there is no way I would have passed my test without her. Jackie is not your average driving instructor. I can vouch for this as I have had many in the past. She shines above the rest. Firstly Jackie is a decent, good moraled person, she is geniue in her role as a teacher. Her professionalism, experience is imidatley apranrant. She is an expert in teaching, her natural ability to be diverse in her methods for each individual pupil, although her aim & outcome are the same, to teach you how to drive with confidence, skill and above a...ll to be a safe road user. I have not been an easy pupil to teach, however because of Jackies teaching skills, encouragement, wisdom I have passed my test today as a compatent driver. Jackie moves with the times, she is modern in her approach to teaching. Jackie is also blessed with a big personality she is humourous, smart, a very likable women, which of course helps massively if your nervous. If you want to learn how to drive correctly, not waste your time & money, I recommend Jackie all day every day. See More

If you are looking for an instructor who you can learn and laugh with then Jacqui is your woman! From the moment I got in the car she made me feel at ease and is just the most down to earth person. She goes at your pace and doesn't pressure you at all and will always be honest. I couldn't of passed without her and will miss just chatting and laughing at the same time as learning. Thank you Jacqui for being you and making learning a great experience.

I have to say a big thank you to my amazing driving instructor Jacqueline Smith. Jac has been so much more than an instructor and will be a friend for life. I got into her car just over a year ago absolutely terrified and was convinced right up until yesterday that I'd be having lessons with her until I was 85 �� but she got me through. She also got me through a divorce, two surgeries, a year of uni and a lot of other problems with her weekly counselling sessions. I thoroughly recommend Jacqui (and business partner) to absolutely everyone who needs driving lessons because she is definitely the best!

Had a great time every lesson with Jacqui she dealed with my nervousness way better than the two instructor's I had before, she definitely puts in the time to get her learner's ready for their test and most importantly keeps you smiling through your lesson, unless you cause damage to her cars alloys haha. I couldn't imagine passing my test 2nd time without her.

Started driving with a different school 13 months ago and it was the worst experience, nearly making me give up. Had a great time every lesson with Jacqui she dealed with my nervousness way better than the two instructor's I had before, she definitely puts in the time to get her learner's ready for their test and most importantly keeps you smiling through your lesson, unless you cause damage to her cars alloys haha.
