So, I passed first time, with only four faults having never driven before! This was all down to his consistency, patience, meticulous yet no pressure attitude to mistakes and friendly, relaxed manner....
So, I passed first time, with only four faults having never driven before! This was all down to his consistency, patience, meticulous yet no pressure attitude to mistakes and friendly, relaxed manner. I had so much faith in his expertise, and he made sure I had a lot of confidence in my own abilities that when it came to test day I barely felt any nerves at all.
He not only makes sure you have all of the new 2018 test skills down, but others that you'll need to become a safe road user once you start driving independently (which won't take long with AKG!)
In short, I highly, highly recommend Alvat, you'd be remiss not to choose him for any and all of your driving needs. In fact, I intend to contact him again for a few hours of motorway training in the future!

I had a lot of pressure to pass my test and researched a fair bit before settling on an instructor. Alvat had some solid reviews so I gave him a shot, totally prepared to switch if I didn't feel it was going to be right for me.
Right off the bat though I knew I'd made the right choice.
Alvat is consistent and doesn't miss a trick. Once you've got the basics down he'll let you decide where you feel you want to focus and has great local knowledge meaning that he can quickly find a route or area that will help you in that particular set of skills. This means you always feel you're getting good value for your money and of course your time.
He is serious when you need to focus, and can be more lighthearted if your nerves start to fray to take the pressure off a bit. He also has some great film recommendations :D

I had been through quite a few instructors before meeting Alvat and had nearly lost all hope! Alvat makes sure you learn to drive not only to pass the exam( which I did first time) but also ensures that you learn essential skills and good driving technqiues that will serve you for your driving life! He is serious about his work and is stern but also makes driving enjoyable and is friendly. He takes his job seriously and adapts to your driving style whilst teaching you correct habits. Thanks Alvat!!!

Knowing that I would spend a lot of time and money on driving tuition, I researched driving instructors in Oxford to make sure I was getting good value. I chose Alvat because he had very positive reviews. The reviews are well deserved. He gave clear instructions, constructive feedback and was always patient when I made mistakes. I felt comfortable in the car with him and he's easy to get on with. Thanks to his tuition, I passed my test on the first attempt.

This was all down to his consistency, patience, meticulous yet no pressure attitude to mistakes and friendly, relaxed manner. Knowing that I would spend a lot of time and money on driving tuition, I researched driving instructors in Oxford to make sure I was getting good value. I chose Alvat because he had very positive reviews. The reviews are well deserved. He gave clear instructions, constructive feedback and was always patient when I made mistakes.
