Took my driving lessons last year and was highly disappointed. Took my first lesson in February and booked my test 3 months in advance for mid November which my instructor was aware of. 2 weeks before the test he told me I needed to improve on small things which I had improved on with my parents car that week. A week before my test my mum attended the lesson with me and admittedly I made a mistake that was corrected safely and because of this my instructor said he wouldn't allow me to take the test in his car. Which was devastating for me 7 days before my test which led me forced to cancel as going in my mums car was too stressful to learn manuoveres in a week in a different car. My instructor wasn't supportive at all and the months prior to the test I felt as though he was very lax and we hardly practised manuoveres and often he would address me by the wrong name. After having the test cancelled I decided to go with a different instructor who said my driving was perfectly fine, I took the test a week after and passed which was early December. It is now the end of January and my 1st Driving School instructor still hasn't bothered to text me to see if I would like to continue with lessons, it is an absolute joke. Spent a ridiculous amount of money on someone that had no intentions to get me passed.

I would recommend Robert Parker, he is a good teacher who is both patient and meticulous. I was pleasantly surprised at the professional demeanour of 1st Driving School and its office team.

I highly highly recommend Andre Ogiste. He's a very experienced and engaging instructor who aims to teach you how to drive safely and competently not just to pass the exam, but for your driving life afterwards. I really enjoyed my lessons, and felt I was being challenged at the right pace. Andre was always punctual, listened to what I had to say, and explained things as many times as I needed very patiently. He's given me good habits and lots of confidence. Thank you Andre. (:

My overall experience has been great and I'm very pleased with passing this month with only 1 minor and couldn't have asked for a better driving instructor.
I've really enjoyed my lessons with Dean Pidgeon and he made me feel at ease and confident whilst driving and taught me everything I needed to know in order to be a good and safe driver. I would definitely recommend 1st Driving school and Dean Pidegon for any new drivers looking to learn.

Received a lovely card from them with my photo in, to keep as moment I won't forget!
Thanks to John Cooke and 1st Driving School, I'm now on the road!!

I initially was with AA driving school and suffered from a bad accident due to my driving instructors negligence. After building up the courage to finally start driving again, I went with mark reveley. He is the perfect driving instructor for anyone but especially those who haven't had a great experience previously. After only around 5 and a half months of driving with mark doing 2 hours a week I was more confident than ever before and I passed my driving test first time. He was a real help, really patient and very reliable. He is also friendly which really helped in making me feel comfortable. I would recommend mark for driving again and I hope in a few weeks to do some motorway driving with him.

For anyone who lives in Derby, I definitely recommend John Cooke as an instructor who was recommended to me from my mum's friend. He's knows his stuff, very patient, relaxed and lovely. I passed on my second time with just two minors (first time, I think I went for it too soon). He was very supportive and believed in my capabilities. First Driving School is good priced and offers great deals compared to most driving schools I had looked at.

Brilliant driving school, my instructor Dan Evans is absolutely fantastic. He gave me the confidence to pass my driving test today and I can't thank him enough. I really enjoyed my lessons with Dan, he is such a nice person and from day one he made me feel comfortable. I am really going to miss my lessons on a Saturday with him. Thank you for everything once again. I will certainly recommend Dan and 1st driving school to anybody wanting to learn to drive.

My overall experience has been great and I'm very pleased with passing this month with only 1 minor and couldn't have asked for a better driving instructor.
I've really enjoyed my lessons with Dean Pidgeon and he made me feel at ease and confident whilst driving and taught me everything I needed to know in order to be a good and safe driver. I would definitely recommend 1st Driving school and Dean Pidegon for any new drivers looking to learn.

After building up the courage to finally start driving again, I went with mark reveley. He is the perfect driving instructor for anyone but especially those who haven't had a great experience previously. For anyone who lives in Derby, I definitely recommend John Cooke as an instructor who was recommended to me from my mum's friend. He's knows his stuff, very patient, relaxed and lovely. Brilliant driving school, my instructor Dan Evans is absolutely fantastic. He gave me the confidence to pass my driving test today and I can't thank him enough. I really enjoyed my lessons with Dan, he is such a nice person and from day one he made me feel comfortable. I am really going to miss my lessons on a Saturday with him.
