I started learning again after a year and a half with ECDS and my lessons were with Jon Perry. The level of teaching is second to none, he is patient, understanding and really helps boost your confidence on the road. I already had some experience from past instructors but Jon is by far the best. I'm pleased to say that today I passed my driving test first time and I couldn't have done it without him! Passed with only two minors. A huge thanks to Keith for my instruction. I spent the last year taking sporadic lessons from various companies and felt that I was getting no where. The start of this year I was determined to make another proper go at it. Choosing Edinburgh City Driving School was the best decision I made. Keith was a fantastic teacher encouraging me to become a confident driver. His method was intuitive yet also relaxing. He helped settle my nerves which helped me concentrate at tasks in hand. I've have just recently passed and was instructed by Jon. Couldn't recommend him more highly enough. He always made me feel comfortable in the car, and when explaining things he was so clear and precise. I found the lessons exciting, and the reassurance Jon gave me especially on test day was just what I needed. Jon was always able to answer all the insane questions I would throw at him and this gave me confidence throughout lessons. Very flexible and accommodating to people's busy schedules. Just passed with Richard and honestly cannot recommend enough. Made me feel at ease and yet pushed me as well-even when I didn't feel I could do something, this has really helped my confidence. Having had a previous instructor years ago that I felt made me have lots of lessons going over the same things, Richard told me when he though I should put in for my test and knew where I needed improvement rather than going over things I could do. If you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced, flexible, lovely car to drive and ultimately an instructor who is calm, patient and understanding then I would recommend instructor Jon at EDS, totally! I was an extremely nervous learner but quickly felt confident enough in the car to soak up all the knowledge thrown my way. If at any point I felt unsure we would stop and go over the theory before moving off again. Jon doesn't just answer your questions but explains the reason fully to help make sure you understand.
