I had 30 hours of driving lessons from an instructor called TONY THOMPSON (Worked for Driving's Cool and now working for Catz-i). The first few lessons went well, but after a while, Tony became a very impatient teacher and would often scold or criticise me. For example, before a round-about I made a mistake and went in the wrong lane. I apologised then asked for a solution and his only reply was “All there is left to do is crash?!”. He has made snide racist remarks such as, “In this country we drive on the left” (at this point we had been driving together for 28 hours already).
He was extremely short tempered and it was common for him to get mad at me for making small mistakes for something he had never taught me. On another instance, during the first time he taught me parallel parking, his impatience was exemplified through his complaints and constant sighs, as “I was learning too slow”. A common lesson with Tony, would be him giving me directions, criticising my driving, scolding me and very rarely ever teaching me anything.
Overall, Tony Thompson absolutely ruined my experience learning how to drive. He shattered my confidence and caused me to become more stressed whilst I was driving. At one point, he even threatened to “floor me” (i.e punch me). During one lesson, I told Tony that I was trying my utmost best and he said to me that “it simply was not enough”. A teacher/instructor should always be patient with their students, regardless of their learning ability. After 30 hours with Tony Thompson, I think labelling him as a instructor would be disrespectful to all other honourable driving instructors out there that are actually patient and respectful to their students. Tony Thompson should be stripped of his Driving Instructor License and should not be given the responsibility and privilege of teaching new learners.
His actions, should NOT represent any of the schools that he worked/working for, as they had no part to play. Read Less
