I have passed my driving test thanks to my exceptional instructor Vicki Tarver. I would like to recommend her for the exceptional instruction, immense time and patience with me during my driving lessons. I never believed this day would come! I had never come across a driving instructor who was very thorough, assuring and very friendly at the same time, until I met Vicki.... She has helped me to build my confidence on the road by being attentive and supportive throughout my lessons. I thoroughly enjoyed every single lesson. Her professionalism and respectful demeanour gave me the confidence and ability to grow in skill with every lesson. From the start, I knew RED driving school was a good choice, but having Vicky was the best decision I made. Thank you so much. See More

Since when was it ok for one of your instructors to tell there pupil to drive through a temporary traffic light which was held on red while me and my colleague was doing some maintenance on the site h...
Since when was it ok for one of your instructors to tell there pupil to drive through a temporary traffic light which was held on red while me and my colleague was doing some maintenance on the site hence why being held on red for our safety little did we know one of your drivers told his pupil to which was only at the red light a maximum of 2 minuets to ignore the red light and drive through our site so we phoned red driving school head office as how is that a good way to teach could of killed us the person on the phone said did we have proof and it was probably an honest mistake what would of been an honest mistake if they would have ran us over it’s on red for a reason he has been reported to the driving licence agency seems as you didn’t want to do anything about it absolute joke

My complaint below says it all!!!!! Shocked and sickened by the way they feel they can treat people! Quick enough to take my money! To whom it may concern, I am extremely unhappy about the way my experience with red has started- or not started I should say. ... I called Red on Monday 16th April- discussed booking lessons and paid £120 for a course of 6 hours costing 4. When I got off the phone to the Red agent who was very helpful I went onto the Gov website and sent my code to my instructor as above. I had no response and then on Wednesday 18th April Josè called me to discuss the lesson etc but said that he had been over booked for today (Thursday 19th @ 6pm) I advised that my lesson was booked for Friday 20th April (see screenshot) @ 6pm and he said he would check and come back to me! On Thursday 19th @ 5pm I had not had a response so I chased see below and was told that he could not do Friday now. I was not bothered at first that the lessons was going to be changed but when none of the ones offered are going to be suitable I called your office @6.45pm on Thursday 19th and was told the lessons had been booked for different times that what had been confirmed with me in the email above (The person I spoke to this time was not so helpful) I asked to speak to a manager as I just wanted a refund after the fuss that has been made and was told ‘My manager will only tell you what I’ve already told you. I was then put on hold for the 4/5th time to be told that refund team had gone home for the day but someone would call me tomorrow at 3 to discuss my refund. I had already expressed that I am only available after 6. I was told I can not get a refund for tomorrow’s lesson until my instructor had not turned up due to the 48 hour cancellation- which I also think is wrong because I’ve been messed around I have not cancelled. I want to cancel all appointments and I want a full refund as the service I have received has been appalling and as driving is a nerve racking experience to start with I don’t feel very confident in Red now. Please can I have a response as to when my refund will reach my account so I can go to a more reliable driving school who will actually listen to my needs. Bit of a complicated one. Was advised on how many hours to buy and was told do the 32. I’ve now got through my 32 and still need something like an extra 13 hours because it really wasn’t a good enough amount of time suggest especially seeing as I have never driven a car. And I am not a bad driver and still picked up fairly fast but now I have to spend over an above how much I thought I was going to spend The driving instructor has been great and is a great laugh but I’m no...t impressed by the cost or the lack of knowledge that I was given when I first booked on to the course In total I’m spending close to a grand because of this mistake and now wish I’d tried my luck with somewhere else that doesn’t charge extra by the hour See More

I would like to commend Ms Fiona Robinson for her exceptional instruction over the course of my driving lessons. I started out an extremely anxious driver, yet Fiona has managed to get me to a point where I feel genuinely confident and self-assured on the road. Fiona is an extremely talented instructor. Her calm and patient demeanour, combined with her aptitude for nurturing learner skill-building, positive attitude and thorough driving knowledge, render her truly outstanding. I will not hesitate to recommend her to all aspiring drivers I encounter in the future. Fiona is an asset to RED Driving School and an absolute credit to their quality standards.

Book a 6 hour deal for £118 the following day the instructor rang and said id have to start from basic and that i would only be driving for half an hour of my 2 hour lesson said he hadnt been told id had lessons before on the email sent to him and if i wanted to drive id have to pay him an extra £58 on the day i told him that i was going to get in touch with red for him to tell me he would do it and to pay him in future instead of making any payments over the phone or interne...t to red. Rang red as im not so naive and they told me the they had sent him the email confirming i wasnt a beginner and that they would contact him and now all i know is i'll be having a different driving instructor who hasn't been in touch either would really rather a refund and go to a reliable company. Quite clearly the first instructor was in it for the money and probably will do it again to someone else just to make some more money!! Yet to see how this driving instructor is as when asking for a refund she told me shed already booked in with someone else and that it would go down as student cancellation and wouldn't get the refund at all then See More

Excellent service offered, easy to manage all online. My instructor was Claire, she couldn't have made the experience any better, she was very professional and an excellent instructor. I'd gladly go with her again but after passing my test there's no need anymore but I couldn't have done it without her. Would recommend anyone looking for a smooth experience to learning to drive look no further and even better if you're lucky to get Claire. Thank you red and a big thank you Claire. See you out there

I am giving this driving school a one star review as they obviously have no consideration for their customers based on my recent experience. I had been learning with a RED instructor for almost a year, I would give him a good review, if there was much point, as he did try really hard with me - an older and quite apprehensive learner. However my instructor left RED last week, with not much notice to me (he would lose a star for that...), and after being told I would be contact...ed and reassigned an instructor I ended up phoning RED myself yesterday to be told there are no instructors available in my area, would I like a refund? This is a company I have been learning through and who have been taking a sizeable chunk of my money for a year and they are not bothered at all about helping me to continue to learn to drive. I emailed a complaint and spoke to someone else in the contact centre who must have said ten times, “It’s just unfortunate that there are currently no available instructors in your area...they are self employed and there is nothing we can do...” She kept saying that same thing even though I was trying to point out that surely they should have some sort of continuity system in place for customers who choose to book an instructor through them. I also pointed out that there seems to be a lot more instructors for my area (a major city) on the website when I do a search than she is claiming, including my previous instructor...so maybe they need to update the website to reflect the true number?? Thankfully I only have one hour and one minute (randomly) to be refunded as going on the service I have just not received from them I would be worried if I was owed more. I will be trying an independent as don’t see the point in going through a school like this now, hopefully it will not have set back my learning (and slowly built confidence) too much. See More

After driving more than 20 years in the right hand side of the road, I was really not straight forward for me to start driving in the UK. In order to get familiar with the rules and driving environment in the UK, before taking my practical driving test, I decided to take a few hours of driving lessons with Red Driving School. My experience was really good, and the driving instructor unique. Charanjit (Ricky) was always punctual in all driving sessions, and he showed both abso...lute professionalism and full knowledge of the driving rules and style in the UK. I really enjoyed the driving sessions because Charanjit was always very clear and direct to signal and explain my faults, and also to advise me on how to improve/correct them. Another aspect I really appreciated was that at the end of each driving session we did a full review of it, analysing the entire session in order to understand what, when and where I made a mistake. Specially useful were all the drawings Charanjit did to explain me the dynamics of roundabouts, which I must confess were the biggest challenge for me. I highly recomend Red Driving School, and if you can, try to book some driving hours with Charanjit, you will not regret it at all. See More

Hey guys, I had driving lessons in Maidstone with James Daniel Bryer from RED Driving School. I can definitelly recommend the school as well as James. He's a great teacher, super calm and thorough. You won't feel stressed at all, when having lessons with him. He's very patient and will explain in details different aspects of driving on various types of roads and in different driving conditions. He's also very responsive and helped me when rebooking driving test / finding earlier dates. Overall, very good experience, and I'm a happy license holder now!
