ROYAL (School of Motoring), was started in 1981, with its first office opening in Camberwell shortly after... This was at a time long before speed humps & traffic cameras.
Most people were picked up from the office in South London and the AA were only a breakdown service, no plumbers or driving instructors yet.
BSM were independent and the benchmark, providing tuition throughout the UK. (Now owned by the AA). It was felt that a small team of qualified professional instructors with personal skills & a concern for road safety was greatly needed. ROYAL (School of Motoring) was born.

After passing my test today I have to thank the RSoM team for being really helpful with getting me here. Due to my crazy work schedule I had to cancel, rebook and sometimes miss my lessons but they could always sort me out with another one. This went on for 15 months but they never got bored :) Instructors are professional and very patient. I was a bit worried prior to starting the process as I've never driven before, but they all made me feel comfortable right from the start and it went pretty smoothly from there.

I pasted my test with Aruna at royal driving school and it was by far the best thing I've ever done! Aruna was super patient with my learning, built up my confidence and got rid of all my nerves - not an easy challenge! I would recommend this driving school to anyone sitting on the fence with their driving! Go for it and you won't look back

If anyone wants to learn how to drive please go with Royal. Great service from the office, all staff were friendly and informative. Aruna my instructor was amazing, I could not have asked for a better person. He was kind, patient and welcoming and reassured me even when I felt like I just could not drive at all. Any questions of queries I had were answered by the office or Aruna and I never felt like a bother. I cant thank Royal and Aruna enough for teaching me how to drive and being patience from the very start right up till I passed my test. I would highly highly recommend Royal to any and everyone, the prices are more than fair but more than that you will receive top notch training.

I passed my driving test today thanks to my best instructor ever x Over last months he was very supportive, flexible and made the driving lessons something I look forward to every week. He explained everything very clearly, was very patient, and taught me everything I needed to know, not only for the test but also for everyday driving. Thank you so much. A massive thank you to my instructor David! Having failed my test twice last year, I was very anxious about getting back behind the wheel. I had a very short period of time available to take my test. I'm so happy to have finally passed after only 3 weeks of lessons! David is by far the best instructor I have had, he picked up on all the little bad habits, answered every question and doubt that I had. He made every lesson relaxed and gave me my confidence back. So thank you to David the 'miserable, old man' and Royal School of Motoring for being so helpful and accommodating! I would definitely recommend them! :)

I used to go to Royal's office about an hour before I had my driving lesson booked to practice my theory, which meant I could spend time on both. Many thanks to everyone there especially Ian my instructor! Thanks all,

I took my license with Ian from Royal School of Motoring and have been extremely pleased with the process throughout; all from initially calling them to enquire about lessons back in November (before having received my provisional license and obviously before being a pupil) and they offered me help with my theory/hazard if I was struggling, to starting my lessons with Ian and successfully passing. Ian was great, very patient (I am sure I tested his patience ) and able to explain everything in a way that made complete sense. And I had fun taking my lessons!

Thank you so much to Royal for helping me pass my test today. I had an international licence which expired and had trouble finding an instructor who would take me with short notice and without prior lessons. My driving lessons with Royal were amazing. The lessons were tailored to my needs and ways of learning and each one had objectives that I felt I could achieve. I passed my test first time and feel as though I am a safe and confident driver. I felt as though the skills I have been taught were worth every penny and I would highly recommend to anyone!

After passing my test today I have to thank the RSoM team for being really helpful with getting me here. Due to my crazy work schedule I had to cancel, rebook and sometimes miss my lessons but they could always sort me out with another one. This went on for 15 months but they never got bored :) Instructors are professional and very patient. I was a bit worried prior to starting the process as I've never driven before, but they all made me feel comfortable right from the start and it went pretty smoothly from there.

A massive thank you to my instructor David! Having failed my test twice last year, I was very anxious about getting back behind the wheel. I had a very short period of time available to take my test. I'm so happy to have finally passed after only 3 weeks of lessons! David is by far the best instructor I have had, he picked up on all the little bad habits, answered every question and doubt that I had. He made every lesson relaxed and gave me my confidence back. I took my license with Ian from Royal School of Motoring and have been extremely pleased with the process throughout; all from initially calling them to enquire about lessons back in November (before having received my provisional license and obviously before being a pupil) and they offered me help with my theory/hazard if I was struggling, to starting my lessons with Ian and successfully passing. My driving lessons with Royal were amazing. The lessons were tailored to my needs and ways of learning and each one had objectives that I felt I could achieve. I passed my test first time and feel as though I am a safe and confident driver. I felt as though the skills I have been taught were worth every penny and I would highly recommend to anyone!
