Tony is the best instructor I have ever had. I have had so many bad experiences with tests and instructors and I came to him very nervous. I can now say, with Tony’s help, I have successfully passed and am now confident on the roads. Thank you Tony!

I had lessons with Hallidays (instructor was Tony) for around 2 months.
At first, Tony listened to what I wanted out of my lessons and assured me that he would help improve my confidence and anxiety in the car. However, very quickly, his true colours showed.
He was constantly on the phone in the car to other people (on loudspeaker), which was extremely unprofessional and distracting.
He would also sometimes have me drop off his wife to places - why is this even a thing? Do that in your own time and not on a paid lesson.
Furthermore, he would constantly discuss other students in lessons and said a variety of very questionable things.
He would not pay attention during my lessons and not bother to teach me any rules of the road of techniques. I even asked him about the speed limit on one road and he responded “ you should know that by now”, to which I said well that’s what I’m paying you for?
On one occasion he shouted at me for going very slightly over the speed limit and then told me to find another instructor if I didn’t like it, which would have been impossible seeing as my test was only about two weeks away.
Overall it was a horrible experience and I felt such anxiety with him in the car. If I even made small errors he would heighten my anxiety and say things like “ you better hope XYZ doesn’t happen now” etc.
He really ruined my experience and also cost me a significant amount of money. If he doesn’t want to teach, I wish he would have saved me time and money and said this in the first instance.
I’m now with another school, and my first three lessons have been exponentially better.

I passed my test with Wes as my driving instructor in chingford with no minors and no majors due to the excellent teaching from Wes and Hallidays driving school after previous failing 5 test with other schools and instructors . I highly recommended Halliday driving school.

-----NOT HAPPY WITH DEREK----TOOK MY MONEY AND FOUGHT WITH ME TOO-----
I booked Derek Raymond Belsham for driving lessons for my wife. Gave 25 lessons for automatic car and then refused to give last 2 lessons at all and did not refund.
Because He demanded payment CASH ONLY so we paid for 10 lessons at a time.
He is not a good instructor and does not teach very well.
Wastes time by not teaching while driving for hazards on the spot and jumps straight for the manoeuvres within the 1st week of driving.
He argued that because I paid him cash so there is nothing that I can do.
I strongly suggest that you should stay away from this RIP-OFF.
My wife was a very good driver and because the previous instructor had a back injury, we had to find another and unfortunately, we found Derek.
According to him, she needed another 40+ lessons after he has given 30 lessons for the automatic????????????
It means that Derek has not been teaching good enough that a student needs 70+ lessons, where the student already had 28 lessons from another instructor and according to him, she would only need 10 more lessons to perfect her driving.
In the last call, he was very very rude and very discouraging for a student.
Do not waste your time and money with this instructor at all, but it's your choice after all.

I passed first time a couple of weeks ago, and I'm very happy with how everything went! Dave is a very patient and encouraging instructor, ever friendly and easy to chat to. Very easy going attitude, but is determined to help you pass, and makes sure you'll be one of the safest drivers on the road. Trustworthy, flexible with lesson times, and always lets you know how he thinks you're doing as you progress. :)

I passed my test with David 4 years a go and passed first time he is a fantastic Driveing instructor and I would recommend him to any body who would like to drive, 5* all the way!

Having previously failed my test twice, I was put off driving and I didn't want to try again with my previous instructor. I found HDS through Yell and it was one of the best Google searches I ever did...
Having previously failed my test twice, I was put off driving and I didn't want to try again with my previous instructor. I found HDS through Yell and it was one of the best Google searches I ever did...Dave is a great instructor! I was able to 'drive' but Dave helped target where I was weakest and we worked on those and spending 30 minutes in the Loughton Sainsburys trying to bay park eventually paid off. Even though I got lost on my driving test (nothing to do with Dave), I... passed with flying colours. What can I say about Dave? Well, he is a great instructor, friendly and relaxed, most of all patient. It was never a chore to spend time with and learning with Dave, I'm not sure he would say the same about me, but I am still hearing Dave's words when I am driving around and his Pass Plus tuition was invaluable. If you are unsure of driving, then Dave will give you the confidence in your own skills I cannot recommend Dave highly enough! See More

Tony is the best instructor I have ever had. I have had so many bad experiences with tests and instructors and I came to him very nervous. I can now say, with Tony’s help, I have successfully passed and am now confident on the roads. Thank you Tony!

I had lessons with Hallidays (instructor was Tony) for around 2 months.
At first, Tony listened to what I wanted out of my lessons and assured me that he would help improve my confidence and anxiety in the car. However, very quickly, his true colours showed.
He was constantly on the phone in the car to other people (on loudspeaker), which was extremely unprofessional and distracting.

I passed my test with Wes as my driving instructor in chingford with no minors and no majors due to the excellent teaching from Wes and Hallidays driving school after previous failing 5 test with other schools and instructors . I highly recommended Halliday driving school.
