Ian was an exceptionally professional and realistic instructor, very honest in relation to my advancement and accommodating to my personal needs, being 39 at the time, and with skill fade apparent, and the ability to follow instructions not being what they were, Ian had his work cut out!! Ian is punctual and reliable, and will expect the same in return. Being in full time employment I could only take lessons on a Saturday, early mornings, which Ian was more than happy to acc...ept, he not only instructed me on how to "pass a test" but also to actually drive correctly, small tips that I use regularly to this day now I am driving. After the initial introduction and a few lessons with nerves, I found I was actually looking forward to the lesson each week and had some hillarious moments with Ian, who has a wicked sense of humour and a great understanding of what makes people tick. I managed to pass on my second attempt, with only 2 minor faults, my first being a failure on lane discipline (completely my own fault) Ian is definatly not the only driving instructor in the East Devon area, but he is definatly the only instructor I would consider using. What an amazing driving instructor. I was on a test rescue after I failed my first driving test and lost confidence in driving. Ian helped me regain my confidence and pass my test and really helped with my insecurities with dual carriageways. Fantastic instructor. After about 6 months of lessons (with a break of 7 months in the middle of this year) I passed my driving test first time due to Ian's excellent teaching. I have absolutely loved learning with Ian! He's a great teacher that is always friendly no matter what the day or time. I would 100% recommend Ian as he massively helped me and my brother to pass our driving tests. He is also great with helping on the theory test as well. He helped me pass first time on my theory and second time on my practical (Would've passed first time if I'd remembered to stop at a stop sign 😂) so I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone, no matter what their driving ability!
