Lynda has been my driving instructor for the past 7 months and I had a great experience. She is a calm and patient instructor who really helped me to achieve. The scoring system that she uses is helpful so you can see what you need to improve and work on, which helps to give additional focus to the lesson as well as learning a new skill which I did most lessons- it seems you really can learn something new every time! I found her car to be just the right size for a beginner like me and being quite new it had useful technology in it which I appreciated (especially the automatic wipers and headlights!). We always had a good time in our lessons and had plenty of things to laugh about as well as concentrating and working hard which is what made the lessons so enjoyable. Overall she is a very knowledgable and patient teacher and I would definitely recommend her. Read Less

I had a very enjoyable time learning with Lynda. She was impeccably punctual and very thorough and patient from the get-go to ensuring I was well prepared for my test, as well as teaching me various things for advanced, safe driving and manoeuvres that are not tested in Crewe due to lack of facilities but nevertheless useful for driving in general. We had a lot of good laughs, and her rating system makes it easy to see how much you've improved over a period of time, and what your weakest and strongest areas are. She makes sure to put you through a couple of mocks and drive round some of the test routes, and also to practice some of the most difficult driving areas in and around Crewe so that you're confident and comfortable with them. (The car is also very forgiving for learners, which makes everything less stressful.) I found learning to drive very relaxing and Lynda has a calm approach that will set at ease even the most anxious students (amongst which I am included!). Read Less

I found Lynda's driving school after looking online for local instructors with good prices and reputation, I eventually decided on Lynda. I began learning with Lynda late 2014 and at first enjoyed my lessons and the price was reasonable -£200 for 10 hours which were block booked. Lynda informed me she preferred teaching lessons 2 hours in length - thus costing £40 a lesson. After having many lessons I noticed Lynda seemed to be taking advantage of these 2 hour slots and would often drag what could be done in 1 hour across the 2 hour lesson, despite her website claiming that these 2 hour lessons were for 'faster learning.' As stated among the other reviews, Lynda uses a rating system out of 5; once you eventually reach this level ( after many many lessons at £40 each ) the slightest dip would cause you to spend the majority of the lesson going over what you'd done wrong ( even if it was the slightest error ) and thus another wasted lesson going over something you know perfectly well but happened to make a simple mistake on - and the activity you were supposed to do that lesson would be postponed until the next week - another £40. Just after April this year Lynda informed me that if I wanted a lesson the next week the price was increasing to £44!!!! And this was apparently a student rate with discount applied!!!! Begrudgingly I accepted thinking I would soon be able to take my test. A few weeks later Lynda informed me she was getting a new car ( perhaps the reason for the price increase ) this then resulted in another lesson ' getting used ' to the new car and another £44 was required. When you feel like you're close to doing your test Lynda informs you that you have to pass a mock with her first but before you can do the mock everything must be at a level 5, something which when you're tired after a full 2 hour lesson is rather disheartening to discover that ' you'll need another lesson to just bring it up a little bit. ' I can't help but think that Lynda is sometimes harsh with her marking to ensure that she gets another lesson and yet another £44. Whilst Lynda informs her pupils that ' she's not just teaching you to pass a test, she's teaching you for life ' I again can't help but think that she takes advantage of pupils who end up taking almost double the amount of time to learn compared to other local driving schools. When enquiring about taking the practical driving test, Lynda told me that I shouldnt book this until I had passed the mock and if I did book my test and I hadn't passed a mock then she wouldn't allow me to use her car!!! Another method of trying to get the most money possible from you. I changed driving instructors and after 3 weeks passed my test with flying colours, despite Lynda telling me I wasn't ready for my test! I wish I had changed earlier as I have no doubt that Lynda would have continued to rip me off for lessons that I quite clearly wouldn't have needed!Read Less
